All I have to say is I can‘t wait to read the next book
The 4th Dresden Files book is fast paced and full of action. Harry is charged with discovering who has killed the Summer Knight. The action in this novel is non-stop. We get to meet up again with some favorites from past books, as well as new allies. A satisfying addition to the series. The faerie politics was a bit much for me, and with the fast pace I had difficulty keeping up with the complicated plot scheme. ⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 ❤️📚 #serieslove2023
Stormy day today with heavy rain that may come with flash flooding, high winds and may end with snow. We just had a huge flash in our backyard and then a heart stopping boom of thunder. This is where I‘ll be for the day! ❤️📚⛈️
Reading the 4th book in the Dresden Files series for #serieslove2023. ❤️📚
Vengeful fairies. Grumpy wizards. Eager werewolves.
And quite a lot of Looney Tunes references. 🤔🤣

Finished this one over my lunch break today. Then I went on a walk to the art garden. #LunchtimeReading #BookandLunch Book 4 in my #Dresden #Series #Reread
🎧 Toot Toot … 😆 … the 6” pizza loving dewdrop fairy, a surprise appearance of an X and Billy the werewolf. A lot of fighting!
The stunning Winter queen of the faeries tricks Harry into taking a case, he‘s got to solve a murder and stop a war between the Summer & Winter courts.
Libby finally moved book 4 loan today!! WOOT!
Halfway through my reread!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The previous book in the series was a disappointment. However, I was told it gets better. How right they were. The plot was much better in this one and the pacing was also an improvement.
I enjoyed that we learned more about Harry's past. I finally feel like we are getting a better picture of what makes him who he is. I also like his tenacity and loyalty. He maybe gruff and reckless but he has a good heart. He is growing on me and I look...
Book 4 of my reread, and the series keeps getting better! I noticed that this is the book where Karin Murphy becomes much more a three-dimensional character and less just "tough cop". How she treats Dresden in the first book wouldn't fly today, so it's good to see the rationale develop for her being almost a white knight character.

I feel like every time I read another installment of The Dresden Files it becomes my new favorite. However, this one started strong and KEPT GOING. Full of action and adventure with characters I love. Not to mention I laughed throughout. There was no point that I felt there was fluff or a point that was unnecessary. Pure perfection. God I would kill to have a TV or movie series of The Dresden Files done right. Wishful thinking as always.
I read these when I'm stuck for something else to read. Was OK.
Jim Butcher with another great book in the Dresden Files series. He once again mixes Vampires, Werewolves, Fairies, and Wizards in modern day Chicago. He keeps up the humor and breakneck pacing of the previous entries in the series, this time with an emphasis on the Fey.
Completed listening to this one tonight. James masters makes the perfect narrator for these books, I can‘t imagine Dresden sounding like anyone else.
Starting this tomorrow night. I love the Dresden file, the audio books more so!
Here‘s my link to my condensed Summer Knight review. I may or may not do a in depth review on this one. Please let me know what you think:

Thank you for this #ThoughtfulThursday @MoonWitch94 😊
🍉 I love most fruits, so any summer fruits could qualify! 😋🍒🍓🍇🍉🍌🍊🍍🍑🍎🍐🥝
Also, ice cream! 🍦😳
📚 Tagged! Granted, it takes place in the Faerie Court of Summer rather than the season, but it still counts and I love some “Harry Dresden: Wizard For Hire” adventures! 😁
🐳 Yes! I don‘t believe I‘ve seen dolphins in the ocean, but I‘ve been in multiple whale watches! 🚣♂️
Finished it today, man this one just flew by! It keeps getting better and better loved the addition of the Summer and Winter fairies. Will post review soon!
After a long day of work it‘s nice to know you‘re coming home to a good book!!
Also: everybody responded so politely to my picture of my pet rat Dumplin I thought it was unfair that my other rat isn‘t getting as much attention 😠 so here‘s her sweet sister Noodle. She‘s the lazy one 😂
My little buddy likes to lay on my chest while I read :)
Finished King of Thorns, will be posting review tomorrow or Monday !!
Reading The Dresden Files again, can‘t wait for the explosions !! I know if any of the series I‘m reading are going to break me, this series will be the one that breaks me !! #SummerKnight
I am continuing to love this series. Every book is a different species of supernatural & a new mystery to solve. I loved seeing Dresden hit his lowest point yet come back. I enjoy watching him grow as magician & a person. This time Dresden has to help the fairies & solve the murder of the Summer Knight.
.
1. The Dirt (it's taking me forever to read this book) and Summer Knight
2. The BDB series. I've read them a few times through.
3. Errands, reading and a nap. 😴

This is one of my favorites in the series. I love the fey intrigue and the final scenes are among the most exciting of any fantasy work. The series story continues to build.
My favorite...so far.

"In the name of the pizza lord, charge!!" Toot Toot to the rescue ??
Bob the skull has easily become my favorite character in this series. He is full of sass & sarcasm which makes almost any interaction with him highly entertaining.
I started off my #24in48 by finishing up this audiobook I've been listening to! It took a few books for this series to get rolling, but under advisement from my friends, I stuck with it and now I'm loving it. There are a few things about Harry (and Jim Butcher's writing) that still annoy me, but the world he has built is really fascinating and I love the creative detail he has sunk into the plot, characters, and relationships.
I love that Jim Butcher and I are close enough in age to have the same pop culture references. 😂😂
For those who don't know, this is the honourable Wizard Harry Dresden trying to keep the world from ending, while a war is raging around him 😁
If you are not reading the Dresden Files yet, you really should start.
Got everything I need for this Christmas break on this shelf. Books, Netflix, crochet, and my throat coat cause of course I'm a bit sick.
Anyone else having problems playing downloaded audiobooks in Libby lately?
I have to redownload them to get them to play at all.
Another Dresden Files book down. I love listening to these. James Marsters is an excellent narrator. Can't wait for the next one! #audioboook #DresdenFiles
I was reading The Water Knife and enjoying it, but after too much overtime at work and too little sleep...I need something a little lighter. Going back to one of my favorite series for a little brain-break.
My guilty pleasure series, if I believed I should ever feel guilty about pleasures. This is one of the better written & that‘s because it‘s almost solely focused on Harry. When Butcher tries to write women, he fails miserably. This is entertaining & mindless & who am I kidding? I‘ll finish them all as my feminist sensibilities scream in pain. Drinking game idea: Take a shot every time Harry says “Hells bells”. No, wait. Don‘t do that. You‘ll die.

This is my favorite Dresden Files book so far. I literally laughed out loud multiple times during this one. Toot-Toot and his pizza-lovin' buddies in particular cracked me up. The ending of this one was really sweet and hopeful. I enjoyed it.
Marsden's reading continues to impress as well.
When I said I was reading the Harry Dresden series, people would always say “it really picks up around book 4.” I get it now. The first 3 were good, but Summer Knight is on a whole new level. The depth of characters is more engaging and each one has a purpose for being there. I really enjoyed this one - #3 left me with a lot of questions but I didn‘t care enough to dig for answers. #4 just left me hungry for #5.
Appropriately, I ended summer by listening to Jim Butcher‘s novel Summer Knight. The biggest praise I can offer actually goes to the reader, James Marsters. He‘s done great with the previous books, but his performance is amazing in this one.
The book has some issues, mainly regarding how it handles the women in the cast. I especially disliked what‘s done with Murphy.
