It‘s been a while since I‘ve read a classic mystery/thriller type book. I had almost forgotten how good it felt to get those “Omg, no way!” type of moments. That small adrenaline spike and moment of pure awestruck. Coben perfected that affect in this book and it made me so sincerely happy. A perfectly crafted puzzle, this one. I can‘t wait to read more of his books. I sincerely loved every minute of reading this, cover to cover. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Moving into my second book of the year! This book was actually gifted to me as a “blind date with a book” for Christmas! Harlan Coben is one of my Dad‘s favorite authors and this will be the first book I‘ve read by him, so I‘m super stoked to give this one a go!
Stayed up all night, while on holiday, to finish this well-crafted thriller! Highly recommend this smart page-turner. While we do eventually solve the mystery of who killed the shady drug dealer ruining daughter Paige‘s life, and meet a sympathetic hit man, the book is a poignant look at what addiction can do to a seemingly “perfect family.” #thriller #5stars #mystery #murder #addiction
Such a good day with such a good book! Coben shines. Again. #masterofsuspense #maine #getaway
Love his books so this was a no-brainer! Happy family torn apart by drug-using eldest daughter begins the action, which doesn‘t let up until the bitter end! Constant action, family musings, many “huh?” moments! You can‘t go wrong with his novels!
Typical Harlan Coben Fayre, but so good to spend some time being totally consumed by one of his books. As usual an ordinary man is drawn into a crisis event by circumstances. He gets you from the very first page, and he is still the master of the twists, although I did pick up on some on this occasion. I thoroughly recommend all books by one of my favourite authors. He really knows how to tell a good story. Can‘t wait for the next one.
Starting to read Run Away by Harlan Coben, which I am reading with @Tove_Reads and @EadieB this week. All welcome to join us.
You can never go far wrong with Harlan Coben.
I am also reading this as part of the #MarvellousMay Readathon

You've lost your daughter. She's addicted to drugs and to an abusive boyfriend. And she's made it clear that she doesn't want to be found. Then, quite by chance, you see her busking in New York's Central Park. But she's not the girl you remember. This woman is wasted, frightened and clearly in trouble. You don't stop to think. You approach her, beg her to come home. She runs.
Suspenseful. Every parents worst nightmare. Your child in college that has everything going for them somehow becomes a drug addict. How far would you go to protect your child?
I usually can predict outcomes but this one kept me in suspense. I give it 4/5 stars. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ #suspense #summerreading #fiction #bestseller
This was between a pick and a so-so for me. The book kept me engaged to the very end, but not without it‘s hiccups. There was one moment where a character DEFINITELY should‘ve been dead, but said character is somehow alive. At that point I just rolled my eyes. Other than that, this was a good thriller from Coben. I haven‘t read any of his other books except for Home.

A perfect family is shattered when their daughter goes missing in this “brilliantly executed“ New York Times best-selling thriller from a “master storyteller“ (Providence Sunday Journal).
Really enjoyed this one. Was guessing "who dunit" until the end. Interesting cast of characters and engrossing storyline.

A while since I‘ve read one of my favourite authors, so here goes!
Intense and entertaining!
I will admit it took me a few chapters to really get into it, but after the halfway point, I loved the storyline and the ending.
Basically, Simon‘s oldest daughter is a junkie, who has run away, and Simon and his wife will do anything to get her back. Even if that means literally stepping right into danger.
There was a “twist,” that I had not seen coming but really held my attention! I would recommend this to anyone.
This books was really enjoyable, kept me guessing and wondering right the way through. 🙂 I also was not expecting that little twist at the end. Great 👍 #HarlanCoben. #Runaway.
#Runaway. #HarlanCoben. Finished The Institute by Stephen King this morning. So I‘ve started this now 🙂 Run Away by Harlan Coben. Really enjoying this - new to me - author.
I‘ve been meaning to read another Harlan Coben after “Tell No One,” and I‘m happy I did! It‘s about a father trying to find his estranged daughter Paige, while also getting wrapped up in the murder of her hated boyfriend that made her a junkie. I love his writing style - this was a real page-turner for me. Or Paige-turner, if you will. (Ba dum tsss)
I‘m going to make a confession. I never read the bad guys point of view. With Harlan Coben's writing I don‘t need to. His main characters are all I need. He does an amazing job of making the reader care about the MCs. RUN AWAY is not different. Great read. Someday I hope I'll be even half as good a story teller as he is.
Enjoyable if you‘re a fan of Coben. For me there was a “wow” factor missing from me to make it a “pick”. I didn‘t enjoy the narrations other than Simon. The twists were there and delivered but I‘ve just read too many of this genre to say this was the best.
Read such a page turner after a very long time 😍
Though I figured out the plot in the middle of the book, it was entertaining to find out how it unravels to the protagonist
I did solve the twist early on, but there were still enough surprises that caught me off guard. This was classic Coben/ good banter, plenty of action and some whacky👖 storylines. If you‘re looking for some mindless #BrainCandy Coben delivers 🧠 🍭
It‘s been awhile since I‘ve read a Harlan Coben and this one is NOT disappointing!! All the wit and thrill you come to expect from a Coben novel & the narrator is fantastic.
@CindyMyLifeIsLit I love EVERYTHING in my #screamathon box. Thank you SO much!!! @4thhouseontheleft
This was my first book of Coben's, and it was a pretty great one to start with, IMO. I really didn't see that ending coming, to say the least. If his style is this thriller-type stuff, I can definitely see reading more of his works in the future.
I really enjoyed the turns in this book and trying to figure out how everything tied together. It laid out the story well and wasn't full of too much fluff. I didn't feel like the book rushed the ending, which I see often in a lot of books. Well thought out.
What did you all think? For me it‘s a - must read! It‘s been a long time since I read a book and just could not wait to tell people about it !! The relationship between the stories and the characters made this a quick read. The history of the characters and the relationship between Paige, Simon, Aaron and Ingrid made the ending a complete surprise for me.
Just finished this one and enjoyed it. Coben is one of my favorite authors ❤️
“It‘s just that you come highly recommended,” Thorpe said by way of explanation. Meaning he expected something a little more polished for his money – not a pudgy Mexican barely 5 feet tall in mom jeans and practical shoes. These guys heard her name and expected Penelope Cruz or a lithe flamenco dancer not someone who resembled the summer help at their Beachhouse. 💜 that this description is of the best PI in this book! But shame on him!
Wanna read. Can anyone give the epub link of this book?
This book was well written and drew me in right away. The story was interesting but there were some downsides. The father's extreme wealth seemed to make it a lot easier for him to get information. I did not really care for the description of the relationship between husband and wife; too empty. Some things were repetitive. I figured out the ending too quickly. It wasn't a bad book, but you could probably find something better to read.
