Well, I can now say for myself that I do not think Fredia McFadden is worth the hype...
Mid-week library trip! I don't remember who recommended the top one to me. I had to see what the Freida McFadden hype was about, and Orbital is the first book is Stephen Colbert's book club. I'm still so upset about his show being canceled.
After hearing about this book so many times and having it sitting on my TBR but never quite reaching for it out of fear that it wouldn't live up to my expectations. An addictive read, the kind where you just want to read one more chapter and then one more.I found myself reading it any chance I got, for me it was genuine page-turner.I loved all the little twists.Just when I thought I had it all it figured out,I realised I was not even close.⭐⭐⭐⭐
I approached this with a bit of a jaundiced eye since I know my opinion of many other TikTok famous books. It didn‘t blow my socks off, but I did end up enjoying it. I would read McFadden again.
Devoured this book . Couldn‘t put it down. Easy read, great story and very entertaining. If you enjoyed, “Gone Girl” this is right up your alley. My husband also read it in a day and has now ordered all the other books in the series! Reading is a privilege.
⭐️⭐️/5
Read this one as part of a Goodreads challenge
✅ couldn't put it down
✅ didn't see the twist coming at the very end
❌ struggled loads with the writing style
❌ somewhat annoying narrator
Still trying to decide whether I'll read the next one on the series

Wow, I read this in one night. I'm too tired to rate it now but it must have been good. Glad I have no plans today.

Quick easy read but this was a carbon copy of The Next Mrs Parrish, I knew how the book would end on the very first page.
OMG, this was so freaking good! I can‘t even!

Listen, part 1 had me ready to give this a 3.5-4 star read at max, but that MASSIVE plot twist had me on the edge of my seat until the very end. The remainder of the book had me absolutely shook and the end came together neatly in a very satisfying way.
4⭐
This was my first finished e-book of the year. Since the hold for the Audio was so freaking long, I decided to read this on KU.
This is one of the better Freida books I‘ve finished. Maybe reading them is the way to go since I don‘t usually like her choice of narrators. It surprised me and kept me engaged, and I loved the easy-to-read writing style. I will be continuing the series…, but whether it will be on audio or Kindle remains to be seen.
This book was craaaazy with the plot twists. Some holes in the plot but it's fine. It was still a good read and I enjoyed it.
Wow. I was expecting a twist, because that‘s FM‘s style but I‘m almost speechless. What a fantastic ending! I devoured it in just over a day. 5 stars, and hell yeah for vigilante justice. Book #27 in 2025
I bought this book last week and I just started reading it.
Though the plot is predictable, I've enjoyed the story, the overall premise! I sure hope book 2 would be better! My rating is 4/5. If you like Gillian Flynn and Sandra Brown, you can give this novel a try before the movie is out. Yes, it has been adapted to the big screen 🙂
It's a page turner - fast paced and easy to read but it's messy, crazy, unrealistic and rather unoriginal. Unlikable characters but quite interesting story.
Always stay hydrated 😂
Jumped on this band wagon this week and I‘m glad I did. Definitely finishing the series and i‘m@looking forward to the show
Dive headfirst into the deliciously dark world of Freida McFadden's"Housemaid" series! ?? These books are pure thriller gold , brimming with suspense and unexpected twists that will leave you breathless ?. Millie, the enigmatic housemaid, is a character you'll be obsessed with is she a victim? A mastermind? ? You'll be guessing until the very last page! ? And if you love a touch of vigilante, justice served ice cold ,then it's a must read.
A mystery. Generally not my genre. Read it for a book club. It was adequate but not a read that moves a reader or changes their perspective or heart. Hard to believe it is a NY Times bestseller.
Read because I keep seeing this book everywhere. Devoured because it was delightfully ridiculously twisty and I had no idea where we were going to end up.
This is my first read of 2025 and I really enjoyed it! It‘s not my first Freida McFadden and definitely won‘t be my last either📚I get why this series has so much hype! I actually finished it yesterday and hopped into the second one right away 🤣 forgot to review haha
Quick and fast paced, I was hooked from the beginning. Really enjoyed this book, especially the twist and turns in the second half. Will definitely be reading book 2 and 3!
3/5 ⭐️
A fast-paced read with some unhinged characters! This book gave me “Verity” vibes.
Not in the database. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Did we need this short story? Not really. But did I read it, and enjoy it, super quickly? Sure did. If you‘ve read the rest of the series, you‘ll want to pick up this little piece of filler.
8/10
I read both this and the 2nd, and was equally as intrigued. It was easy to read and enagaging throughout with twists at every page turn. I thought the main character was strong willed and intelligent, something I particularly appreciate in a realistic female lead. Overall, I liked both books enough o recommend to anyone looking to get out of a reading slump!
A nice, quick page turner with an unreliable narrator. A woman is hired as a housekeeper for a wealthy family as things go off rails as secrets and lies are exposed on this psychological thriller.
I am addicted to Freida McFadden‘s amazing psychological thrillers. A former coworker/friend and I have been discussing our love for her books for the past few months. My friend is always raving about the Housemaid series, along with the rest of the reading world, so I finally made it a priority to start reading The Housemaid. It‘s so creepy and diabolical! I loved it!!

I LOVED this book. I kind of guessed a single aspect of the ending but honestly I was still very surprised. I think I finished the book in about 3 days, which is very fast for me especially since I‘m in college. Overall I highly recommend this book if you want something that will keep you hooked and is an easy read
The Housemaid by Freida McFadden. Reread. 9,2/10 rating
This was an exciting read. Full of twists.

This book was so hard to stomach, but the story was so addicting. For anyone who has suffered from spousal abuse or abuse in general, I would not recommend reading this book.
I didn't understand why this was so hard to find out in the wild. There were no digital copies. My bestie needed it for her book club. Somehow I ended up with 2 of them. So I guess I lost this round of chicken and actually read it. I approve. Read it. If you can find a copy.

🎧📖 At first I found this book to be a bit boring, and then outright cringy. But once the twist kicked in I was fully on board.
5⭐️ I picked the book up due to seeing the third book in the series being prominent in a number of book groups on Facebook. I was really surprised that I really enjoyed it. I think it was because it just it was an interesting story and was very riveting. #2024 #fiction #psycologicalthriller #contempoary
