Why do I feel like the thing with Dante is going to be like a Tamlin Situation in FINALE 🫠 we love him now but will despise him next
Or I‘m completely wrong on this one
Anyway, have no idea what waits for me in the sequel

#ReadAway2024 #SeriesLove2024 Donatella and Scarlet discover Legend‘s true identity. What will they do with this knowledge? I look forward to the third and final book in this series to find out how things all fit together. Recommended.
Donatella returns to Caraval as a player. She bargains w/ a criminal 4 information on her mom, & as payment they request Legend‘s real name. Dante offers to help her, but their feelings begin to get in the way. Will Tella win? What will she win? Who‘s really Legend?
This 1 was better than the 1st. There was more romance & mystery. It also had a great transition from the 1st. I‘m still not a big fan of the characters, but Tella‘s a little better.
Just finished legendary. It was incredible I‘ve read ouabh already and I have to say I love jacks even more after reading this book can‘t wait to start finale 🎉
I don‘t know what they put in this book, but I‘m addicted to it. This book is told from Donatella‘s perspective (which was far more interesting than Scarlet‘s) and it made me not feel so bad for loving Dante form the beginning of this series. I hated how good this book, I wanted to dislike it so badly so I wouldn‘t have to finish the series, but I just couldn‘t.
I'm half way through book 2 of Caraval and is it weird that I think I like the broken hearts series more? I read that one first and it's not over but so far I kind of like that Evangeline's story goes deeper rather than caraval that has changed perspective. Anyone have non spoiler thoughts?

Onward to book 2 in the Trilogy. SG is doing such a great job with the mind games and creativity!
August recap in book reviews:
This is the second book in the caraval series and focuses on the pov of Donatella. It was refreshing to read a new perspective but Scarlett‘s pretty much in the background for this one and I did miss her.

Finished.I enjoyed this sequel. In this one, we follow Tella instead of Scarlett. I wonder who we follow in the final book ? Both or just one?
“Every good story needs a villain. But the best villains are the ones you secretly like.” …and boy do me likey! 😉
IS IT A GAME? OR IS IT REAL? I read the book and I still don‘t know! Aghhh, that TWIST though!!! Once again, Ms. Garber has left us with more questions than answers..
As always, thanks to @KateReadsYA for buddy-reading this fantastic, magical, and mysterious series with me!! It‘s been a wild ride, I‘m sad it‘s ending. 🥲

This book was seriously mind bending! I never knew what was gonna happen next and there was so much excitement! I really really like this Trilogy and can't wait to finish up with Finale next! My favorite character is Tella because I feel like I can relate to her so much! Her decisions are never a disappointment because I would make the same ones!
🔹Book #2 of the Caraval series!
🔹Physical book
🔹5 stars!! I love it! Magical, adventurous, mysterious- right up my alley 😉
🔹I only write in books I know I‘ll never get rid of, my all time favorites and ones I reread often. Not a fan of highlighting because it bleeds and sticky notes are annoying to me. 🥲
I tag you, reading this post! ☺️

Tagged Book!
I only read physical books 🤩
I'd rate my current read 5 stars because I just know this book is gonna be amazing!!!!
I do all 3- I am building a personal library! So any books I love I definitely annotate. Most of my books has a character list I make at the back and highlight things that have made me feel good vibes or even negative ones 🥰🙂🤗

Starting Book 2 tonight! I'm so excited to continue this series and that we picked such a good one for our monthly #buddyread @BooksNBowls ♠️🌹🖤
I know I just posted about this but I wish I‘d waited for this one. It looks way nicer
Finished this last night. I cannot wait to read the final book in the trilogy! Lots of magic but not necessarily witches so maybe it doesn‘t count for our theme? #teamhendrix #scarathlon2021 @Clwojick @StayCurious
I liked this even better than the first one. I completely flew through it in one day.
I may have liked this one even better than the 1st. This time Scarlet‘s sister plays the game as she tries to track down her mother who left years ago. Who is Legend and why does one of the Fates want to know. Full of action & magic.
In the beginning Donatella aggravated me to no end. She reminded me of those girls in horror movies that run down to the basement instead of out the front door. Even with all that each dark corner revealed a little more about Caraval than we knew before.

