So I grabbed this super fun board game that's basically a Choose Your Own Adventure card game!!! You play by reading through a story called House of Danger, picking up clues and making story decisions. We got through 2 chapters out of 5 tonight. ❤

tessavi Oh!I never heard of that one. If you like choose your own adventure boardgames, I would recommend Time Stories. 6y
IamIamIam @tessavi Thanks so much! I'll definitely check it out!!! This was a random find in Target and there was no way I was passing it up! 🤣 6y
Mdargusch It sounds like fun! 6y
IamIamIam @Mdargusch It's a lot of fun!!! It's a bit much for the kids but I think it's good for their summer atrophied brains! 🤣 6y

#MakeMeReadIt @TheReadingMermaid

The Luminaries
The General in His Labyrinth
Molloy (just Molloy for now- if I read three Beckett novels in a row my head would likely explode)
If on a Winter's Night a Traveler

I would love to have your votes on which to read first in August. I'll read the runner-up next (not sure if I can commit to 3rd and 4th place, but we'll see 🙄).

Thanks! 😃

Billypar @keys_on_fire Nice- glad to swap Marquez picks with you 😀 6y
keys_on_fire I just noticed that we did that! 😂 6y

@cobwebmoth is doing a wonderful giveaway: to enter by anyone, anywhere should repost about it, &choose what you want to win - a gift card, a box of goodies or 2 books from Book Depository. So awesome!

Our giveaway girl lives in Ohio, & I live in the U.K. I‘m going to choose a gift card (for Amazon.co.uk if that‘s ok?) so I can get myself a box of goodies & she doesn‘t have to pay shipping! I need more books like I need a hole in my head! 😊

-This one is really tough! I'm not a giant fantasy reader, but several of my favorite genres have unrealistic elements. So, fantasy.
-Elizabeth Bennett. I haven't read either book, but from what I understand, Jane Eyre might be a bit too intense for me.

Kalalalatja Number 4 was the hardest for me as well! 7y
saresmoore Good choice on Elizabeth Bennet. Bad choice on not reading P&P! Get on it, Scott! 7y

Any thoughts on which to read first, Littens? As if I don't have enough books started already, these two book holds came in this morning. I hope to be able to get through both since I have a little vacation coming up, but in case I can only do one, I was wondering which one Littens prefer! Thanks! 😘

Reviewsbylola I loved Lillian! Haven't read the Hawkins yet. 7y
Books_Wine_Repeat I've only read Lillian Boxfish and I love it! She's awesome! 7y
TheWordJar Thanks, @Reviewsbylola @Books_Wine_Repeat! I think I'm definitely feeling in a more Lillian mood. 7y
minkyb They are so different. I loved Lillian. Into the Water was good. Keep a list of the characters. It will help. 7y

How I wish I knew about the "chose your own adventure" books before my kids started having children. Perhaps they would have been drawn into books the way I am - and developed a love of reading that lasts a lifetime.
