I don‘t remember what happened in July, but I only managed to read one book. It was a really great one though.

Greg Iles was recommended to me ages ago and I‘ve had this book in my shelf for years… finally got to in and I‘m a little disappointed I put it off for so long!
It‘s quite the #chunkster but I flew through it. A page-turner for sure. Looking forward to the next (and to go back to the prequel trilogy)
Fantastic. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Can‘t wait to dive into The Bone Tree, the next in the series
Dang! This is hard!
1) Penn Cage from the tagged series!
2) Cyril from The Heart‘s Invisible Furies
3) The Count from A Gentleman in Moscow

Very well written, but a little “triggering” for me after some recent events. The story is based upon murders happening during the civil rights movement. Lots of good & evil & grey areas.
The pages magically turn themselves as the reader is sucked into racial and political madness in Mississippi from 1964 to 2001. KKK murders and plots unfold as the FBI and local police department become involved when a couple of reporters and the mayor become heavily and personally involved in racial justice cases to obtain justice for blacks and two white females who were murdered decades ago. They literally have to dig up the past. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Today‘s Prompt: OVER 500 PAGES
I haven‘t read this biggie, but it is on my shelf.
This book has 788 pages.
Have YOU read it?
Stayed up way past my bed time to finish! Action packed thriller with a myriad of different threads and a heart pounding last 30 pages! Great read.
Nearly 500 pages read and just over half way - it‘s a great read👍🏻 out with friends tomorrow so probably won‘t finish until Tuesday now.
Next up! Have a busy day running round in the horrible weather so not expecting to get much reading done, but looking forward to this one 👍🏻
Finished this trilogy in 4 days. Wow!! Suspenseful till the end. I liked the characters, the going back in time to where it all begin, the mystery, the tension, the danger, I loved it all. Highly recommend.
Now I need to rest my eyes for a day or two. 👀 😂
Wow!! This book is so suspenseful. I don‘t know what took me so long to read it. I‘m hoping the other two from the trilogy are just as epic.
It‘s a definite ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Always wanted to read this series found this little gem for only 3 bucks at the dollar store
A lot of effort here that creates a compelling narrative about America‘s sad history. On to the second in the trilogy.
For you @kaye
He is awesome!!
Part historical crime novel, part family drama, this 800 page behemoth jumps between the 1960‘s and just after hurricane Katrina. I found it remarkably engaging if emotionally taxing. Sometimes the brutality is raw in its description. I‘d read some criticism that it was unnecessary, but I disagree - Looking away from it to protect our delicate sensibilities is what allowed it to go on so long. Don‘t finish without the next book ready to start.
Wow. Just wow. The sweet ladies who live down the way brought me this book and the two that follow it for me to read. I‘m a third of the way through this and I‘m wondering 1) how have I not heard of this author? 2) why is he not a household name? & 3) how has this book not been optioned by a premium cable network for a stand alone series? I agree with Stephen King‘s quote on the cover: “I defy you to start it and find a way to put it down.” 😳
I remembered to snap a picture before I wrapped this. My husband reads much more nonfiction than fiction. When this showed up in his letter to Santa-yes, we still write letters to Santa😄-I immediately grabbed it for him.
📚 Natchez Burning- Greg Iles and NOS4A2- Joe Hill. Couldn‘t choose just one!
👨🏽💻 Jo Nesbo
🎞 National Lampoon‘s Christmas Vacation

Today‘s Prompt: BIG BOOKS
Have you read this book or any book this long?
I have not read this book, but I did struggle through all of the 864 pages of ANNA KARENINA.
Love #thriller books. This is my most recent favourite thriller book, An Officer and a Spy, and the one I want to get to over the next month, Natchez Burning.
#Reading Resolutions
What is your favourite recent thriller?
Natchez has a lot of these historical markers. Down by the river they have one for Richard Wright, the author. Keeping with the Greg Isles theme. I chose to post this one because of Greg Isles‘ book. #LiteraryNatches #sad 😢
#automatic
I will always automatically buy Greg Iles!! 📚📚📚

✨I can't help myself. I truly can't. Spare change? Library's for sale racks. Do I have room for these books? Of course not. Do I actually need any of them? Not really. Do I already even have one of them? Yup. 3rd Degree. Does any of that matter? Absolutely not because I will still buy whatever book looks good, which is most. ??
✨Every time I leave the library someone either says "Little light reading?" or "You'll be busy for awhile."?
#readingresolutions #chunkster
An absolute must read!!!! As well as anything written by Greg Iles. 💜💜💜

TODAY‘S PROMPT: CHUNKSTER
Natchez Burning by Greg Iles has been staring at me for about three years.
It may still be a decoration on my shelves for a little longer. :)
Have you read it?
#itsashame I have a book buying problem and I need a new book buying ban. This is my 3day book haul 🙈. Also notice my coffee cup from @TK421 from our #ohiomeetup gift swap! Thanks @Chelleo ❤️ #aprella
This book is epic, and not just because it is 800 pages long. The story is engrossing to the end- I can‘t believe there are still two books left to read. I am officially hooked on this series- planning to dive right in to book two. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
A fantastic parcel just arrived from @ScorpioBookDreams the tagged book and the 2 Karin Slaughters are signed 😍 the box they are sitting on is packed with wrapped books and goodies for our Easter Swap. I‘m going to have to hide it! Thank you Rachael 😘😘
Next up. It‘s 800 pages so hoping to get this in before baby arrives and I can‘t focus anymore!
Secondhand buy arrived today. Looking forward to reading it.
“For once the stone hits the surface of the pond, the ripples never really stop. The waves diminish, and all seems to return to its previous state, but that‘s an illusion.”
Listened to the audio version of this book, it seemed to take forever but was pretty good.
