This was my #FoodAndLit pick for #Haiti

While I enjoyed it, there was less about Haitian zombies than I expected from this book. About a third through, Hadriana was still alive and it was mostly superstition about a horny butterfly deflowering all the girls! But it was still an interesting if odd read.

Side note: there‘s lots of references to sex with many names for genitals. My favourite (female) was ripe almond 😂

Ghost eaters is a book I won‘t soon forget. This book delves into the cycle of addiction, and the grief and trauma that brings you there. This unreliable narrator portrays the addiction of both love, abuse, and drugs that make you “see ghosts”. This drug‘s prominence and the narrator‘s fall from a life just beginning begs to question whether it‘s hallucinations, traumatic past, or true ghosts that haunt us all.

This book 💯 lived up to expectations. L&L is a cozy high fantasy/sapphic love story that follows an Orc named Viv. She decides to retire from her adventuring days to open a coffee shop in a town that has never heard of coffee. It has a GIANT cat named Amity, cinnamon rolls described in utmost detail, “bean water” (aka coffee 😂) and the lowest stakes imaginable. Fantastic writing, 5 ⭐️ & feels like a warm hug.

Bk20 of #LittensDressedInBlood & Bk1 of October is finally done! I‘m sorry I‘ve been MIA but my baby girl was struggling a bit so I‘ve been staying with her longer than expected. I did manage to get in some spooky TV which will be in other post.This book I finished mostly by audio as it was easier.
