I consider this an intro into becoming a consumer of all things dark and spooky. I adored this series as a kid and the fandom lives on with my 2nd grader. #scarathlondailyprompts #missing #teamslaughter

Brief Summary: Miss Nelson‘s class is not behaving how they should. Miss Nelson was a sweet and caring teacher. The class never appreciated their teacher till their sub Mrs. Viola Swamp shows up and gets the class in line. The class never takes advantage of Miss Nelson again!
Who remember the kid‘s book, Miss Nelson Is Missing?
The Honors Drama class at Maya‘s school is performing the play this week. Tonight was opening night, and MJ was a rockstar in her role as Elvis!
It‘s been a looong 2 years since she was last on stage and for a while we thought this show would be cancelled as well. The smiles and pure joy on her face (under a mask) to be performing again made this mama‘s heart VERY happy.

A couple of favorite back to school picture book reads featuring teachers.
Who remembers Miss Nelson!? Decided to take a trip down memory lane with these classics this cold afternoon. Miss Nelson's class is out of control until the scary Miss Swamp steps in and takes over the class for a bit. Miss Nelson comes back to a much better behaved classroom! Such fun books!

Today for #20series20day we look at my #top20series pic the Miss Nelson Books, There are a total of 4 books, and i love them all. A staple or read over and over and over again from my childhood.
It feel like modern times forgets about these books but I'm bringing them back baby!
Book 4 looks like it was published later in life as a kindle only book.
My mom was a teacher and she always loved reading this book to her kids on the first day of class. It taught them respect for their teacher and was also a lighthearted story/joke. This book reminds me of many other classic stories as well. I think kids will be able to use text to world connections when they finish reading it.
This is one of my childhood favorite's. I enjoyed reading this book from beginning to end and thought I should share it with you. This sweet picture book should be included in every elementary classroom library for every boy and girl to read.
“Miss Nelson is Missing“ by James Marshall is a light-hearted and adorably written picture book full of cartoonish and hilariously colorful illustrations allowing the reader to become enthralled in the story
from spitballs to paper airplanes to general loudness classroom 207 is out of control. so easygoing teacher miss nelson decides to go undercover as strict substitute viola swamp and the results are funny.
My day 1 of#boardbookbonanza is a toughie! How do you pick just one!? I went with this one because the dynamic duo of Harry Allard and James Marshall made SO many of my childhood faves. I adored the Miss Nelson books, The Stupids books, and the George and Martha books! This is the only one of theirs I actually own. I really should correct that. I love reading this one to my kids. We never get sick of it!

#ABBAInAugust Day 2: When Miss Nelson was replaced by the terrible Miss Viola Swamp after the kids in Room 207 misbehaved yet again, the kids couldn‘t wait for Miss Nelson to return, so much so that it was almost like a #WhenIKissedTheTeacher moment when she finally came back. Miss Nelson is missing is a MF book by Harry Allard and James Marshall. I love this book and I read it to my nieces all the time! It is about a class who is getting into a lot of trouble. Miss Nelson decides to come to school the next day as Miss. Viola Swamp. The kids completely make a 360 change in their behavior and realize they took Miss.Nelson for granted. This is a great RA book or even a fun PR if they are able to read at this level.
1. Miss Viola Swamp
2. Great Expectations
3. Pride and Prejudice
4. Yes, I received a few gifts, from my students whose mom‘s are teachers.

This a comical fiction picture book that portrays how unruly students appreciate their teacher when a stern substitute arrives. It is a funny, cute, and surprising book to read to one‘s students. Perfect for RA, DR, RT in class. This link provides to an in class activity to do with the class: http://www.busyteacherscafe.com/literature_guides/missnelsonmissing.html

Had a very fun night with the kiddos watching our local community theater's production of Miss Nelson is Missing. I loved talking to the kids afterward about the differences between the book & the play. We love the theater!
My choice for today's #MonsterMadness2017 is a favourite from my childhood. Someone who puts on a creepy disguise to terrorize children? It's Miss Viola Swamp! #KillerKlown
@LibrarianRyan
Who else remembers this book? My teachers liked to have us watch the cartoon too. Every year, lol. And for some reason, my best friend has no memory of it. #publishedinthe1970s #jubilantjuly
This came in the mail today. My copy was falling apart. Had to have a new copy. When I was teaching I loved reading this to the kids. We had so much fun with it. I've given away a lot of my books but can't part with this. It will be on my shelf forever.

A few months ago, @Readaholics posted about Miss Nelson Is Missing, and I started thinking about all the books I read and loved when I was young. So today, I'm kicking off #NostalgicNovember, a challenge I've set myself to add at least one post every day this month about the books I remember from the first ten years of my reading life. 📖❤️👧🏻
I LOVED this book when I was a kid. It scared the crap outta me. THEY HAD A WITCH FOR A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER AND THEY COULDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!! AND WHAT HAPPENED TO THEIR REGULAR TEACHER??!! ACK!! @LibrarianRyan #octbookchallenge #Day14 #BooksSetInASchool
Day 11 #octphotochallenge Maybe not the most #disastrouskids but I immediately thought of sweet Miss Nelson's rowdy class. Then I thought about how much I loved Reading Rainbow, where I first heard about this book. "But you don't have to take my word for it."
Well, they've officially turned the heat on in my building which means Book Character Day is coming!! Who should I be this year?? #tbt to when I was Miss Viola Swamp from Miss Nelson is Missing!!
Who didn't love this book growing up? Beautiful sweet Miss Nelson is sick and mean cranky Viola Swamp is the class substitute. Will they survive? The horror!!!
