There‘s no other book I could pick for #MakeAMemory Not only is it about memory & past lives, it‘s a memory for me as it was my very first Litsy post nearly 7 years ago. (On July 5th or 6th) Litsy considers my #Litsyversary to be in March when I signed up, but I consider it when I made that first post.

This one was a little dense for me. It jumped around a lot and historical fiction isn‘t normally my favorite genre. There were parts that were a bit dry for me but I really liked the concept of this book and the way it blended genres between sci fi, thriller and historic. The characters were interesting and the writing was well researched. I just didn‘t love the story.

A combination of feeling lazy & just getting home from doctors appointments, has me showing the books I have with 'memory' or 'memories' in the title. The 2 on the right are still in my #TBR stacks (on my Kindle) & the other 4 I've read.

Speaking of memories, the tagged book was the book I used in my very first Litsy post (in just about 2 months it will be 2 years!). It got 4 likes & 1 comment from... @MrBook !🤗🤣

Just a few of my favorite books of 2017!

5⭐️This is no ordinary book. It‘s a complex story which is beautifully crafted. It‘s a novel containing historical fiction, a medical thriller, science fiction, time travel and romance, all woven together in a unique and captivating way. Sale alert: I loved this book so I thought I would share that it's on sale.

Just in time for #Recommendsday: I loved this book! It's about art, love, reincarnation, and so much more. It held me captivated from start to finish! And today it's on sale for $2.99!

Not feeling the ❤️ with this one. The writing was a bit wooden in a lot of parts and the author seemed to have only a cursory knowledge of some of the things that were a focus of the book (painting, pharmaceutical research, ancient civilizations). As far as past life narratives go, there are a few books out there that handle it much better. See my alternate recommendations in the comments.

Next up . . . Starting this one tonight.

I'm already planning my Friday night. Fire, reading, wine. I need to start on The Memory Painter for book club and finish The Association of Small Bombs (which is kind of slowing down / dragging for me.)

Day9 #booktober #firsteverlitsypost 3 mos ago today (really!) I made my 1st Litsy post tho I'd been signed up for a few days after seeing a @BethFishReads blog post. My 1st post was onigiri 🍙(Japanese Rice Balls) from my blog book tour review & by the #24in48 readathon I was fully hooked. I still use Facebook to keep up w/ family & Twitter & Instagram for my blog but I use them less. Litsy is my❤️ & where I hang out & freely geek out on books! 📚

This was chosen for our next book club meeting by popular choice! We meet again in mid-September.

ISO Book Club Suggestions! My Book Club is meeting this Thursday night. I've seen The Memory Painter suggested, and I'm looking for other suggestions! Lay them on me. I'm going to make a library run today in addition to a small stack bringing from home.

Yesterday's book outlet mail!!! Woohoo!! I was only allowed 2 buy 2 books for myself, and one as a gift (that's wrapped already-The Sculptor). Iced coffee and books, could anything be better on a hot August morning?

An intriguing read! A painter starts having recollections of previous lives, coming to realize that people he knows shared in those previous reincarnations. Mysticism, destiny, philosophy, history, love and soulmates, all receive heavy contemplative space. You'll experience medieval Scandinavia, classical Japan, pre-historic Egypt, Enlightenment Europe, ancient India, and modern USA/Canada. Enjoyable! Pair with: Noah's Mill Bourbon, straight.

I've been sinking into this book for a few hours now. It's so intriguing: time travel of sorts (reincarnation?), lots of intricate weaving through past and present lives ...

Intriguing premise. Excellent job bringing history & events alive through the dreams/memories characters. Drug a bit in the middle--maybe too many spectacular lives ;-) & ending is set up of future book. Good overall. Paired w/ Onigiri (rice balls) Recipe & book tour review on Kahakai Kitchen blog

I loved this book. It was so good that when I finished it, I emailed the author to tell her I loved it and she emailed me back!!
