While this book is set within the world of craft beer, it is a story about a fractured family and the strength and tenacity of three women. It‘s an amazing read.

pickAn enjoyable book especially if you like beer, have brewed beer, or have shared a home with someone who has brewed beer. This is a story of two sisters who haven‘t spoken in decades. It is also the story of some very resilient, hardworking women who don‘t complain about the hand life has dealt them.
pickI really enjoyed the story, but I would NOT recommend the audiobook. The narrator's voices for most of the characters were terrible, and I found her voice in general to be irritating.

I really enjoyed this one! It's so different than anything I might typically read but it was really refreshing. I now know more about beer than I ever expected I would. Satisfying.
pickThis is the story of 3 very determined, yet different women from the same family. For awhile I had a hard time pegging where this book was going. However, as told in varying viewpoints, Stradal pays great attention to detail. By the time you‘re done you really feel like you get to know each of these flawed women and and their motivation, even if you don‘t always agree with it. You also leave wanting to know a lot more about and/or drink more beer.

If you want to know about ale, lagers, IPAs, and beer, (and trust me, you do), esp. in that humorous Fargo tone (sans the murders), this utterly delightful book is for you. Marvelous! Perfect for fall, football, and when you need a lift, such as because you just took the boy to meet his dreams in Spain, with tears and smiles.

pickLiterally sat in my car outside my doctor‘s office until I finished this book. Loved it — it‘s funny and sad and clever and engaging, all at the same time. It‘s just filled with so much heart.

Judith Ivey narrating this tale is an absolute delight. I couldn‘t say whether her Minnesota accents are accurate but I sure am enjoying the heck out of them!

pickThis book was pretty special. Two sisters have a falling out after an inheritance and we follow them and one of the sister‘s granddaughters over decades of life. It had it all, beer, pie, tender hearted yet tenacious grandmas, the unknown things in life families do for each other without acknowledgement, the heartache and joy of life. Just so good. Pick!

I have been reading SO MUCH self-help/psychology/wellness lately and it has been essential, but I‘m glad to be bringing more fiction back into my life. I‘m loving both the #NYRBBookClub pick for the month and the tagged book, on recommendation from @LauraBeth —the two couldn‘t be more different!
pickI loved this book. I really enjoyed how the story of one family was weaved together. This is a book about three strong and passionate women and I enjoyed their story.
pick⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ All I can say is that this book was good for my soul. I adored @jryanstradal ‘s first book, KITCHENS OF THE GREAT MIDWEST, but I think I loved this one even more. I will admit that it hit a lot of personal notes with me, but that was just the icing on the cake. It‘s a family novel that contains a history, but never seems overly epic. And it is the perfect book to read while sitting in the backyard on a summer‘s evening.
