The husband and I ventured to a Korean BBQ restaurant and had a feast! Lots of veggies and meats, our favorite was the bulgogi beef. We also had the Korean fish shaped pastry filled with red beans and fried rice cakes with powdered sugar!
And the other day I made cheesy Korean corn (bottom right Pic), it was delicious!

Midwinter coffee flights!
1. No - but it is nice!
2. I read some children‘s Christmas books while drinking a Gingerbread latte from Starbucks. 🎄☕️

This is a good installment in the Edible series -- some of them are a bit drier than others, but this one seemed genuinely enthusiastic about ice cream, and not too pedantic about how X counts but Y doesn't blahblahblah.
It's illustrated and has recipes, like the others, and makes me wonder if we should try making ice cream at home... just to see what it's like.
I love the “Edible“ series, and got this new one for Christmas, sooo when I was restless and couldn't decide what to read, I decided to grab it.
...Mostly right now I am really craving some vanilla ice cream, which was a predictable outcome.
Wow - what a gem. Thank you @catiewithac - you‘ve married my two loves (history and cooking!) together in a book. Cant wait to dive in after the festivities and learn and cook! It‘s perfect. Thank you. And as soon as spring comes I‘m planting my little seed tag under my little library window. ♥️♥️♥️
Fascinating overview of food in medieval Islamic world. The author discusses everything from cookbooks, regional variation, borrowing/incorporation of foods/traditions from across the known world, the impact of the discovery of the New World & introduction of foods such as tomatoes & potatoes (spoiler—they led to big changes), utensils, cooking pots, importance of aromatics etc…numerous medieval as well as contemporary recipes also included.
An early morning coffee date with this beauty… we may not see each other often but I love that we can pick up right where we left off! 💗
Starting another book about food…oddly enough (okay, perhaps not so oddly) my research is making me hungry! 😂
