A lovey book club brunch this morning… lovely food, lovely discussion and lovely friends! #sushisisters
I loved this book so much!! I had never heard of this book before it was picked for a book club and boy am I glad it was picked! About family, love, loss, change and acceptance! I didn‘t wanted to put it down and can‘t wait to discuss it at book club!
Charlie and Whisky are identical twins but, other than their physical appearance, are nothing alike and have spent years not speaking. But when Whisky is involved in a tragic accident that leaves him in a coma, Charlie finds himself reflecting on what has led them to be so distant. Although quite touching, it didn‘t hit the mark for me - there was something in the writing that left me a bit detached. Between a pick / so-so.
I love books about sibling relationships and Charlie and Whiskey have a complicated one. They are identical twins who haven‘t spoken in months when Whiskey is in a serious accident that leaves him in a coma. Charlie is left to review his life and examine the ways he may have contributed to the deterioration of their bond. The complexities of family and perception woven into this story made it a book I am using for #booked2020 #finishinaday.
⭐⭐⭐⭐
I really enjoyed this book. Lots of emotions throughout the story. Love, loss, jealousy, forgiveness. This book makes you hold on tight to hope even when despair is staring you in the face.
@TorieStorieS I cannot thank you enough for the incredible surprise package- a book I have been wanting to read for ages and a perfect summer read. I so appreciate your kindness (and great taste). #jb
Getting started a bit late today but here you go, the first #momreviews of the morning. This one seems to be popular here on Litsy too. @Momreviews
My #readersgonnaread selection has made it back to me!! I was so happy to read everyone‘s notes and I‘m so happy y‘all seemed to enjoy this one!! @Reviewsbylola , I know I‘m sooooo far behind but yours is headed to the post office today!!
#readersgonnaread books heading home to @erinreads and @morgan_krahn! This was a fun round robin book club. And tonight I'm going to read everybody's thought on my pick. I've been using that as a reward to get these two done. Thanks so much for hosting, Erin!
Excuse the mess on my office table...
I just finished @morgan_krahn's #readersgonnaread and really enjoyed it! Great story about family, siblings, jealousy, and redemption. And it will soon be heading back home!
And sorry for holding onto it for so long... I lost track of time.
Lazy Saturday with this #readersgonnaread. I'm awful and have two books now! Trying to get through them this weekend.
I went from wanting to bailing on this book to crying!!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 5 stars!!! This book has left me an emotional mess!

It‘s not the Scottish spelling, but this book was the first that came to mind for today‘s #whisky prompt. I read it a few months ago thanks to one of my wonderful postal book clubs, and I really liked it!
#OutlandishGiveaway
I enjoyed it but overall it was average. The characters were portrayed well. The writing seemed a tad shallow, passionless and amatuear. Something was just.... missing, it felt incomplete. Maybe I'm simply too picky.
2.5/5 stars

Sibling rivalry takes center stage in this touching story where definitions of family and familial relationships are explored. This author makes you love a character on one page but three pages later, you're ready to throttle him (or her). While I had a few quirky hang ups in some areas, overall it is an engaging, heartwarming read. Thanks for choosing this one @Mdargusch ! #LMPBC
Loved this one! I'm not ashamed to say I got a bit weepy at the end. Lovely story about twin brothers who go ages without speaking until something rips them apart briefly. A good family drama.
Oh my goodness. I started this book before work, read some more at lunch, and then read all evening to finish it. Very unputdownable, well-written, sweet story about twin brothers who are estranged as adults and the accident that brings them and their whole family back together. A brilliant cast of characters and a heartbreaking story that gave me all of the feels. ❤️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Received this today @ItsAngel ! I can't believe we are starting our third book for #LMPBC . Can't wait to dive in. I'm really enjoying this conception of a book club, @suvata . Thanks for organizing! #bookmailisthebestmail
I loved this one. From start to finish. Different from what I‘ve read lately but it was a perfect change of pace. Great pick @Mdargusch #LMPBC
I can‘t wait to get started on this one! #LMPBC
I will be getting mine mailed on Friday! 🤗
This was a good book to read for the #LMPBC swap since I️ had a love hate relationship with Whiskey and Charlie. I️ could take my feelings and express them in the margins! Twin brothers communicate through the alpha bravo charlie alphabet on their walkie talkies until sibling rivalry and dysfunction tear the two apart. After Whiskey ends up in a coma and the family deals with their history, the relationship comes full circle.
This a a story of family relations that cause resentment and regret between twin brothers. #family #noteworthynovember #lmpbc
I‘m so excited to get started on this book club! I‘m thinking of picking this book for round one. Thoughts @cathysaid @ItsAngel and @IheartYA ?
I was able to finish two books for #litsypartyofone, so I'm stoked. We also had a nice, relaxing holiday weekend at @Mdargusch 's lake house. 😎 This book surprised me, in a good way. I haven't seen it around and it's Litsy presence is non existent practically. However, it ended up being a total winner. The characters and their relationships were so genuine. I teared up countless times. Reminded me of Ed Tarkington's book a bit. 👍🏻👍🏻
Kicking off a morning of #litsypartyofone as a party of two. One kid is asleep (as are our husbands) and one kid is eating nachos and donuts, so we are taking some time to read on the porch. I just started my book and it's a great coming of age story about twin brothers, while @Meredith3 is reading The Heart's Invisible Furies. 💔❤️😭😂💔❤️😭😂
"A sharp, perceptive novel about family and forgiveness, Whiskey &a Charlie will stay with me for a very long time." --Christina Baker Kline. ••• I loved this story. A tale of jealously, hope, love, and forgiveness. I found myself emotionally invested in all of the characters in this beautiful story.
Good morning Littens! It's chilly here in Wisconsin today (56 degrees 😳) which is my favorite reading weather ☺️
Peaceful start to my Monday morning ☺️ some quiet reading at work before the bustle of the day! Happy Monday everyone!
Book and breakfast on a lazy Sunday ☺️
A good, happy-not-sappy ending. I always wonder what it's like to be a twin.
This is the third book I've recently read that contains this quote.
"...like meerkats emerging from their burrows." I don't know why that makes me laugh so much!
As much as I love my kindle, I also love a physical paper book! Whiskey & Charlie up now...
