Happy Tolkien Reading Day!
I celebrated reading the last chapters of The Hobbit (will post tomorrow about them).
It's a first step toward my goal to reading more Tolkien this year after reading almost nothing last year.
It was nice to be back 😁

A busy day means I‘ve hardly been on Litsy and I didn‘t get to post quotes for #ThereAndBackAgain, maybe tomorrow. However, I want to say that this year of reading Tolkien has been fantastic in rediscovering his world for myself as well as the wonderful insights and conversations. In that year I‘ve read all the books listed in the image, as well as The Story of Kullervo & listened to Tolkien and the Great War. I‘m looking forward to continuing!

Several of us started reading Tolkien‘s books almost a year ago with #LotRChapteraDay and a few of us are still reading them, currently book 4 of the History of Middle-Earth. We‘re celebrating reading almost daily for a year with a photo challenge in July. See the post by @JazzFeathers for all the details! It's almost a year ago when @freyaheart launched the #readalong of Tolkien's main work. There were tens of us that 18th July when we started off with The Hobbit. It was a fantastic journey, but as we read on more of Tolkien's 'lesser' work, reader dwindled.
In the end, only a handful of us remained @Riveted_Reader_Melissa @Daisey @InLibrisVeritas and myself.

So, gals, here's my idea for our celebration. We could organise a photo challenge inspired by the book originally included in the challenge. They were 5, plus the 18th, so it would be almost a week.
