First book by him I'm reading, not bad bad, but I knew it wouldn't be my cup of tea... Too Hallmark for me.
A friend lent me two books by him, said she loved them, so I finally decided to read one of them. I'll be returning both her books back as chick lit is really not my jam.
One thing that annoyed me when reading it: the high number of metaphors...
I knew going into this audiobook the story was going to be sad in the end, but I was not prepared to cry the way I did. Based off the beginning, I didn't think I would particularly care about the characters, but they grew on me, a lot of them changed in the story. While I was frustrated by how some people acted, I still loved the story.
Oh man. I did not actually think I would cry. One of Sparks‘ earlier books, and a bit heavy on the religious stuff for me, but I still liked it! I‘m going to read Message in a Bottle next.
Easy to read. I picked the book yesterday evening and it was just a smooth read, thought not a smooth ride. I have watched the movie before but nothing prepared me for the emotions I felt when I read the book. Was in my tbr list since I was a teenager, could finally read it at 23. And the feeling of the love they shared, Landon and Jamie is still fresh and beautiful. I am glad I finally picked this up.
This was a quick and enjoyable read. It is more of a simplified version of the movie and set in the 1950s. It didn‘t quite reach my expectations, but it was still a good read.
Its time has finally come!
I saw the movie many times... I prefer tge cinematic Landon since then 😂
The way Landon goes through the list of all the things Jamie wants to do before she dies just makes my heart melt ❤️

1. Daedalian Depths. I've slowly been working through the labyrinth and it's been fun.
2. I just sent my best friend Aristotle and Dante Dive into the Waters of the World.
3. Done. A Walk to Remember. My daughter asked me about this book recently and I told her she would both love and hate this book at the same time. Mr Sparks has a way of making us do that.

It doesn't matter how many times I read it In the past, this book will always make me cry. Such a beautiful story. ❤️
It also has a Christmas in it. 🎄
An impulse read. ❤️

3/3 These were new when I bought them many years ago. I think Exposure may be used because I had to read it for a class in grad school. BTW, Exposure is a difficult book & going down the Kathryn Harrison rabbit hole may freak you out (she had an incestuous relationship with her father as an adult & then wrote about it in another book. She hadn‘t known him until she was an adult. I was morbidly fascinated back then & read the book).
Okay honestly. The movie was better. Sorry I had to say it. We all know it‘s true. We just hate to admit that this happens sometimes. It‘s okay. I‘ll take one for the team on being the one to say it.
“My breathing suddenly went still. I looked at Jamie, then up to the ceiling and around the room, doing my best to keep my composure, then back to Jamie again. She smiled at me and I smiled at her and all I could do was wonder how I‘d ever fallen in love with a girl like Jamie Sullivan.”

This makes me think of Jamie Sullivan. With a heart full of faith, she takes on everyday with gratitude and love.

Yes I cried while reading A Walk To Remember just like i cry every time i watch the movie.
1. I don't actually think Halloween will be any different for us. We really don't do much.
2. I am grateful EVERY week for my friends on here and my husband & sons for keeping me somewhat sane (I gotta be real... I am nowhere near really sane! haha)

1. I usually work Halloween, so I'm not expecting any big difference, other than less customers than a usual Saturday.
2. I'm grateful I have PTO (paid time off) because I had a rough night and I'm not up to work today. I can stay home and rest, and it won't hurt my next paycheck.

I added this to my TBR after a recent bout of nostalgia. I‘ve never read a Nicholas Sparks book before but was deeply obsessed with this movie when it came out (I think I was 13?) I think this is more an issue of this not being for me versus being “so-so” overall. I‘m glad I got a Nicholas Sparks book off my to do list, but I still prefer the movie - something I never really say. Glad to check another one off my #bookspinbingo board!
This was my reading spot today. One of my favorite parks and old stomping grounds. I‘m jumping in to another of my #bookspin picks.
"It all comes down to who's by your side" - A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks. ❤
In love with this book
At first we were the only ones on the floor, everyone watching us as we glided around. I think they all knew how we were feeling about each other, and it reminded them of when they were young too. I could see them smiling wistfully at us. The lights were dim and the singer began a slow melody I held her close to me with my eyes closed wondering if anything in my life had ever been this perfect and knowing at the same time that it hadn't.
“You have to promise you won't fall in love with me.”
Gosh I read this sooo many years ago, but I remember this quote! ❤️

This book is told by 57 year old Landon Carter who tells the events from 40 years in the past. The story‘s starts to take place in 1958 and is both happy and sad. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys drama and romance novels. I really enjoyed this book and i‘m glad I had the chance to read it!
With all the closures and implementations in Orlando due to covid-19, this is my first book of social distancing.
This has been on my bookshelf forever... well maybe not quite forever, not even twenty years, which is when it was published, but a long, long time. While I can‘t read Nicolas Sparks books one after another, reading them spread out always turns out to be a beautiful experience. A Walk to Remember didn‘t disappoint. Truly a beautiful story about rare, pure, true love.
🎵🎶Love this song and movie! Mandy Moore did great singing it!🎶🎵
What I'm about to watch! This movie still gets to me!!😢😍💜🧡🧡💛💚💙❤💖
Mandy Moore and Shane West 2019 on Hollywood Walk Of Fame.💖💖💖💖💖
My heart! I just love them! I'm so gonna watch the movie tonight! It's one of my all time favorite books and movies!😍💜🧡💛💚💙❤📚😍
Will always be one of my favourite stories by this author. Although it‘s sad, I thought it was a very nice love story.

#QuotsyApr19 Day 28: Love always makes #perfect sense, indeed. I have not read any Nicholas Sparks novel, at all, in my lifetime. Am I missing out, Litsy folks?
Sometimes the movie is better than the book. Especially if the movie is one of your favorites. I am glad however that I read the inspiration for the movie.
"I can still remember everything from that day. I may be older and wiser, I may have lived another life since then, but I know that when my time eventually comes, the memories of that day will be the final images that float through my mind. I still love her, you see, and I‘ve never removed my ring. In all these years I‘ve never felt the desire to do so." - Landon Carter, A Walk To Remember.
This book makes me cry so much, and the movie even more.
