Yoga! And beer!! And reading!!!
I‘m sorry, it‘s probably me. I can‘t figure out what is happening and I don‘t care. Where is this going?! I am bailing at page 105 - if you can‘t capture my heart or curiosity by page 100, I am outtahere. I have too many books 📚 coming off hold and not enough time! 🕰️
#May2025 Book46 (Going to go watch Murderbot now 🤖)
A friend recommended this to me; so excited that Libby had the audio available. 🐦⬛
We only have one dog at the moment and have never had three at a time; THIS USA “MOTHER” Day, I am thinking of all my kids, my canine kids; they are top of mind 💖 Reading this because…. I somehow love a good grief story. Pic is Copper with my “new” iris from a neighbor. #DogsofLitsy #CopperBopper #WHPG #GriefLit
I had this on my library Libby eBook holds and too many came in at once. I delayed it and now! finally I can get to it. You may recall a recent post where I placed a block showing all the other great titles this compares to (but I got it confused with Cheerfully Refuse when I created the image 🤦🏻♀️) This pic shows all the mushrooms in my front yard after an all day rain.

Besides the Austens, my fave on this list is Vanity Fair. Thought it was a hoot!🦉🌟 📚
This jumped out at me when I was trying to find an available audio thru my library‘s Libby collection.
Just finished, this being our last day of a 6-day trek from KS thru MO+KY to a wedding in TN. Homeward bound took us more southern thru AL, MS, LA to last night with friends in AR. These flowers are at her house 💖 I started this book in earnest, thanking the road gods that I can read in a moving vehicle. LOVED this! Adored Rainy & Lark, eager/scared to follow escape and trials of sailing “Flower” to freedom unknown. #May2025 Book42 #dystopia
“… our job always and forever (is) to refuse Apocalypse in all its forms and work cheerfully against it.” #Resist #PushbackagainsttheNonsense
I also like “Her kindness was like water over smooth stones.” #BeKind
Pic of Louisiana bayou.
@Meshell1313 is having a giveaway!! Go to her page to check it out and help her celebrate #100kpages❗️(am posting under this tagged title because she did…)
Sharing a title on my tbr that I have been meaning to read for TOO LONG. And it has many pages 😳
I will likely audio it. I like chunkster audiobooks.
Congratulations Michelle and thanks for sharing your dreams and encouraging mine 🤩
“I liked imagining F‘s world, … its appreciation for pies, its competent mariners and tonking diesels.”
LOVE all the pie references and this is now in the running for my annual Pie in Literature award 🏆
(Ignore the other block! I got confused 😵💫)
#ThreeListThursday @dabbe
57 which includes a few DNFs. I once carried around an old and old-smelling paperback of Rushdie‘s Midnight Children and finally got rid of it. #someday
I had Pratchett‘s The Color of Magic out from the library but it was returned before I read it. #sigh
No one cheerfully refuses pie! Yesterday was Blueberry Pie Day, but I made a mixed fruit crumb top instead.
A break from all my backgrounds of spring flowers. My first Lief Enger; this is for the Tournament of Favorites. I volunteered to be an alternate judge.
Honestly, this one is tough. I don‘t think I want to be as smart/clever as this one might require. Did I read every word on every page? No, I did not. Am I glad I attempted? Sure. 😐 If you want to be a Percival Everett completist, I recommend a good trial looksee at the format or trap yourself on a beach with no other books, maybe. 😂 It is absurdist philosophy or true brilliance, if you dare trust this poor simpleton‘s opinion. It is amusing…

