My grands loved these books.
“When you give him the milk, he‘ll probably ask you for a straw”
I love this book for kids. I love how each event that happens, the mouse requests something else as well!
This story describes a series of events that occur after a young boy gives a mouse a cookie. The mouse is given the cookie which makes him ask for a class of milk, making him ask and do many more things. Every event that occurs makes the mouse want something new.
This book is about a little mouse who keeps asking for something else once he gets a cookie. If you give a mouse a cookie, he will ask for a glass of milk and so on.
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie is a children's book written by Laura Numeroff and illustrated by Felicia Bond, first published in 1985 by Harper and Row. This book has won the hearts of children and parents everywhere, with its lovable characters and delightful prose.
“If you give a mouse a cookie, he's going to ask for a glass of milk. When you give him the milk, he'll probably ask for a straw.“
Wish it was cool enough to bake homemade cookies!
For all that the proverb(?) is popular enough to wheedle its way into a 90s action movie like Air Force One, I can't ever recall reading the book. As one might expect, it's a delight. I enjoy the fact that among the demanding actions of the mouse are its industrious efforts in house cleaning - I would certainly lend woodland creatures the supplies if they were going to clean my apartment!
If you go on vacation and your refrigerator leaks, you‘ll need to replace your floors. When new floors are installed, you decide to wipe down the cabinets. If you wipe the cabinets and things start to look clean, you notice your walls need painted, less than a week before Christmas! What have I gotten myself into! At least there‘s audio books! #AllThatSheCarried

I think both of these were gifts from teachers when I was in elementary school but I don‘t actually remember.
Bedtime for Frances has a note written in it from my kindergarten teacher which is cool.

This MF book is a classic! I read this book growing up and it‘s just adorable. The book teaches about cause and effect and choices. Linked is a resource that allows students to compete a story plot by cutting and pasting pictures in the order they came in the book. This can be completed after doing a SR.

This F book was super cute to read. It was about a little mouse and what happens when he has a cookie. It talks about a variety of different tasks he completes and it leads him back to another glass of milk and of course another cookie. This book one the Georgia Children‘s Picture Storybook Award. Children will love this book as a read aloud in a circle on the carpet.
This classic book HAD to be my last review. I decided to do NUMEROFF as my AS and I realized how wonderful of an author she is. This book is perfect for an AS but in a special way. You can have students learn about the specific ways she writes and have students create their own “If you give” books. This is fun and engaging and students love it! #ucflae3414sp20
“If You Give A Mouse A Cookie” by Laura Joffe Numeroff is such a funny F book to perform a RA with! This book is about a very demanding little mouse who after receiving a cookie, wants a glass of milk, a straw, a napkin, etc! #UCFLAE3414F19
#ucflae3414f19 If You Give A Mouse A Cookie written by Laura Joffe Numeroff and illustrated by Felicia Bond was always such a fun book for me growing up. This children's F PB was a NYT best sellers and was first published in 1985.
“If you give a mouse a cookie, he‘s going to ask for a glass of milk.”
I really enjoy this series of books about the mouse and what will happen if you give him something! It goes from that one object all the way to something that doesn‘t even relate back to it!
If You Give A Mouse. A Cookie by Laura Joffre Numeroff, 1985. Through the illustrations in this book, we can see just what happens when you give a mouse a cookie! The pictures in the book are detailed all the way down to things like labels on cereal boxes to knickknacks in the kitchen. The illustrations create a sort of movie like feel as we can see details in the actions and environment of the mouse and boy.
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff is a great MF kids book about the slippery slope of the simple act of sharing a cookie. It is very cute and can be shared around class with students.

Today is our grandson‘s fifth birthday. Of course there‘s a book in his gift bag! This was one of my favorites to read with our kids. I hope he likes it as much as his mommy did.
“And thats what happens.... when you give a mouse a cookie.”
My illustrations of the mouse and cookies are the cutest!!
This book is a great read for younger children! I think they would really enjoy the aspect of the main character being a mouse and his favorite snack being cookies which can be relatable for some students. I also think the illustrations are really cute.
If You Give a Mouse a Cookie is written by Laura Numeroff and illustrated by Felicia Bond. In this book, a young boy gives a needy mouse a cookie. This MF book could be used in the classroom to entertain students and inform them that if they feed stray animals, they‘ll always want more. #ucflae3414su19
Laura Numeroff‘s, If You Give a Mouse a Cookie, is a MF book great for choral reading. In the popular tale, a mouse is given a cookie starting a spiral of requests. https://www.mousecookiebooks.com/activities/give-mouse-cookie-word-search/ This word search uses vocabulary from the story. The book and activity will cover UDL 1.1 and ESOL strategy 5. #ucflae3414su19
I keep Charlotte home from daycare on Mondays and Fridays during the summer. Today we walked #Zeek to his summer program at his school. Now we are home eating breakfast and watching Amazons If You Give A Mouse A Cookie series that they adapted from Numeroff‘s books.

As I've been unpacking boxes of books that I've had stored for 10 years or so, I found this gem! A tiny version of this book with a polaroid of me (with a very weird expression on my face) with a little Mouse ornament. I suspect this is from my Barnes & Noble days & was taken by my best friend. 😆😆😆
this book is my all time favorite. I love the whole story line behind this book and how it all leads back to the very beginning of the book and the story can repeat over and over and over again.
“ if you give a mouse a cookie, he‘s going to ask for a glass of milk. When you give him the milk, he‘ll probably ask for a straw”
This book was one of the first out of a series of books. It talks about everything that could happen if you gave a mouse a cookie. It is full of adventures and imagination.
My birthday party is tomorrow so I ordered cookies from a place I really like. They exceed expectations. 😻
If you give a mouse a cookie he‘s going to ask for a glass of milk..and then a napkin, a mirror, a pair of scissors...he‘s really a very needy mouse. So maybe the moral of the story is that you shouldn‘t feed the wildlife? :p
published 1985. This is my favorite book. The words are very catchy and make kids want to keep reading. The illustrations are also very good. The illustrations go very well with the words on each page. And I really love how the book comes full circle to the mouse wanting another cookie and the cycle is going to start all over.
