Soubhiville I loved this one! It‘s probably one of my favorites. I love the gnome Night Watch officer on the bird. I love the first offering of socks to help with the disguise and the speculation of who the helper was in the dark. The prince getting kicked in the Nethers for being rude, and having to answer for it in the end. I love all of these characters slowly revealing themselves to each other, and that each of them have their own reasons for pretending 3y

Soubhiville I loved the ending, the soldier going home to the son they couldn‘t raise. The look at political wars and the fact that the gov‘t has no regards towards the troops, as long as they keep fighting, even when there is zero hope of winning. TP went the extra mile with this one! 3y

DrexEdit I really enjoyed this story. Nothing is as it seems and people are breaking down barriers everywhere! It was nice to see a couple of female characters that were as shrewd and intelligent as Sam Vimes. 3y

khooliha Just finished this one today, and the fact that it took me like 2 weeks to read it is a good indication of how I feel about it. I will say, it struck me as a sort of structural cousin of Night Watch, which was interesting. My favorite moment has to be when Polly finally sees Paul and how someone had given him colored chalk - it's a tiny but beautiful moment. 3y

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I‘m a week behind, but I really enjoyed this one! I liked all the gender subversions and twists and all the commentary on war, the “other”, religion, etc, etc… 3y
