A librarian's discovery of a mysterious book sparks the journey of a lifetime in the delightful new novel from the international bestselling author of The Curious Charms of Arthur PepperLibrarian Martha Storm has always found it easier to connect with books than people--though not for lack of trying. She keeps careful lists of how to help others in her superhero-themed notebook. And yet, sometimes it feels like she's invisible. All of that changes when a book of fairy tales arrives on her doorstep. Inside, Martha finds a dedication written to her by her best friend--her grandmother Zelda--who died under mysterious circumstances years earlier. When Martha discovers a clue within the book that her grandmother may still be alive, she becomes determined to discover the truth. As she delves deeper into Zelda's past, she unwittingly reveals a family secret that will change her life forever.Filled with Phaedra Patrick's signature charm and vivid characters, The Library of Lost and Found is a heartwarming and poignant tale of how one woman must take control of her destiny to write her own happy ending.

I found this #audiobook a bit too “on the nose” with its theme of a self-sacrificing woman learning to set boundaries and take care of her own needs. It includes themes of the power of stories and the importance of family and forgiveness. It was an okay listen while lazing about fighting off a seasonal bug.

I really enjoyed this book. It was not quite what I anticipated the story being, which was a nice surprise. The book is well written, full of heart and enjoyable characters. It is the perfect book to read on a lazy Sunday.

These two books I read this past year both featured a #ChippyTea in them, so being a fish-and-chip lover, I had to make it for my book tour review recipe pairing. One with caper mayo & the other with mushy peas. 😋🐟🍟🍽

Started reading The Library this morning and since I‘m at work for another 1 hour and 43 minutes -but who‘s counting - I might finish this tonight. A cozy mystery with a character who volunteers in a Library.

First, I apologize to all my lovely Litsy friends for being completely inactive here the last couple of months! Life‘s been crazy and I checked out from all social media for awhile. But, I‘ve been reading like crazy and have lots of reviews to post.

Finished this today for my real life book club. I loved Martha and I completely resonated with her journey to find herself when she discovers that her grandmother may still be alive. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Started off a bit slow but found its stride quickly. A sweet and heartwarming read. Martha found herself, her courage, imagination, and self-esteem again with the help of Suki, Sebastian, Lilian, Owen, Gina, Will, Rose, and of course Nana. A nice book to curl up with when you need a break. While it talked about serious issues the overall message was hope, making the most of today, saying no when you need to, and enjoying cake now and then.

I read this between July 11 & 13; and rated it 4 ⭐️. I quite enjoy Phaedra Patrick‘s characters. This book was sad, amusing & hopeful. The “fairy” tales included in the story make me want Patrick to actually write a collection of fairy tales.

It was a lazy 2 days for me as I geared up for #BFCr2. It‘s game day my Lovely Litten Friends, and my goals are set. It‘s pouring rain in my neck of the woods, but no rain delays are incorporated into my goals. Until the skies clear my bluetooth and I will dance like we mean it inside while I thank the stars above that no one is watching me! #BFCr2 . @wanderinglynn

marleed @wanderinglynn I almost didn‘t sign up knowing I‘d have company but realized being fully engaged in my rare family visits is actually part of this healthy challenge! 5mo
wanderinglynn Yes, that‘s a great way to look at it. Vacations, family events, weather, illness—both good and bad will always happen and interrupt our regular routines. The important focus of this challenge is not to quit. Allow yourself time for these events, and adapt as needed. And you‘ve embraced that excellently! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 5mo

I‘m not sure that the title actually fits this book. Martha started out as a weak character but I grew to like her. I‘m grateful it ended better than most of the book went. Not my favorite book. I give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️/5.

I have this guilt that if I don't like all books written about librarians or libraries I'll be shunned from my career with the written word. However, this book was simply just meh for me. I finished it but wasn't overly invested in the characters beyond loathing the father. Oh well, on to the next book.

Finished Audiobook #4 for #BookFitnessChallenge

This book was okay. I don‘t know why it has the title it does..

There is a lot going on in this book. Martha never says no to anyone and is a people pleaser. She receives a book written by her grandmother but it was published 3 years after she died. This brings Martha on a journey of discovery of herself, her family and her past sacrifices.

Clwojick Ugh. I hate being let down by books. I got this one on NetGalley, but I still haven‘t read it.🤫 6mo

Went for a quick run and quick walk this morning before it gets too hot and humid! It‘s supposed to be like 85°F today!

Need to start taking a day in between with running. When I ran on Friday, I was slower than usual because I was so tired.

And now I‘m dog sitting and don‘t plan to walk with 2 dogs on my road!

Hope everyone is having a great Sunday! ☀️

I know Martha cares for her parents until their death. The book tells me that much. But I'm not loving this book, the only reason I haven't bailed is because I've convinced myself she needs revenge for how awful her father was. Why she would feel the need to care for him instead of leaving him, is beyond me. I hope she does something soon before I give up on this book!

I should have been following Bailey's example and sleeping but I'm glad I finished this last night for two reasons. First, it ended well. Not just happily but strongly. And second, now I'm done with it! All of the characters really did frustrate me so I'm ready to move on.

I'm finding this hard going. The MC is finally growing on me but all of her family are immensely frustrating. Suki, Owen, and Harry are delightful but they are very minor characters. I'll keep slogging through but the secrets, mysteries, and half truths feel like they've been drawn out too far. I'm ready to have everything out in the open so Martha and I can both get on with our lives.

Feels like I pulled a muscle in my leg yesterday so I decided just to walk the dog and not run. I‘ve already run 2x this week!

This is at the start of my walk. I have to wear a safety vest and a bright orange hat, because people are not nice. And if I get hit by a car, it‘s definitely their fault because I‘m clearly visible! And I only feel comfortable walking/running between 11am and 1pm on my street.

The story of Martha Storm, the book that‘s left for her at the library where she works, her subsequent discovery of family secrets, and her journey of self-discovery is a decent but not amazing read. I hated some of the characters but enjoyed the end. Lovely day today so we went to the botanical gardens and the beach. #audiowalk

I love books about books & this one was an endearing & easy read. Martha is a isolated library volunteer & a people pleaser/doormat--always overdoing for others while life passes her by until a battered book of fairy tales has her seeking answers about her family & herself. Not perfect but I enjoyed Martha's growth & the fairy stories mixed in. Paired with fish & chips, mushy peas & dill mayo for my book tour review.
