My sister makes and sells these prints inspired by The Handmaid‘s Tale. So excited to hang this up in my cubicle :) https://www.etsy.com/shop/briobr

tojuxtapose I really love this. 6y
kaitlyn @KCCOkatey such a great quote from the show. I added the Etsy link in the description in case anyone was looking for it :) 6y
tojuxtapose @kaitlyn I saw that and I had to go get myself one. 😂 6y

When you go on vacation to the U.K. and come back with too many books because their cover art is just too good.

LauraBrook 9 isn't too bad! Whenever I eventually get to the U.K., I plan on shipping boxes back, filling an empty suitcase, or both! 7y
kaitlyn @LauraBrook I was regretting not bringing an extra suitcase to hold them all! & I definitely support this :) 7y
Craftylikefox I love seeing the different covers and I am usually jealous of the UK covers. 6y

tpixie I agree- the UK 🇬🇧 covers are better than USA 🇺🇸 covers!! Why don‘t they realize we what the same cover??Even the first Harry Potter book I like the name so much better ‘philosopher stone‘ is so much more accurate. 6y
Peaslady I never got along with White Teeth even though it‘s the book that made Zadie Smith a household name. The ones I have loved by her were On Beauty and Swing Time, which if you liked Americanah I think you‘d love. 6y
KateFulfordAuthor May I tempt you with another?! Can I recommend my debut novel to you - a sassy female narrative, laugh out loud page after page, well drawn characters and a precision plot. See my bio for links to a summary, reviews and more. And a lovely cover! With thanks, Kate. 6y

To hang on from day to day and from week to week, spinning out a present that had no future, seemed an unconquerable instinct, just as one's lungs will always draw the next breath so long as there is air available.

Chris Riddell's illustrations warm my heart

8leagueboot He has been my favorite illustrator since he worked on The Edge Chronicles! 8y
TheWordJar I just picked this up the other day. I didn't realize the illustrations were such a big part of the book before I flipped through it. Can't wait to enjoy the story and the illustrations! 8y
rwrkb Love this book. And Chris Riddell is the best. 8y
Riveted_Reader_Melissa I listened to the audiobook of this which was fantastic... Now I need to look for and check out a printed version and check out the illustrations! 8y

overlyattachedreader That must have been such an awesome experience! I remember having the worst time reading the last part of The Book Thief, because I couldn't stop crying! 8y
kaitlyn I couldn't stop crying either - and neither could Zusak when he wrote it! He said he bawled his eyes out working on part ten - it hurt to write but he loved writing it. @taryn 8y

The Virgin Suicides | Jeffrey Eugenides

Drunk, and kissing us, or passing out in chairs, they were bound for college, husbands, child-rearing, unhappiness only dimly perceived - bound, in other words, for life.

kaitlyn When a quote hits you right in the gut. Highly recommended - Eugenides' prose is beautiful and haunting. 8y
SGJ This and American Psycho were the books of the nineties, for me. Maybe Lord of the Barnyard too. Okay, maybe The Things They Carried, too. The nineties were a good time to be reading. Got a list here, if linking works: http://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/20-best-books-of-the-90s_b_5110765.htm 8y

bookstacksonstacks Omg I'm in NYC, what is this?! 8y
kaitlyn @bookstacksonstacks so sorry for the delayed reply - I just saw this! Puffs is a show at the Pitt that retells the trio's 7 years at hogwarts through the Hufflepuffs' perspective. It's amazing/laugh out loud funny. I'd definitely recommend going to see it if you're a HP fan⚡️ 8y

Listening to my first audiobook ever thanks to Book Riot's #readharder challenge

jeff Awesome. I am all about having a book handy for all occasions. Time to get some audio books in the mix. Thanks for the rec! 😀📚 8y

2015 was the first year I tracked my reading. Looking for recommendations for 2016! #seasonsreadings

todd Does one book rise to the top of your 2015 stack? 8y
kaitlyn Hm... I thought the Book Thief was lovely, & Confederacy of Dunces was pleasantly frustrating. Also I just finished Devil in the White City, and it's convinced me I need to read more nonfiction. I only bailed on Infinite Jest I think (one day!) 8y
Connie How did you like carry on? I bailed on rainbow rowell's landline but maybe I should give her another chance? 🤔 8y

kaitlyn Thanks for the recommendation! Just added it to my TBR list @Tav 8y
kaitlyn Thanks! @joe_hill this year I'm working on Book Riot's 2016 Read Harder Challenge. I'd recommend checking it out if you're trying to branch out/challenge yourself to read new genres/authors :) 8y

Did you guys know there is a hashtag called #potteritforward, where readers leave notes to future readers in library books? Love.

Connie I wish this hashtag existed the first time I read hp! 😮 It would've made the experience even better (is that even possible?) 8y
