These are the first two books in the Harper Connolly series. I love this series. Harper was struck by lightning when she was a teenage, and now she can see dead people. So now her and her stepbrother travel the country trying to solve murders.

I meant to grab this when it came out, but blanked. When I saw it recently I snatched it up & quickly read it as a antidote to my reading slump.
It was marvelous.
Gus was a delight; I liked seeing Nightingale young & carefree (even tho from more distance than usual), & queer 1920s NY was fantastic--I squeed with every every jazz musician name drop.
Even better, he's finally made it clear Nightingale is ace, which made me love him more.

I really want to know what the “beast” looks like I really do … I really enjoyed this read and I‘m so happy I have the next book in the series… but I‘m away from home so I‘ll still have to wait until I get home but I do have it :)

I‘ll admit I completely fell off but ready to jump back in. Are we still buddy reading this series?

Tense times for Mercy - but as always she manages to get herself in and out of trouble.

Hazel and Ben live in Fairfold where humans and fae live side by side and a mysterious fae boy sleeps in an impenetrable glass coffin. When someone frees the boy, Ben and Hazel and their friend Jack, a changeling, are pulled into a fae battle for power, and the secrets they keep from each other and themselves may prove deadly. Loved the main characters, the rich imagining of a town rich in fae magic, and the new love stories for both characters.

My next read for tomorrow.
