Happy Friday! The little one surprised me by sleeping in this morning, so I grabbed my kindle and my monitor and settled in with my coffee ?
As much as I love the idea of setting a cozy mystery at a beer brewery, it annoys me that the MC constantly refers to the young woman her husband cheated on her with as "the beer wench," but has no shamey nickname for him ?
What great beer names! I'm a stout gal myself, so that Cherry Cordial has me drooling 🤤... though I love a good summer ale too.
Geez, this beer-themed cozy mystery is giving me serious cravings lol 🍻
Multitasking kinda morning 📚👶🏽☕️
Got my happy baby, my cozy book, and just outta frame, my lukewarm coffee... because what new mom can finish her coffee while it's still hot??? Lol
Happy Friday 🎉
IT WASN‘T SO MUCH THE sight of my husband‘s bare ass that would become permanently etched in my memory, but rather the rhythmic sounds of the German brass band oompah-ing in the background, coupled with the strong, but delicious smell of grains steeping in the mash tun.
😅 a beer-infused cozy mystery. Just what I need this weekend. #FirstLineFridays
This cozy was the perfect fall read… set just before Oktoberfest 🍁🍺 Leavenworth is beautifully portrayed too.
1. This is an entertaining mystery set in a brewpub on the eastern side of the Cascade mountains in #Washington State.
2. The Cascades are beautiful. So are the San Juan Islands, which are best seen by boat.

Thanks to airport and flight time (quick work trip), I‘m now on my third book in 2.5 days. The good parts of air travel! Have a great evening everyone! 💚

In the Tagged book, pubs making craft beer or selling it, are featured. I learned so much about what goes into making craft beer! The Cracker Barrel is the pub at the end of my street. A gathering place for sports watching, meetings, neighborhood fun, motor cyclists, and even our HS end of year staff party. (pre Covid)
Loving my #Roll100 picks for March.
I just learned about the tagged book in a letter from @CoffeeNBooks that I‘m super excited about. The Seed Keeper was a gift card purchase that has gotten lots of love.
Jo, I love that you roll and post early so they can be part of my #BookSpin list.
Litsy made me read this one! It was book three that caught my eye- Beyond a Reasonable Stout (stouts and porters are the only beers I like), and I just really enjoyed this first one. It's a cozy mystery that doesn't depend on the heroine accusing everyone and putting herself at risk. The cops are just fumbling idiots either. I really liked the plot and the main characters and can't wait to start book 2!

A cute beginning to a new cozy series. Sloan Krause is a brewer in Washington state and finds her husband canoodling with a barmaid at their German themed pub. Later another brewer is going floating in the tank at Sloan‘s new place of employment and all signs point to her cheating husband. I loved the talk of different types of craft beers and the Krause family. I‘ll definitely read the next in the series.
🍺 This was such a fun cozy mystery! Sloan finds a dead body floating in the fermenting tub of the local brewery where she works, and her recently- estranged husband, Mac, becomes the prime suspect. Despite her anger at him, she's sure he's not capable of murder, so she tries to figure out who the real murderer is.
Starting Day 2 of #20in4 #Readathon with a mystery in a brewery. 🍺

I‘m done with housework! Reading a mystery about a microbrewery…while in a microbrewery.

From a cozy mystery series with beer brewing: 🍻 MC:
“I discovered a photo of Icicle Creek at the bottom of the box. Icicle Creek originates at Lake Josephine and flows from the Cascade Mountains until it meets the Wenatchee River here in Leavenworth. I mounted the photo on the board with two magnets and wrote a quote that I‘d heard Hans repeat many times beneath it: ‘History flows forward on a river of beer.‘”
Another homerun cozy for Alexander and this one is set in the world of craft beer!! Her books are so likable and incredibly readable! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I have crossed everything off of my to-do list for the day so I am going to take advantage of the beautiful afternoon and do some deck reading!! #summerlovin
So exciting, new author/ series for me to love! Great, easy little cosy mystery!!

Sloan feels about the craft of brewing like I do about the craft of cooking. It‘s therapy. 🤗
“The thought of brewing made me smile. There was something about the methodical process of following each critical step in crafting a beer that was like therapy for me. I could certainly use a healthy dose of therapy right now.”
#QuotsyFeb20 #copper
“We navigated past twenty-foot copper kettles imported from Europe. When I hosted brewery tours, the copper kettles were always one of the highlights. Beer lovers would ooh and ahh when I‘d explain the kettles weren‘t just for show. The type of metal, the way it was welded together, and its shape could greatly influence the taste of beer.”
Another great cozy mystery by EllIe Alexander! Love that this is set around beer! Once again she develops characters that make you feel like they are friends of yours, and when the book is over, you are sad. And anxiously awaiting the next one in the series. And the next one just came out in October!
What a great cozy! Couldn‘t put it down. Ellie‘s writing is so comfortable and she creates such likeable characters. I hope the next one takes place during Oktoberfest. 🍻

Day 2 of freezing rain hibernation here in southern Ontario. Juno and I are curling up with this cozy and we‘re just flying through it.

I‘m ready for book two! Liked Sloan and enjoyed the details on brewing beer. Looks like a strong start to a new series.
Picked up this gem from the library this morning. Super psyched! 🤓 #ilovecozies #cozymystery #librarygirl #timhortons
A fun cozy mystery set in the Bavarian-styled town of Leavenworth, Washington. Great setting & theme (beer), but the mystery aspect was very light. This didn‘t really bother me because I enjoyed the setting and theme so much, but those looking for a lot of mystery may be disappointed. I voluntarily reviewed an eARC provided by the publisher via NetGalley.
Such a great beginning to this new cozy mystery series! I found this book to be a delight and cannot wait to read more in this series! I would have never thought that I would find the process of brewing beer this interesting but I did - and want more! Easily recommended!!
Monday reading and book #1 for the Bout of Books read-a-thon. #boutofbooks #currentlyreading
Happy Friday! It is a perfect day for a new #cozymystery

I wasn't sure about this one, because beer brewing isn't something that is remotely interesting to me. That said, I loved this cozy. It's set in a little town in the PNW that resembles a German village, and is called Beervaria because of all the breweries. Sloan is a great character, and has a great head on her shoulders. The setting is charming, the characters are warm and friendly. Pretty much everything you want in a great cozy mystery.
