Excited for #auldlangspine2025!
Is it overkill to check out all these now? Yes. But it feeds my winter hoarding impulse, so I went with it.
I might (will) have to cheat and start Frozen River before Jan 1, because it has a list of holds. (I‘m honestly surprised I got it already.) I figure this is allowable because ~technically~ it wasn‘t on your official #auldlangspine list 😉
I just realized I made this a few weeks back but never posted it. I am looking forward to #AuldLangSpine 2025. I marked out books I‘ve read already. These were all 4 or 5 stars books for me 🤩. ✨ = most likely to pick up in January and 👀 = I will definitely be reading 🤣 Thanks for the list @Marmie7 and our fearless leader @monalyisha for being our gracious host!
Excited to be participating in #AuldLangSpine this for the first time. I usually miss the sign ups and then get all jealous of everybody and their fun lists, but I have a fun list of my own this year from @thebacklistbook ! I think this may be the nudge I need to finally start reading the Throne of Glass series. I‘ll have to start with # 1 but hopefully will make my way to # 3 later in 2025! ⬇️
This chaotic graphic is an accurate representation of my reading life currently, but delighted with @Singout ‘s #AuldLangSpine list. I‘ve read 1-2-7-11-14-17 and every one of the others I‘ve not read sound right up my alley. In fact 3 I‘ve had on my list. However 2 are completely new to me. Love all the NF! I‘m off to place library holds, focusing on the ones pictured. Thanks to the master matchmaker @monalyisha #ALSpine #AuldLangSpine2025
This has been a very busy week at work so I‘ve only now been able to really look at the #AuldLangSpine list provided by @Jerdencon and I can‘t wait to start planning for January. We‘re a good match bc I also had The Women and almost put Reykjavik on my list! I also love the Val McDermid book. I especially see a lot of potential with the historical fiction picks on this list. I‘m going to see what my library can provide! Happy reading to us both.

Thank you, Sarah. I've already read a few of them, but also saw a lot that are on the higher slopes of #MountTBR (I'll post separately).
Thanks for organising, @monalyisha
Thank you again @monalyisha for putting this event together! This list from @CBee looks very promising 🤩 Three of them I‘ve already read, and four are already on my TBR.
Looking forward to digging in and seeing what‘s available from the library and what I might want to ask Santa to bring me 🎅🏼
#auldlangspine
Okay Carrie, I‘m excited! And I gave you double this amount on my list 🫢🫢😂😂 (I can never narrow it down). I‘ve read #6 and #10 (loved both), but none of the others 👏🏻 I‘ll start with I‘m Sorry You Feel That Way since I bought it recently (have you read Our Fathers by Wait? Excellent book). Yay! @CSeydel
#auldlangspine2025 #ALSpine2025
This list looks great! Think I‘ve only read one or two of them already so excited to start going through them and can‘t wait for January! 🎉📚
Thanks again for organizing @monalyisha and looking forward to reading @MallenNC #auldlangspine
Registered for #AuldLangSpine. Creating my list had me thinking that was this year?? It‘s been a long one, folks 😅 This is such a fun challenge to do each year and @monalyisha is a great matchmaker! I recommend signing up especially if swaps seem intimidating to you. It‘s a neat way to find books that you didn‘t know you needed.
I'm all signed up for #auldlangspine .
All registered for #AuldLangSpine2025! My favorite Litsy event every year! @monalyisha is an amazing matchmaker (definite Librarian Skillz, for sure)!
It's the most wonderful time of the year! Sign ups are open for #AuldLangSpine with @monalyisha - head to her page for details and sign up link.
If you've never taken part, I highly recommend it! I have met some fabulous Littens, and some fabulous books, through this reading event. Alyisha always does such a thoughtful, wonderful job matchmaking the readers.
Thanks for a great #auldlangspine list, @IndoorDame !! I read 5 (marked with 🔔) in January and I loved each! I think my favorite is Foster by Claire Keegan, so much so that I can see adding it to my list for 2025. I plan to get around to several others on the list throughout the year, namely Fingersmith. Thanks for a great match @monalyisha ♥️
#auldlangspine I‘ve been matched with @Birdsong28 and look forward to digging in. I‘ve already found one on a kindle deal and have read all of the synopsis to gear up and plan my library holds lol. The list is nice mix of things for me to enjoy, January is shaping up to be a good month of reading. Thank you @Birdsong28 And thank you to @monalyisha for putting this together during the busy holiday season!
@Kristy_K - I am so looking forward to kicking off 2024 with some reads from this list! 🥂🍾
Thank you - @monalyisha - for curating great pairings & organizing this fun kickoff. 💜 #auldlangspine #auldlangspine2024
Excited for #auldlangspine with @kspenmoll
All of these books are new to me except the Louise Penny. Going to start putting in my requests at the library. @monalyisha
In the spirit of #AuldLangSpine here‘s a bit about me. @Chelsea.Poole @monalyisha
Excited to have registered for #AuldLangSpine2024. Such a great way to start out the year. My list this year seems all over the place, which just means there‘s going to be something to choose from no matter what my match likes 😂
I signed up for #AuldLangSpine for the first time and I‘m excited! It looks like a perfect way to brighten up January! 💗💗
My second year with @monalyisha ‘s #AuldLangSpine. I was matched with @TheKidUpstairs who had a fabulous list…the top three I was able to read in January. The Colony was my favorite and will likely make my list for this year! I plan to read from Megan‘s list throughout the year. I‘ve just borrowed The Whalebone Theatre, so that‘s up next! A Murmur of Bees is not pictured, but is a priority too!
