After his killers were finally convicted, his mother brought a civil case which bankrupted one of the most powerful factions in the Klan in America. I learnt a lot more about the state of civil rights in the South & how the Klan was so intertwined with power & politics. Enraging but a must read👇

Bk12 of March & Bk2 of #20in4 is done! And I‘ve hit the 20hr already🙌 This one was a slow burner, I almost gave it up after the first few chapters,then it picked up & hooked me into the story. I‘ve never understood fundamental religion, especially ones that say women are inferior. Bk7 & my last for #FabulousFebruary is done. It was an intriguing book, it‘s a very similar style to Laura Purcell & Sarah Perry. They all have a very lyrical way of writing & all are either Edwardian or Victorian or earlier. I love it when a I read such original SciFi! This collection of novellas is so unique, it‘s the 1st SciFi to have a Himba girl as MC, to use mathematical equations as a basis of a form of energy & the variety of alien life at the University is fantastic. A dizzying ride through the mind of Patricia Highsmith, the author of Strangers On A Train. Or was it? A blend of fact and fiction, it‘s difficult to know which are the facts and which fiction, so in that the author has succeeded. Two young doctors in a London Hospital at the end of the 19th Century are conducting unethical experiments with the dying. When their colleague witnesses one of these experiments he‘s haunted for the rest of his life.
