#TeamSlaughter @Clwojick read this psychological thriller(extra points please!) and it was great. First in a series, Gwen Proctor married a serial killer. The book opens the moment he is uncovered- women slaughtered in her garage and she never knew- but the victims‘ families and the trolls don‘t believe she was innocent so she has to flee with her kids and keep moving to keep them safe. Now they have settled in rural TN-and are found4⭐️

A job well done by the author! I kept suspecting different characters and became just as untrusting of everyone like Gina/Gwen. I like the transformation of the MC into a strong, independent woman. Good suspense throughout. Looking forward to the next installment. #MountTBR

Loving my new Kindle Paperwhite and my new booksleeve for said Kindle. NOTE: Continue to buy books in print as much as you can. Books always work and their battery never dies or needs to be charged. Sometimes, however, a Kindle is very convenient and should be appreciated also ♥️

TrishB I buy both types all the time 😁 4mo

cj82487 I love that kindle sleeve! I'll always prefer physical books but it is nice when you're ready something hefty like a 1000+ pgs to be able to slip a kindle into your bag or at night to read without running the risk of accidentally dropping a book on your face 4mo

Generally a poor showing for this #24in48 - I haven‘t done a single challenge orfinished a book yet... but I did sneak in a bit of this thriller while the kids splashed in their pool this morning.

Samplergal I‘m amazed with two small children you can read four hours. I bow down to you. ❤️❤️❤️ 5mo
cj82487 My 24in48 this year was a weak 🤦‍♀️ I forgot to track the hour that I read before my kids got up, then I had forgot to pause my audiobook and had to rewind it so far back that I gave up trying to figure out how much time I actually listened 🤦‍♀️ but there's always next year 🤷‍♀️ 4mo

I am enjoying the strong female protagonist in this thriller. Gina is the spouse of a serial killer who needs to protect her kids after her husband is sent to prison. I am 2/3 finished and so far it is a solid thriller. Duke needs to get off my reading chair. Lol

I don't like thrillers...but my book club chose this (over Educated by Tara Westover, wtf!). I WOULD give this a straight-up PAN, but I guess it wouldn't be bad if you like reading thrillers? It just had zero substance for me and felt like a waste of precious reading time.

At least it was free through Prime Reading. 🤷‍♀️

This was decent, but I knew who all the players were going to be and I‘m not too good at guessing plot twists. A lot of repetition of the main character‘s thoughts. Yes, she‘s doing her best to be a good mom and a bad-ass. I get it. Maybe I‘ve spent too much time around sociopaths and their victims for this genre to be enjoyable. If thrillers are your jam, read it. 3/5

Reading with my best reading buddy (he is snoring). Trying to feel distracted and not mad at life right now. I just paid off my medical bills to get hit with my car needing about $3000 worth of repairs before I can get my inspection sticker. Looks like I will be car shopping, 🤢 The start of the year feels very bumpy and rough. Hoping I am getting it all out of the way so the rest of the year can be better. Much love to you beautiful people.

Most of this thriller worked for me until a key moment when the heroine made a decision so stupid I stopped caring whether she made it or not.

But goodness help me, I'm invested enough to read the sequel. So I guess the author knows what she's doing.

A bit slow getting into this one, but hard to put down once you get a few chapters in. Such a great book.

I really like how it gets into the head of the family of those horrible killers. That they don‘t know what their husbands/wives/children did, that they are victims as well, though perhaps not as well known or thought about.

This book spoke to one of my deepest fears of falling in love with someone who happens to be a serial killer. (Thanks, ID Channel, Who the bleep did I marry?) Cause we‘ve all seen that woman and judged her. In the beginning, a drunk driver smashes into a house, and reveals to Gina Royal a dead body hanging in the garage her husband never lets anyone into. Fast forward a couple of years and 8 identities later, Gwen Proctor lives with her 2 👇🏼

Reggie children trying to stake out some sort of normal and safe life.... that is until the body at the lake shows up. This was great. I got real invested in Gwen and was taken for quite an emotional ride. Total pick. 1y
