Did some reading this morning until the news of another hurricane hit my newsfeed. Went and got our sandbags early to avoid the lines and will make our plan tomorrow 🫣

Another quickly consumable thriller from Lapena.
This might be my favorite of hers, usually the characters are unlikable to the point that you can‘t really cheer for anyone, but while many of these characters are deeply flawed, I really felt for a few of them. The twists were as wild as I‘ve come to expect from her.

Low pick but still a decent quick read. Avery, a 9 year old girl goes missing and everyone‘s life is upended with secrets revealed, marriages broken and parents questioning their own children‘s motives. You never really know who your neighbors are….

Everyone Here is Lying is on par with other Lapena books; good read, keeps you guessing, twisty ending.

What do you get when you cross a bunch of lies, a manipulative and narcissistic child and a whodunnit?

A bit of a snail crawl, to be honest.

It was engaging, but I found it a bit draggy! Three stars for this one.

Really fast paced which is good, but it left me a little underwhelmed

This was quite good. It didn‘t take long to get moving and everyone has something to hide! I was surprised that something was revealed about half-way through the book, so earlier than I would have expected, but there was more to come. We followed many different characters, including one of the detectives. Avery was a pain in the butt; sure didn‘t like her. The end seemed almost unfinished; I certainly would have liked to know what happened after.

Another captivating and unputdownable domestic thriller from Shari Lapena,focusing on the disappearance of 9 year old Avery, her father was the last person to see her and when he did see her he slapped her so hard she fell over....In this small neighborhood, secrets abound, and not everyone is willing to share theirs in order to help find Avery One of the Queens of misdirection in all of the best ways, a twisty action filled read.⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Shari always keeps you engaged and wanting to know the whole truth. My reading challenge had slowed down but I‘ve got my foot on the gas now. #47of2023

Another #RoadTripReads that hubby and I listened to. A whole host of messed up characters. So many of them I just didn‘t like. Despite that, I actually did enjoy the story.

At first I thought I might slam this story for including a child in this cast of unlikable characters, but honestly it was fun to read, and I was intrigued to read to the conclusion.

I really hate when I‘m the exception. Everyone seems to love this book. I have enjoyed other Lapena books, but this one didn‘t do it for me. I can‘t even go into why I didn‘t love it because of spoilers. I didn‘t pan it because I did want to finish it, and I will continue to read her books, but I just didn‘t find this believable.

Wow, this was really quite good…and while there may be some believability issues for some…it wasn‘t an issue for me. The premise felt like a refreshing change from the normal domestic suspense out there and I gobbled it up.

- January LaVoy was phenomenal…usually, I would complain about having separate narrators but between the writing and her exceptional narrating skills; that wasn‘t much of an issue.

I borrowed this from the library in print and in audio and read the combination of forms over the weekend. The narrator was particularly good. Most of it was really good but I do agree with other Littens that the ending (maybe the last quarter or so) let it down. But still a fast read that I more or less enjoyed. 🤷🏻‍♀️

This was a good whodunnit book. 9 year old Avery is missing, and there are many suspects on the street she lives on. Not a very satisfying ending however ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

For me, I have to somewhat like the characters. I did like some, but some were just insufferable. I liked the story for the main part. But, I just couldn't stand these people. I really didn't care if the girl came back or not 🤷🏻‍♀️ 3.5

Everyone really is lying in this book. Avery the young nine year old daughter is very calculated and reminded of an older version of the daughter in Baby Teeth. It was a great thriller that I couldn't put down.

This book reads like fast-paced soap opera. Each character is not what they seem, and I couldn't stop reading to find out what happened.

I think this is the first Shari Lapena book for me and it certainly won‘t be the last. I own several of her previous books and I‘m definitely going to bump them up in my TBR because I just sped through this one because I had to know what was going to happen next. It was so good and I couldn‘t get enough!

After his mistress Nora breaks up with him, William returns home to find his difficult daughter Avery is home when she should be at school. After slapping her, William leaves the house. When he arrives home later, he finds Avery is missing. The book becomes the hunt for Avery, with William as the chief suspect.

The multiple points of view did not bother me as much as usual. The book was interesting right from the start. it was fun to read.

The story dragged a little at some points and I didn‘t like any of the characters, but the ending left me wanting more. #thrillers

I‘m so pleased that Shari Lapena has found an outlet for her insane twisted thoughts through writing, cause if this woman didn‘t get these thoughts onto paper, there would be a lot of chaos in her life.

In this domestic thriller, a difficult young girl disappears, her father is suspected, and with each new understanding of the situation, everything changes. I did not want to stop listening to this! This is my second read from Lapena but it for sure won‘t be my last. Super satisfying!

This is a great book! Shari Lapena is one of my favorite authors. Everyone in this book is, or seems to be guilty of something. Where is Avery? Is she already dead and buried somewhere? Did she run away? There is a crazy plot twist to this one. I highly recommend this book.

The title of this book is perfect because literally EVERYONE is lying! I mean things get MESSY…in the best possible way 😆. I can‘t think of one character, save the brother of the girl that goes missing, who isn‘t the worst possible version of themselves. Regardless I enjoyed the drama and the journey and really enjoyed the twist to the last few sentences. 🌟🌟🌟🌟💫

This was a quick, pretty good read!

Nine year old, Avery Wooler goes missing and as the police search for her it becomes obvious that everyone involved is not what they seem. The ending was a bit abrupt, but overall this was terrific. Shari Lapena is a must read author for me. Thanks to NetGalley and Penguin for the free copy in exchange for an honest review.

This was an easy to read thriller about infidelity, a difficult child, and a neighbourhood with secrets. Although there were a lot of characters (many unlikable) it was easy to follow. I enjoyed watching the neighborhood unravel and the secrets be revealed as they searched for a missing child. The ending did leave you hanging slightly and I would be interested in a sequel to see how the main characters handle the revelations. 4/5 stars.
