This is now my favorite nature/natural book. I listened on Audio but will definitely purchase a copy. As my agoraphobia worsened this winter this book made me question if I just not in the right location. (US) It reminded me of home (Ireland) and how important landscapes are to our psyche. It reads like poetry, with descriptions that take your breath away. I recommend to all interested in Western Scottish Croft life. #NaturalLitsy

TheBookHippie Oh I‘m going to get this. My good friend -who is terminal misses Ireland so much. I‘ll read this to her. 4w
Cuilin @TheBookHippie so sorry to hear about your friend. Yes it would be a beautiful read. Scotland and Ireland are more similar than I thought. 4w
kspenmoll Where do you live in US? Some Irish friends of mine thought Maine & its coast reminded them of Ireland. 4w

kspenmoll @TheBookHippie Christine so sorry about your friend. You are such a blessing. 4w
Cuilin @kspenmoll I‘m in New Hampshire. Closer to Vermont than Maine. Though I do like Maine. 4w

My #FridayNightShare pick for this week‘s Non-Fiction Animal theme is this giant stunning coffee table book on my three favorite sea creatures. The photographs are gorgeous & there is something so cozy & calming about marveling at octopi, jellyfish & especially seahorses.🐙🪼🦑🪸💙

I finished this one :) I really enjoyed it and I am looking forward to the next discussion on this book. I found myself discussing it with my husband as well. I enjoyed that it didn't feel preachy at all. Talking a bit about the farming practices made me lean back towards when I was a vegan (maybe I will transition towards vegetarian or pescatarian - vegan was so hard to follow). #NaturalLitsy @AllDeBooks

Chrissyreadit i‘m up to chapter 4 and wish i could talk about it to people IRL- and get my son and mom to read or listen to it! It is helping me in more basic ways though- like just eat more fruit… 1mo

Spending my #HyggeHour curled up on the couch & deciding between catching up with the tagged book or starting The Rescuers for #ChildrensClassicsRead2024 depending on what I feel like. A cup of herbal tea & shortbread cookie (not pictured) will be enjoyed. It‘s just a bit warm so far tonight for the super soft slippers my friend gave me for Christmas but I love them. 🤍

MittenGirlPeach What a lovely evening. Those slippers look amazing! 1mo

#NaturalLitsy #MidWinterSolace

My #FridayNightShare pick this week is a book that made my favorites of 2022 list. Both funny & sad, very quirky, about life, family, hope & grief (& involving animals, a fox & a dog in particular) & it‘s narrated by the ghosts of the local cemetery. This book stole my heart. 💙💙💙

DebinHawaii The author‘s first book is also excellent 2mo

Finished Part 3, can't wait to hear what others thoughts are so far. I know one thing that has really hit home, I really need to limit (eliminate) my coke intake. I used to never drink it, it was water, coffee (black), or wine (red); but then I got hooked back on the soda.

@AllDeBooks

TEArificbooks I started by switching to Coke Zero sugar to reduce the sugar intake at least. I just like flavor to much. I drink water and tea mostly. But I don‘t drink coffee and need the caffeine from coke sometimes. I do like sparkling water with flavor but it goes flat so quickly. 2mo
ElizaMarie @TEArificbooks I do like Coke Zero. I used to only drink soda when out (like part of going out to dinner). Great idea :) 2mo

I just finished listening to Part One of this book. I feel like I have more questions than answers! I find this book fascinating and have been very interested in listening to more of the studies in this book. I am working on Part Two so that I can be “ready“ for the discussion. Can't wait to hear others thoughts on this.
