While the economic side that this book brings up is way more complicated than can be really truly portrayed in a graphic novel like this, it brings it to the readers attention, which I think is really important. Anda gains so much confidence in herself and also learns to stick up for herself and others. Loved it! Also, #jenwang handles the art so well :D

Okay, this one was right in between a pick and so-so for me. I LOVED the concept and the writing was fantastic. However, main storyline was a bit drawn out. And the ending...not enough changed to justify the long drawn out storyline. But I LOVED the concept. GAHHH

Some things were great, the concept was wonderful. A curse of three sisters haunting this coastal town every summer, drowning boys, getting revenge on the town that drowned them. But it turned into more of a love story than I wanted. A lot of the very dark emotional stuff was kind of brushed off? Which is always disappointing. So many mixed feelings. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I‘m embarrassed that it‘s taking me this long to read this book! I‘ve tried to read it several times, but the audiobook was just what I needed to finish!!

I don‘t know if I will ever actually get to reading this, but I‘m in love with the cover!! #coverart

I thoroughly enjoyed this beautiful story of gender-fluidity and loving yourself! Definite recommend.

This book was pretty intense most of the time!! I didn‘t enjoy the audiobook as much...I think I would have a way better time reading the physical copy, but I think it‘s worth a re-read! Definitely not your average fairy tale. I‘m curious if she will put out more books in the same universe. The ending definitely left that possibility open. #audiobook #fairytales

Just finished the audiobook and I LOVED IT!! The writing style was multi-narrative, and so multi-faceted, I was on the edge of my seat, laughing and exclaiming out loud at one point. In a world with little hope for these ladies, it was awesome to journey with them through their fight for freedom and individuality.

“Boof calmly explained.” 😂 I think my favorite thing about a good picture book is when there is a simple sentence and the picture tells another story. This was my favorite page in the book!! I couldn‘t stop laughing about it!! The whole book is full of awesomness like this!

I haven‘t been emotionally wrenched by a book in a very long time. It tells the story of a girl who has to learn to trust in her own heart and mind, and find the courage to stand up for what she knows is right.

I was wary picking up another #riordan book because I tried to read the #percyjackson series, and it was just a little bit too kiddish for me. I was pleasantly surprised. The #diversity in this book is absolutely impressive. From disabilities to religion, almost every character has something that makes them unique, and towards the end of the book, it‘s shown how those traits that in society might have been treated as a weakness becomes a strength.