Look at this amazing tree! It is a Bristly Locust
And, I very much enjoyed this book. 🐦⬛ I think Maggie Stiefvater is pretty good at what she does.
#Apr2025 Book39
Our city‘s Big Read book for this year; I am glad that our book club selected and decided to participate. The person who suggested it told us she is looking forward to our thoughts and this has me intrigued that she has THOUGHTS — I am eager to discuss. I regretfully turned it back to the library so I won‘t have a copy and I failed to record if it had pie, I did not note the quotes I liked. 😢 more…⬇️
Had a GREAT time on my “Me Adventure” exploring the #IndieBookstoreDay crawl. I somehow lost my punchcard after the third stop and though I visited the 4th stop, it was SO PACKED with PEOPLE that I decided just to go home. However! There were few cars at the downtown USPS so I stopped to buy $92+ worth of stamps!! 🧐🤓💌📬🤩😎 No line, a super nice clerk and they still had John Lewis stamps. MAKE GOOD TROUBLE
Celebrating Indie Bookstore Day: purchased Blue Ruin for this year‘s Tournament of Favorites and they gave me the Supersonic. Posing in front of a pretty mural across the street from my next stop (which isn‘t open yet! 🤨) #ibd #indiebookstoreday
Always early! Ten minutes til I begin the Indie Bookstore Crawl in ICT KS
I suppose there‘s a hashtag I should be using 😔
Next audiobook for me - after an exhaustive search of recent tbr adds, this was available and under 15 hours. I have heard Stiefvater speak at a Book Festival and have had this on my want-to-read list for too long.
Pic of a detour in Ellsworth area of KS.
I liked this; giving it a pick. Heard say that this might not be the author‘s best work so I guess I am impressed enough to try more of her stories.
I laughed at times, and I cried at the end. I appreciated that explanations were deftly unrolled as the tangled histories were discovered. This book was what I needed right now. #Apr2025 Book37
Pic of Wisteria, I adore Wisteria and would LOVE to have some in my yard. 🌺❤️
Wichita KS Big Read for this year. My book club selected this for May discussion.
Just in, InterLibrary Loan JoCoKS, very excited about checking off another PE. Somebody almost famous said this was their favorite. Hope I am smart enough 😳 “… an answer—and an antidote— to not only what ails the Academy, but what ails a society without the self-knowledge to satirize itself.” (-Carol Muske-Dukes)

A friend @Nutmegnc sent me books! Out of the blue!! Hoppy Easter 🐣 Thank you, Dear Friend! 😊 Note 📝 to be sent next week sometime, hopefully -- off to Nebraska to see the in-laws.
Lauren Groff says, “A starkly gorgeous story of God and loss and art and love…” Here we go 😈
Just wanted to post a quote! 😂 This whole paragraph is full of interesting thoughts…
#CampLitsy25 🏕️ 📚 🗓️ 🌟 🎉
ALL of these titles have been submitted already so just consider this my addition to the excitement.
I needed an audiobook - this popped up available from Libby. I have finally put my Audible acct on pause. First time to read this author. #SpringTulips 🌷
What a short lil wonderful hug of a story. Just nice, nothing too shocking, the ebbs and flows of a human life, messy lived and messy reflected upon, and uncertain going forward. Take a chance on love 💕 (admit and forgive mistakes)
#Apr2025 Book33 #LitPie #iLovePie #FamilyDrama
Starting this on audio; not sure what I expected but it‘s different! “Okay good” different- I am enjoying so far ( and already three different pie mentions 🌟)
I loved the show! Casting and acting is terrific. Thought the book might be fun, too 🤩
However, it is SO much like the show, that… I prefer watching.
#Apr2025 Book 32
Family + odd connections; reality versus alternative “what-if” timelines. This is a wild ride of a ghost story! Someday, I want to sit on a beach 🏖️ or on a boat 🛥️ and have Station 11 + this + Sea of Tranquility & FIGURE OUT HOW THESE CONNECT 😂 I really enjoyed following Vincent and her peripheral orbits. #Apr2025 Book31
“… a sensation like recognizing a familiar face in an old photograph: in a sea of faces that mean nothing, one comes into focus. You.”
Take a nap or start a book off my shelves? Copper votes, “Nap”. I will read a few pages and see what happens.
IF I am driving on the roadtrip to CO, I am hoping my passengers will join me in listening to this. #bookclub #AppleCrumbPie #iLovePie #CaresPieShow
Packing for a weekend trip to Colorado mountains ⛰️
Picked up this in hardcover from the library bookstore to read on the drive (IF I am not being “driver”) #classic #WiaN2025 category Wanderlust
“Lives, as flimsy as fabric, could be snipped capriciously with the shears of random moments of self-interest.”
Lounging with my library book, under the electric blanket, watching the sad news about measles outbreaks and banned Bradford Pear trees. Work was busy and I want a nap. 😴 Looking forward to a nice dinner 🍽️ prepared by my chef husband and watching Severance 📺
