This novella is a fast, fun read at just around 100 pages. A group of acquaintances (not even they would call themselves friends…exactly) meet every night in a graveyard when they all step out of their jobs for a smoke. One night they find a hole…where there wasn‘t one the night before. That hole taken together with a mysterious outbreak of sudden acts of violence by people in town demands answers…which involves rats &…more. As I said, a fun read.
A group of insomniacs meet nightly in a graveyard. One night they start to notice some odd things. Mushrooms, clinical trials, and fresh graves aren‘t adding up to an easy answer. The cover of this one makes it look much scarier than it was. It was a bit too short to feel invested in the story or the characters and I was left wanting more.
Took my mom to Barnes & Noble to get her some books for her birthday…and came home with a few for myself. 😬 Surprising absolutely no one I might add…. Tagged book has been in my radar for awhile. Mom recommended Orbital and I‘ve seen a lot about Butter here and other places so I decided to give it a go.
This was an interesting novella about a group of people who meet in the local graveyard to smoke and stumble on a cover-up.

1-- I am flying through the tagged book.
2-- my tree skirt is nearly done.
3-- my #auldlangspine reads are easy to track down.
4-- #bluesky is starting to get more lively.
5-- I'm enjoying rewatching Rizzoli and Isles, as well as CSI and The Closer/Major Crimes.
I was enjoying the story, and then…
It ended. Not very satisfying.
I feel there was more to tell.
Oh well. ⭐️ ⭐️ 1/2
This was not good, which is disappointing as I really liked the authors book - We Were Villains.
The characters were not only unlikeable, they were boring. 1.5⭐️
#bookspin pick done!

I don't really have favorite songs. My favorite artists are Cher, Nickelback, Kansas, Boston, Ambrosia, Taylor Swift, and Arrogant Worms. My top is Faun.
My current read is most like the song taking care of business by Bachman-Turner Overdrive
Meh. I liked their other book way better. Might be too hyped and got my expectations too high.
Starting this one tonight. Hopefully this get me out of my slump.
Listened to the audio and got a little lost with the changing character points of view. Had some beautiful turns of phrase but ultimately felt like listening to a movie script more than anything else which isn‘t my jam.
It‘s spooky, scary skeleton season and my #Litsypenpal delivered the goods in style once again this year! Can‘t wait to dive into these books @Beck9lol - A couple of these have been on my radar and two are ‘new to me‘ titles. Love the spooky sponges, ghostie bath bomb and pen, candle and scarf gift set from The London Seance Society! Thanks so much Becky and Happy Halloween/All Saints Day to all! 🎃👻
Enjoyed my #TBRtarot pick this month- perfect time to read this novella! A cute (horror?) story about a group of people who become friends after meeting up all the time for cigarette breaks in an abandoned cemetery and then one night a new hole appears. They go about solving the mystery. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ 1/2
This one is an ok novella.
Read for a reading challenge.
3.5/5
These are the words I found in Graveyard Shift for 225pts.

I really enjoyed this short horror novel. It takes place in one evening and easily be read in the same amount of time. The novel focuses on the Anchorites, a rag-tag bunch of insomniacs, who smoke at night at the local graveyard. One night they found that someone is digging a hole and try to solve the mystery. 4.5 stars
This is my #BookScavengerHunt entry for #Dark.

I want to read the new ML Rio novella, but I absolutely HATE the cover.
Almost as much as I hate this edition of Monika Kim's "The Eyeballs are the Best Part":

Not as much as I hate the US cover of Brainwyrms ??
It's a GOOEY MELTING RAT with FUNGUS. I hate it so much that instead of posting it, I have substituted a pic of Alan Cumming in a ridiculous jewelled poncho.
A strange premise, interesting characters, a slow reveal, and an unsatisfying ending make this a frustrating read. Thanks to Edelweiss and the publisher for a review copy.
Another preorder showed go up today! This will be a quick read since it‘s a little over 134 pages. The cover is giving me T.Kingfisher vibes!
