This is a favorite read for the month! Patrick and Quinn are already having issues in their marriage when they accidentally knock out Santa and have to take over the job! I'm normally not big on the marriage-on-the-rocks trope but you see both men's struggles with the pressure of expectations and fall in love with watching them fall back in love with each other. Magical and heartfelt 5✨

Absolutely adored this book! Such a great locked room mystery with the perfect enemies to lovers romance!

My reactions to this novel cycled through, 1) "Oh, this is good," 2) "Um, ew?" 3) "Wait...what?" 4) "Why is this guy fighting so much?" Overall, it's a unique look at how family secrets and dysfunctional habits can surface in the face of grief. It presents the reordering of a family as a sort of forced metamorphosis, especially the part where the caterpillar becomes, like, soup before becoming a butterfly. Soft pick. #castthedie #tob25 longlist
