Now the fragile seers are in greater danger than ever beforeboth from their own weaknesses and from those who seek to control their divinations for wicked purposes. In desperate need of answers, Simon Wolfgard, a shape-shifter leader among the Others, has no choice but to enlist blood prophet Meg Corbyns help, regardless of the risks she faces by aiding him.Meg is still deep in the throes of her addiction to the euphoria she feels when she cuts and speaks prophecy. She knows each slice of her blade tempts death. But Others and humans alike need answers, and her visions may be Simons only hope of ending the conflict. For the shadows of war are deepening across the Atlantik, and the prejudice of a fanatic faction is threatening to bring the battle right to Meg and Simons doorstep

The third book in the series is just as good as its predecessors! There is rising tension between the Others and the humans as Meg, Simon and their friends struggle to keep the peace. I am totally hooked now, but I wasn‘t crazy about the narration so I think I will go to print for the next installment.

Book 3 in The Others series. Wow, this one was so good. In this book, the coexistence between the Others and humans are in danger due to HFL movement (you need to read it-no spoilers). I liked the vampires interaction, specially Stavros. I really enjoyed chapter 39. However, I found unrealistic the way the process of grief experienced by a child was described. Funny scenes how the wolves and vampires interprets human‘s actions. 3.8⭐️

Another great installment of this series. The Blood Prophets have been freed and Meg, Simon and the rest of the Others must deal with the fallout and the increased hostility from the Human‘s First League.

I‘ve been rundown physically and emotionally, so I‘ve crawled into my favorite series for a comfort #reread. Even though I have SEVENTEEN books out from the library (so much anxiety, yet another reason I need some comfort. It‘s a self-perpetuating cycle.). I really love the world of The Others (obvious statement is obvious), this is my third reread this year alone! 😳

3⭐
I love this series enough to feel a sense of "coming home" when I visit this world. This one was a bit slower passed with less action than the other 2. There was action, just not as much. I think my favorite part was the introduction of a new "sweet blood" and her rediscovering her love of drawing.

hermyknee There was a really funny review of the first book on Goodreads (I‘ve only read the first one!) and she said, 3/4s of the book is delivering mail, 1/4 is action. And it made me laugh because it‘s so true, but I think that the sort of “slice of life” nature of the books is what we find so comforting about them. What do you think? 5y
QueenJen @hermyknee I think you may be on to something....😂😂😂 That's exactly how all the world building takes place in the first one. The courtyard takes shape in mail delivery, but there's action there too. I think you're on to something, as this is where the safety of a family also take place. 🥂 5y

Finally finished this third book in The Others series. I am really enjoying this series but have been having a hard time concentrating on reading when I'm home. My mind won't shut down and let me relax. So it took a bit to get through this one. But this UF series is a fun read and am looking forward to book 4.

Just got gome from work. Bad day (not even work related!) Shutting myself in my bedroom with a book. About halfway through this one.

tonyahoswalt I'm sorry you had a bad day. I hope things turn around soon. (I'm also sorry I'm a bad penpal 😣) 6y

This as a bit different in overall format and flow from the previous two, but it still maintains the terrific elements we‘ve come to expect. I‘m continually impressed with Bishop‘s storytelling. The world and character development has a beautiful subtlety in a story that is actively reshaping the world she has established. I‘m so glad I get to read such well crafted books! I want the rest of this series in hardcover, but for now, I have ebooks!

wanderinglynn Love this series! I completely agree with your assessment - Anne Bishop is a master storyteller. 7y
iread2much I agree! She‘s amazing! And I thought I would be sad since the next book set in this world had completely new characters, but it was actually a very nice read 7y

Do you guys make monthly #TBRs? I usually do but rarely fully stick to them. Of course I'm hoping this month will be different and I'll be able to read all of these plus the two reviews books on my Kindle. If I do, I'll be very excited. I only reqd 4 books last month so I really need to pick it up again if I'm going to complete my Goodreada goal! I've already started Vision in Silver and am really surprised by how much I'm loving the series!!!

It's been a while since I've read this one, so I had forgotten quite a bit of what happens. I actually also read this one in translation, in Dutch. It's the first time I've read any of them in Dutch and it was definitely an adjustment at first. But it was still an amazing read ❤️

Meg is stronger than she looks and is determined to use her unique gifts to help her friends, despite the great cost to her well-being. That takes courage and fearlessness.

This story is dynamic, immersive. It feels so very real, in its most tender moments, and its grittiest. I feel for these people. They have become a book family for me, and I care about what happens to them.

🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻 Highly recommended

Finished this last night (not as good as book one, better than book two!), and spent about 6 hours reading yesterday for #24in48. Due to the huge to-do list, a friend visiting today, and this being the weekend between jobs I doubt I'll make anything close to 24 hours but will be doing what I can!

I love this whole series! This one was a little light on action compared to the last two but it's clearly setting up something crazy-pants to come. Also SO MUCH Simon/Meg development! Which means HANDHOLDING because they are precious cinnamon rolls.
