I was not expecting that! Definitely not what I thought going into it. Julie disappeared 2 years ago, and when she comes back, she doesn‘t seem like herself. I liked the book, it just took quite a turn.
I love this cover. The pink is gorgeous, but it's also creepy. This was a good read, a thriller/mystery horror. Four friends reconnection on a girls weekend after one of them goes missing for two years, only to suddenly reappear. But what has returned may not be their best friend after all.
This started out a little slow, but it was worth sticking it out. Julie, Elise, Molly and Mae are four best friends from college. Julie disappears. Elise believes she is alive. They have a funeral. Elise believes Julie is alive. After two years, Julie shows back up on her front porch. All 4 get together for a weekend getaway to celebrate and reconnect, but Julie is not the same.
This didn‘t go exactly as I thought, but I enjoyed it. I had ⬇️

I made my drink too strong so I have a second juice only to dump it into so it‘s palatable 😆
Also: everyone told us it rains a lot in OR and it‘s been sunny every day, so I‘m just waiting until cozy indoor sweater weather and hoping they weren‘t lying….
Book 97📚 4⭐️
I love a good disappear and return story! So much mystery.
Some unexpected synchronicity between my last read and this one. I love when that happens, makes me feel like I picked the right “next book”😂
It‘s been two years since Jules when missing. They‘ve held her funeral. But one day she‘s reappears on her porch swing with no memory of what happened those last two years. Or so “she” says…😬
Does anyone else get super excited to “merchandise” a new bookshelf?😂

Some of my favourite things are on here🖤🤍
A really fun balance of psychological suspense and straight horror (especially the third act, which turns macabre). Was really surprised by this debut.
Three stars for me. I finished the book and I understood the desperate need to remove loneliness and the changing friendships we have with those we have known longest, felt closest to. The horror wasn‘t scary which is what you want in a horror novel. This was more about the horror of friendship. I wouldn‘t recommend it but I did feel it resonate with my own feelings about friendship, isolation and desperation.
When her best friend from college, Julie, disappears without a trace and then reappears two years later, Elise knows something isn‘t right. A girls‘ getaway with their two other besties goes nightmarishly bad. Although it doesn‘t completely hang together, this was a page-turner.
1. Tagged book. It really is more of a Halloween type book
2. It‘s in the 60s now but supposed to rain tomorrow (I live near St Pete, FL)
3. Not many cold days here but I like to turn the air down low and curl up under a blanket 😂
Started this one today. Looking forward to a rainy day here tomorrow in FL so I can be lazy and read 😁
First #bookhaul of 2022. #sorrynotsorry. 15 of them are for my classroom.
Normally I find books have a slow middle or pacing issues. For this book, ironically, I found the beginning was the weakest part. It didn‘t catch me right away, but I‘m glad I persevered because it was an awesome read.
This was like a delightfully quirky horror movie. The setting was so fun and I could really visualize everything that was going on. Honestly this would make an awesome movie.

THIS BOOK!! I didn't understand what this book was about when I started. I thought it was a mystery thriller. Nooope! SCARY!
I know this one doesn't have great reviews. But I didn't really mind it. Also I thought it was SUPER creepy. It gave me chills up my back a few times. 4/5 stars.
I liked the story, but the audiobook narrator had some extremely annoying voices, and all the calling of each other‘s names and “come ooon”s at the end really got on my nerves. This one is probably better read than listened to.
Actually enjoying this audio book pretty much so far!

Missed yesterday. This week has been a bit hectic.
But this book was as shocking as it's cover! I thought this was a mystery/thriller, its more horror.😳😳😳
This one wasn't what I thought it was going to be... All in all, it was OK, a decent read. I thought at times there was a bit too much description but I really liked the characters and the suspense.
My newest read 📖🤓 starting off nice and creepy 🤪😱
Eh. Not bad but not great. The characters were completely unrelatable and annoying. I was hoping the monster would eat them all 😂
