This book had me laughing the whole way through. It was literally just a comedian‘s comments on food, restaurants, and his experiences in said restaurants. “My body is a temple. A temple of doom, but a temple all the same.” 5⭐️

Sometimes I just like to read a very silly book that makes me giggle and sometimes literally LOL. This book is funny and made me want to go to New York City for a bagel.
I mean...I love food. And Gaffigan has some funny stuff to say about it. I made it half way through...but like a really large meal, it was just too much food.
🎧 If you like Jim Gaffigan you will recognize a bunch of this book from his stand up.
He narrates.
I can rewatch his stand up & laugh over & over.
I like that the chapters in the audiobook are labeled the food he‘s going to talk about. Now I really want this audiobook because I know I‘d listen again.
If you like his food humor then you‘ll love this book as he collects all of his food humor right here in one hilarious place.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
This was kind of disappointing actually. There were some food groups that he spent way too much time on. He also listed specific restaurants that he liked that I didn‘t find necessary. I get that he‘s a comedian, so he‘s very sarcastic throughout, but it wasn‘t always that funny consistently. I did enjoy his explanation on how he sees the USA in regions of food and about fish. I feel bad for his wife after listening to this book...
I happened upon a sale yesterday at a used bookstore. Each of these was only $1.oo 😍😍😍
Food. A Love Story was a much needed audio to listen to ❤️ Jim Gaffigan is well known for his Hot Pockets routine and he made me laugh a lot talking about his eating habits, his wife‘s dismay at said habits and his disregard for everyone who doesn‘t look like they enjoy food as much as he does. I am not impressed with his low opinion of CheezIts. They are the BEST cracker 🤣
Note to self: don‘t listen to this audio book while you are driving around doing errands because by the time you get to the grocery store you will be very hungry and buy all the junk food you shouldn‘t. You won‘t feel bad either because Jim doesn‘t, he says you should embrace it!
#senseofhumor #septembersenses Love Gaffigan‘s humour ❣️
We have another #bookspinbingo here. I‘ve hit four corners. Still working on a bingo. I like Gaffigan and there are some funny parts though I liked his other books more. He is from Indiana and talks about a burger place I‘ve been which is fun. Worst part is about Subway and he talks about Jared the previous spokesman who we now know is not a good guy.
Listened to the audiobook and it was great! Gaffigan's standup is not always a favorite for me; his constant use of silly voices grates my nerves after a while. The audiobook was, thankfully, low on obnoxious voices and high on funny and absurd food musings.
Looking forward to a game of hot pocket roulette in the near future.
I'm convinced that anyone who doesn't like Mexican food is a psychopath. Mexican food is so good, you'd think the real immigration problem would be fat guys like me sneaking across the border into Mexico.
Mexican food I grew up with consisted of the same four ingredients...tortilla with cheese meat and vegetables...It's all the same stuff in different shapes.
📖 Food: A Love Story by Jim Gaffigan. It's one of the funniest books I've ever read. 🤣🤣🤣

“I like my coffee strong, black, and frequent.” Was my favourite bit from this book which I couldn‘t finish because I just don‘t think that kale being gross and steak being “manly” is all that funny. I‘m looking for some lighter reads these days but this just is not for me.
1. Jim Gaffigan is amazing.
2. I was born in this world and now I‘m not just a person. Love!!!
3. Summer sports (except figure skating!)
4. I would give a compliment to every kitten for reading instead of watching tv all the time!

Think about a 13 year old writing about all the hot guys at middle school in her journal and then make it a 40 year old man talking about food instead.
I finished this yesterday. I enjoyed this book & may blame it for a few of my poor food choices this week. 😂 I did get less interested in the last couple of hours (I was wondering how there were still more food types to talk about), so I had a hard time rating it on GR. Definitely some lol moments.
#SelfImprovementSept This book made me #Laugh so much, especially because I was listening to the audiobook read by Jim Gaffigan!
@Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @OriginalCyn620
This was a funny one!
Highly recommend the audio because Jim Gaffigan delivers his lines perfectly. I found myself laughing out loud... Dad Is Fat was a bit funnier, but this one is well worth a listen!
Gaffigan shares his love for food and tackles lots of popular fast food places and restaurants with his jokes. Full of great one liners!
So funny! Just make sure you read it on a full stomach or you‘ll eat your weight in Subway like I did.
I‘d say more, but the title says it all. #litsytbrlist
#30JuneBooks #Laughter I think Jim Gaffigan's books are hilarious, especially when he reads them.
@howjessreads
#JazzyJune #LaughterIsTheBestMedicine I listened to the audiobook of this and laughed almost the entire time I was listening!

1. Jim Gaffigan cracks me up!
2. Bought my kids a Nugget and they love it. (See NuggetComfort on IG. Yes I really paid $229, but totally worth it!)
3. Mexican! Mmmm.
4. Yes. 17-20. It‘s complicated bc my aunt counts some of her stepkids as “her kids” now, but she hasn‘t been married that long and I‘ve never met them, and don‘t think of them as cousins.

I really enjoyed listening to this audiobook! I think Jim Gaffigan is hilarious, and listening to him narrate this makes it even funnier. 😂
It's been several years since I did any cross-stitch, so I'm really excited to start this one while listening to this hilarious book! #audiostitching #stitchersoflitsy
started this today & this book has already made me laugh out loud literally #audiophile #readinglife #readinggoal
A fun and fluffy read. I found myself laughing out loud many times.
Something about pi(e). He mentions pie. A lot.
#bookishbingo
My current audiobook. I do like this comedian and he reads it. He says what we all are thinking about food. 😂 #booked2019 #spring
On a plane (again) with my new cordless headphones listening to the tagged. It‘s not as funny as I expected. A few chuckles, but really, it‘s a book of essays about various foods. As he says he‘s an “eatie” not a foodie. And that about sums up the book.
“Cake is way more important than pie.” (It‘s true!)
I enjoyed Jim Gaffigan‘s very comprehensive and humorous look at food in America. I especially liked the chapter on southern food. #LitsyAtoZ (4/26)

Day 4: I was only out for a bit. The trail was a little too icy for me. I‘m still enjoying my after work walk to unwind. The pinned book is somewhat entertaining. I hope to finish it later on the treadmill. #LitsyWalkers @kaye
Day 1: I was able to get 15 or so minutes of neighborhood walking in before heading in to the warm house and a cup of hot tea. A longer walk to follow (on treadmill) after I finish work reports that are due tomorrow. I prefer listening to nonfiction when walking and look forward to future walks and new audiobooks. #LitsyWalkers
Almost a pick but just shy. There were some humorous parts and then some misses. I applaud Gaffigan for writing a whole book (340 pages!) on food. I shared many parts with my husband, as we're both fans of his stand-up. A little rambly and I was ready for it to be done about 100 pages before it was though.
I love Jim Gaffigan and while I'm enjoying this whole book dedicated to food (his outlook on seafood needing to be renamed seabugs is hilarious) a lot of his stand-up bits are in this book which makes it less enjoyable for some reason unfortunately, since I've already heard them multiple times 😬😥
This book is cute. Not great, but it is cute. Nice and fluffy.
I laughed out loud the whole way through this. It was a delight!
I like Jim Gaffigan.
It turns out listening to Jim Gaffigan read his audio book is a lot of Jim Gaffigan.
Thank you so much @Pamwurtzler !! @Pamwurtzler can‘t wait to test out the recipes you sent and some of the ones from the cookbooks! I ♥️ Penzeys so this will be quickly used!