The Caraval sequel did not disappoint. It is a little bit slow moving at first, but by page 150 or so it grabs ahold of you and doesn‘t let go! Yet again the characters were so well developed, the world building was immaculate, and the journey was all together unpredictable. My only complaint was that it was a little too long. Some parts, especially in the beginning, dragged.

I‘ve fallen in love with this trilogy, each chapter seduces you into reading just one more. I‘m so glad I bought the second and final book in one go because the desire to know how it all ends feels like the moment while holding your breath when your lungs might just betray you. The characters are a joy to read and the plot is as thick as a good milkshake.
Finished this audiobook last Saturday. This is the second book in the Caraval trilogy. I enjoyed it but not quite as much as the first. Can't quite put my finger on why. Maybe because I wasn't as into Tella as I was Scarlett. But I did feel for her towards the end. And there was a huge reveal in the end. But I am enjoying this series.
"The air tasted like wonder. Like candied butterfly wings caught in sugared spiderwebs, and drunken peaches coated in luck."
"He leaned one jacketed elbow against a tarnished silver door, the color of disillusioned dreams and bad decisions."
"He tasted like exquisite nightmares and stolen dreams, like the wings of fallen angels and bottles of fresh moonlight."
❓Does Tella walk around licking everything in the Trisda Candle Shop?
Meh. In this sequel, we follow Tella who should be more interesting (based on Caraval) but here her story is a bit flat. Her mother left them about 7 years ago & Tella wants to find her. There's still the business of not believing everything you see, which makes it hard for me to like anyone. I'm busy thinking up 20 different possibilities & the least exciting one wins out. There were essentially two love interests but not much actual romance.⬇️
Yay! A #bookmap to start my weekend reading!
I must admit I was surprised how much I was suck into the Caraval world. It's definitely not my favourite book by far but it reads really quicky and has it's charm. I liked the continuation of the series more than the first book, liked Tella more than Scarlett. The whole story felt more digestible and I actually understood what was going on! It felt more thought through and in general deeper than Caraval.
I thought the first one had a bit more whimsy and charm to it, but this was still a great sequel. The expansion of the world and its mythos was awesome. I‘m curious to know more as things wrap up in the final book. The settings were gorgeous and I loved the ambience.
Reading break time. I read the first book in this series back in spring 2017, so I‘m hoping I remember enough to enjoy the second one.
I liked Tella better than Scarlett as a narrator In some ways- she‘s less timid- though you miss the character growth you had with Scarlett. I also did not like the story taken out of the unknowable Caraval, but the story was still entertaining and romantic.
I enjoyed this but I didn't think that it was as entertaining as Caraval. ⭐⭐⭐
My hold came in on this like 3 hours before I spotted Chain of Gold in the newly added Audiobook section. Got to get this one finished now so I can move onto Chain of Gold.
I hate reading hard covers without a book hugger because I get them filthy just from holding them or laying them down at work.
I only have one not currently in use, so it went on Legendary. If you want a #BookHugger, or want to get one for a special Valentine, check out my shop. I ship the next business day (sometimes faster). (I even have this print in stock).

My #weeklyforecast is to start my #bookspin title which is tagged and get some galleys read in am behind. Way behind. But I‘m STILL reading Letters about Lit and Grants so we shall see what I can accomplish.
The Genie has spoken and drew #12. Which means this month I have to read the tagged book.
My #bookspin list is all sequels, so this round I get to go back to the world of Carval. A world where you play a deadly game. I didn‘t love book one but I did like it. So hopefully I like this one.
I‘ll start this as soon as I finish Caped.
I actually enjoyed this more than the first book. I thought a repeat of the game would get boring, but there were enough new elements to the story to keep me intrigued. This world still feels a little flat compared to some of my favorite fantasy series, but I‘m still looking forward to starting the last book in the trilogy.
I really wished I liked this more than I did. IThe flow of it was very different from the first book. I also thought it would answer a few questions I had from the first book. TBH some of the book made the first book not make sense or made me question things. Since it‘s a trilogy and I already ordered the third book I‘m going to continue but we‘ll see how it goes.
