Chillin with a good book. #meow
I just started this and I am in love. ❤️❤️❤️
I just started this and I am in love. ❤️❤️❤️
I feel like this is the most perfect cover choice for this book. Also, I relate to this woman. What an amazing read this was, and I can‘t believe I waited so long to meet Jane. ❤️
So far this is so fun. I wish I had read it as a kid!
I can‘t remember the last time I read a complete book of poetry, let alone devoured one. This was stunning.
2018 has been slow so far when it comes to reading, but I finished this yesterday! Not my favorite, but a fun read. I‘m happy to have that first book under my belt.
My best reading pal went to kitty heaven on Friday. I had almost 17 years with this sweetie pie, but as I read this morning I just miss her by my side.
My penpal @Shvonne is amazing!!! I still have to do all my Christmas shopping and this girl is sending me PERFECT gifts. Thank you Ashley! I am seriously so lucky to have you as a friend!
It‘s 9am in December and it‘s warm enough for me to be reading the the backyard with the dogs. Too bad my yard is full of dead plants! Haha!
It‘s my baby‘s first birthday!!!! The photo on the left is from the day I got her at 8 weeks old, and the right photo is from this morning. #dogsoflitsy
This is such a strange book, but I can‘t stop reading.
Relaxing after a long day at work with my best little friend. 😊
This book was an emotional journey to say the least. Hillary Clinton spoke directly to the little girl in my soul and made me believe I am great just the way I am. I hope someday when I have children more people will stand up for them the way Hillary stood up for me.
My baby is pooped from Thanksgiving.
This has been a slow burn for me so far—I‘m about 60 pages in. I‘m still learning the rhythm of Hannah‘s writing, but so far I‘m liking this.
My goal is to finish this today! Lucky the have the fire on at work, so while I wait I can pretend I am somewhere cozy!!
It‘s too cold for my reading bench...I have to wait for my ride inside. ☹️ But, this book is impossible to put down.
I just want to go home and read. #worksucks
Is it just me or is organizing books the best and worst part about moving?? I‘m so overwhelmed! But I am being strong and have already added a few to the purge pile...
After a weekend of moving I couldn‘t find any of the books I‘m reading, so I grabbed the first one from my TBR that caught my eye. Loving this so far.
Eugenides is a notoriously slow writer, and these short stories are so perfectly crafted and contemplative that it‘s easy to imagine the author spending hours on single sentences. While not as engaging as his novels, I found this collection lovely and impeccably written. And it‘s definitely not a spooky book, but I‘m decorating for Halloween and couldn‘t resist some spooky flair in the photo!
I‘m back and feeling better! I will admit Mr. Eugenides has a lot to do with it! He‘s one of my favorites and this collection has been great so far. 😊 I missed you all and I‘m glad to be back on Litsy. Thanks to all of you for your support during my hard time.
I've had a difficult couple of weeks regarding my mental health. I have major depressive disorder, and sometimes I just can't get a handle on it. When I go through these bouts of depression, I usually have no desire to read. This time I am still struggling to read, but I've been browsing Litsy every day and it helped me so much. Thank you all for making this such an amazing community. ❤️
Loving this so far! I don't read a lot of YA, but when I do this is exactly what I want. 😊
So, this happened this morning....Colorado is one glorious gal. Seriously, no filter! 😍😍
I loved this. I felt the end did drag on a teeny bit, but I am impressed by this novel. I'm always in awe of a writer who can be so smart and witty without being pretentious. The experimental style of this is bold and fun to read, all while being utterly devastating.
I am loving this so far! I'm blown away by how intelligent and funny this book is, all while being somber and reflective of grief. After reading A Little Life, this book feels like a breath of fresh air.
My awesome pen pal @Shvonne tagged me to post #fivebooks that have influenced my reading life. I tag @BarbaraBB
1. Into Thin Air was my first nonfiction obsession.
2. Harry Potter dominates my reading memory.
3. The Grapes of Wrath made me want to study English.
4. It is my most recent love. I wish I'd read it sooner.
5. Frank and Ernest was our favorite book to read with our dad. I got him a copy for his birthday a few years back!
Went to a wedding last night with my love. The goofy grin shows how much I love this guy!! ❤️❤️One of my favorite books at weddings is Seating Arrangements, what about you guys?
My baby had two surgeries today. She is not happy with mama.
Macbeth has always been my favorite Shakespeare play, but I've never seen it on stage. I am so excited! And, I'll be seeing it in October which means it will be extra spooky!
At the DMV and so thankful to have a good book! This is great so far!
Am I the only one who didn't think this was incredible? Yanagihara's writing is absolutely spectacular and intelligence seeps through every page, but I found this to be overwritten and at times contrived.
At the movies!!! 🎈
Sunday mornings are my favorite!! I'm steeping some of the chocolate tea I brought home from Nicaragua and enjoying my stack of library books. There's just nothing better than Sunday sunshine for reading. 😊
Yay! I set this goal because last year I barely finished 40 books, but I was knee-deep in grad school at the time. I'm going to try and reach 75, but I'm still happy!!
I sit on this bench every day after work while waiting for my boyfriend to come pick me up. It's where I get my best reading done. 🤓where do you guys like to read?
Im enjoying my book, and my Lola is enjoying her beer. (It's just a chew toy but I couldn't resist.) #dogsoflitsy
Thank you to my amazing pen pal @Shvonne for all of these spectacular books!!! I love them!! 😊😊#litsypenpals
I'm home from Nicaragua. Back to my routine, but also back to my lovely home library. 😊
Reading on the beach in Nicaragua. So freaking cool.
My reading perch for the week.
It's not that I don't like this, I'm just so not in the mood for the writing style right now. I got about 200 pages in and simply couldn't bring myself to care. Meh. Don't waste your time reading books you aren't loving!!! This feels like a winter read? I will try it again.
You guys. I am at work suffering through the day, wishing away the hours so I can return home to this book! I am 130 pages in and officially obsessed.