Thanks again for hosting a great event @monalyisha and thanks for the giveaway! ❤️
I would choose the Change if I win! #auldlangspinegiveaway
@monalyisha First, Thank you for hosting #auldlangspine event and now a giveaway! I‘d love to read The Change. It‘s been enjoyable to read a little outside of my comfort zone while sharing a common thread with my partner and also follow some new friends. #AuldLangSpineGiveaway ❤️📕
Here's my #AuldLangSpine month end wrap-up! I finished three amazing books and I'm halfway through Scythe. I didn't get to Speak yet (I tend to neglect physical books) but plan to read it this month and work on some others from @shortsarahrose 's list throughout the rest of the year.
Thanks @monalyisha for your amazing matching skills and dedication to this event each year! It was my first time participating and I really enjoyed the experience ☺️
I have picked these 2 to commit to for #AuldLangSpine but I can see myself reading more of these throughout the year. You have a great list @moll thanks for taking the guesswork out of choosing my #TBRTarot book this month for the book that starts with a number prompt. Happy reading!
@Sapphire @monalyisha I‘m getting ready 😊😊😊👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 #auldlangspine #ALSpine
My undergraduate friends and I have a tradition of getting together for New Years - this will be the 17th annual meeting, I believe? Now at the stage in life with young kids, we're much more of a stay in and play games group - and also singing Auld Lang Syne with the Scots dialect!
#ThisOrThat
I want to take a moment for a shout out for books on multiple #auldlangspine lists. Trees and Tomorrow were top 2022 reads for both @CBee and me. While it may have helped @monalyisha match us, there are a couple others on CBee s list that I wholeheartedly loved as well. So for those watching all the lists and hoping you get in next year - take heart in the books on lots of lists and play along!
Here is my #AuldLangSpine list from @shortsarahrose 🎉
I have only read three of these (8, 12, & 17) and enjoyed them - I'm looking forward to diving into the rest. Most of these are new to me, which is exciting! I've already looked and found most of them available through my library so I'll be narrowing down what to read first soon 🤩
@monalyisha
Oooh! What a fun list! @Sharpeipup Thanks!
I just started 18 Tiny Deaths—the audio—today, before I saw the list. 😄👍
@monalyisha
Requested these 4 books from the library (hard copy and ebooks to cover my bases) for #auldlangspine
Hope to get to a few more on the list in January too but these sounded good to start with! @JenReadsAlot @monalyisha
Great list from @BookNAround for #AuldLangSpine - I can‘t wait to check out some new to me reads in January. I‘ve only read two of here, so plenty to explore. I see two authors named Ann I have previously enjoyed, so I may start with those☺️ Thank you!
@monalyisha
I‘m so excited to explore this list from @Cinfhen again this year. We were well-paired last year because several of her picks ended up on my 2022 list. I‘ve read 2,6, 7, and 12 already but there‘s a lot for me to choose from for January. I‘m not sure where to start, but I‘m sure it will be good. #AuldLangSpines
Just received my #auldlangspine list. I‘ve got some work to do as I‘ve only read 2 of the 14.
Thanks @Maria514626 and @monalyisha
I‘m really excited about this list @Chrissyreadit 🥳I love how there‘s a little of everything. I‘ve read one and DNF another, and the rest looks so good. Cackle and Kaiju Preservation Society are ones I‘ve been thinking about picking even before this, I‘ve been meaning to try Georgette Heyer for years, and I‘m so excited to have nonfiction choices for audiobooks! #auldlangspine Thanks again @monalyisha 💖
Woohoo 🥳 I LOVE this list @MallenNC @monalyisha ❣️❣️❣️Even though I‘ve read several I‘m thrilled with the the remaining choices. A few were already on my radar and I was planning on reading and the others seem great!!! I‘ve put a few library requests in and hopefully I‘ll get them in time. #AuldLangSpine
Now I need to patiently wait until January 1😅
If you haven‘t participated in #AuldLangSpine (formerly known as #NewYearWhoDis), now is your opportunity, but you must be quick! Check out @monalyisha for more details—it‘s a really fun event where you create a list of your favorite books this year for someone else to read from, and then Alyisha pairs you up with someone else‘s list for you to read from!
Only 4 spots left - this is such a fun Litsy event!
Check out @monalyisha for all the details! #auldlangspine
Take note:
I have 4 spots left and I‘m getting antsy. Whether they fill or not, I‘ll be closing the #AuldLangSpine registration form on Tuesday night (11/29) at 6pm (EST). I want to start making these matches for real!
On the one hand, I‘m happy not to be turning people away this year (like I‘ve had to in previous years). On the other, I‘m shocked there are still spots open! Tell your friends! 💀
