A lot of research is done in libraries in this book, and the others in the series.

I remember impulsively buying this from the WVU Bookstore. I didn‘t know anything about it and totally bought it on a whim. Then I ended up devouring it and finished it in one weekend 😊

For this second read, I am still fascinated by how Brown has woven fact and myth in a way where the line between is blurred. The weaving is flawless pulling you into this incredible ride that has you fully invested.

Love this copy of The DaVinci Code that I found at goodwill. Read it and then watched the movie. It mostly followed the book, but I had a great time pointing out all the tiny differences.
I can‘t think of any other books with #dungeon in it except for Dan Brown‘s 😅

Captured my interest right from the first page. Fast paced and intriguing, I instantly fell in love with the characters, the writing, and the story-line. Definitely recommend if you like a good mystery and detective story.

Day 173.
Here I will note 365 books (or as many as I will have before I get tired) that have shaped my taste in literature. No explanations, no reviews. Just the cover of the book.
I do not challenge anyone. You are all welcome to take part.
I remember watching National Treasure as a kid and then wondering if all the conspiracy stuff about the Founding Fathers is true - this book is the adult version of that! I don‘t want to give away too much of the plot, so I‘ll say this: what starts as a murder mystery changes as codes, secret societies, and hidden messages come to life through paintings and architecture. Will the secret be found, revealed, or destroyed? Depends who finds it first.
Enjoying my long weekend by starting a new book! I‘ve never read this one yet and never saw the movie, so I‘m really excited!
Going too slow just hit page 134 not the divine page no. but the page were it's written about the divine no. PHi
Certainly a controversial book, which was I read it. I haven't read much of thriller novels, but this is one of the best thriller novel. Considering it to be a work of fiction, I enjoyed reading it. It has a lot of controversial facts, but I read this as a thriller fiction novel. At the same time while considering it to be a non fiction, this book disappoints me. Anyhow it's worth a read. #litsy
Got my suprise book box today a bit disappointing but they are all books after all 📚 started re-reading the da vinci code for starters
Went antiquing with my brother and mom today and a couple of stores had a ton of books. Four books for $1 each!

Day 12: Paris
Robert Langdon finds himself enmeshed in another mystery looking for the Holy Grail.
It keeps your attention.
Forgot to post my final results from #JoyousJanuary. I hit my goal of three books and at least two hours a day. Helped ease the reading slump I was heading into as well. Thanks for hosting @Andrew65

❄ The Davinci Code! I've been on a Dan Brown kick recently!
❄ Not really, although I've mostly steered away from challenges and just read what I felt like, which means mostly fantasy!
❄ The Mystery Of Mrs Christie by Marie Benedict! It looks like a thriller/mystery based on Start a Christie! It looks amazing!

1) tagged and the sequel "The Lost Symbol" - interesting, ye-no; kept me on my toes, no. I could see through the mystery very early on. From there it felt like watching a Detective Colombo episode in Mission Impossible style.
2) I'd love to have a cozy book nook for any reading.
I read "Beach Read" on my balcony on one of those very warm summer days this year. (tagged ?)

Robert Langdon adventures will always be some of my favourites. I just love his style and the art history he adds to his novels.
No matter what people say about Dan Brown, it's still one of my #Top20Series
I've got the other 2 books kicking around here somewhere but my books are scattered all over the place right now 🤷♀️

It‘s been a while since I read this book, but I enjoyed it even more this second time than I did the first. It certainly doesn‘t hurt that so many people act as if this book came from the theology section instead of the fiction section. A story that gets people‘s feathers up because they‘re too busy taking themselves far too seriously: what‘s not to love?!

Well, this certainly changes the scene. Too bad I didn‘t remember this bit while we were reading Julius Caesar for the #shakespearereadalong.

So true. I suppose it‘s one of the “sane ones” that was honest enough about his craft to write this.

This shouldn‘t shock anyone.

I read this way back in the day when it came out. Lots of hype back then but I thought it was warranted. I even liked the movie! 😀
"Men go far greater lengths to avoid what they fear than to obtain what they desire."
" What really matters is what you believe in. *
" Learning the truth has become my life's love. "
And the most hilarious fact pointed by the book:
" Authors, he thought. Even the sane ones are nuts." ???
Time taken: 7hrs
Recollecting quotes from my very first mystery novel.
After I finished The Da Vinci Code, I was surprised to find that I didn‘t enjoy it as much as the prequel Angels and Demons. Nevertheless, it was a fast paced novel that was extremely hard to put down. I highly recommend it!
