Impressive free magazine at the airport lounge! About 2018 in audiobooks. My Dad said how can u pass up a mag about books? I said I can't I'll be listening to my book on the plane while reading this mag😄😄 He said i guess that's the bookworm life. He gets me!👍

Heading out on a vacation this morning. All the first cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents from my stepdad‘s family are going on a cruise together! Here‘s my stack - I‘ve got 5 books lined up. In paper: Becoming and The Juniper Tree. On kindle: The Library Book, Unsheltered, and The Happiness Project (a reread, but I‘m doing my own this year so want the refresher for inspiration). Now where to start?

Ok, book people! I‘m planning a trip to Virginia in October and need some suggestions for places to visit, things to do. And if they are bookish in nature, that would be even better! For me anyway...my 8 year old would probably roll his eyes but it‘s OUR vacation, not just his! We‘ll be staying near Richmond but I‘m not set on staying there the entire week. Thoughts? Ideas? Recommendations?

✨I'm sorry I've been kind of MIA lately. I've been taking a break from social media and even been in kind of a reading slump. I do wanna say thank you to everyone who has continued to ask how my sister is. Right now, she's fine! More tests to do to figure out what's wrong. Still no real answers.
✨I also wanted to let my postal book club group know that I'll be going on vacation for a week out of state. I'll read and send off the book afterwards.💜

Prepping and packing for our vacation - we leave next Saturday- and trying to decide what book(s) to take. And cracking myself up because:
1) I will have my kindle.
2) I will be buying books on the trip because I will be visiting @wildfigbooks
3) I‘m trying to decide between a fluffy paperback and a book that will let others know I am a Serious Reader. Like anyone cares!
4) I am ridiculous. Who else does this?!

swishandflick Have fun! My tip for Rome: if you're going to visit the Colosseum, visit the Forum first. The line isn't usually as long and a lot of people don't realize the same ticket gets you into both. You can just head on over to the Colosseum after and not have to wait in the big line bc you already have your ticket 👌🏽 6y

RJHowe In London nothing is more fun than high tea at the Goring hotel. They use many of the late Queen Mothers private recipes. I also love the V and A Museum. Enjoy every minute. 6y

tournevis Thanks for the tag @Sarah83. I lived in Paris over 20y ago, so specific tips about specific stores are not as easy. Except for stationary stores (big store=Gibert-Joseph, small store = L'écritoire). There are books stores in every neighbourhood, small tiny places, and of course there's Shakespeare and Co. 6y

tournevis Museums: Musée d'Orsay I find is more interesting than the Louvre, because it has more art and less ancient stuff that was stolen from colonized peoples. Try the small, strange museums you can find. There's a museum of Counterfitting that we loved! 6y

tournevis One thing I suggest, and it counts for Rome too: try not to dress like a tourist. I mean by that dress business casual. You will be less of a target for hecklers, pickpockets and peddlers. They are a problem is the metro and in high tourist areas, such as Montmartre, Notre-Dame and the metros. 6y

mrsmarch Just got back from Reykjavik, London and Paris in April. Loved London and the Oyster card for getting around, and eating at Pret a Manger. And the British Museum. And the Tower Bridge Exhibition. And the Globe Theatre! Saw and loved Notre-Dame in Paris, saw the Mona Lisa just to say I had (but won‘t do it again). When in Rome get gelato at Gelateria Della Palma near the Pantheon and def watch your pockets near the Flavian Amphitheater 👇🏻 6y

mrsmarch 👉🏻 the Spanish Steps and the Piazza Navona. Buy art and postcards! Drink wine! Have fun! 6y

eraderneely In London, the Wellcome Collection is actually a medical museum, but it has a really great reading room if you need somewhere to sit for free and just read your book. It‘s not far from St Pancras if you‘re headed to Paris by train. Have a great trip! 6y

britt_brooke I agree with @tournevis - while the Louvre is amazing, we liked Musée d‘Orsay more. Also loved the Rodin and Picasso museums. (edited) 6y

britt_brooke If you have time, take the stairs to the top of Notre Dame and tour the Vatican catacombs. The Capuchin Crypt in Rome is really interesting (as long as friars‘ skeletons don‘t freak you out). 6y

mabell Have an amazing time! I loved the British Museum 😍. In Paris there was a really convenient double decker tour bus (red bus?) that you could get on and off, which made seeing many sites & sights very easy (but this was many years ago) 6y

CarolynM The British Museum is an absolute must, it's mind boggling, and the British Library has great displays for us bibliotragics. I love just walking the streets of London. There are some great short walking tours you can do - I've done a couple with London Walks which I thoroughly enjoyed. Hatchard's on Piccadilly is my favourite bookshop. I envy you. Enjoy!! 6y

Deborah42 I agree that the Mona Lisa is super underwhelming. Don‘t miss the Rodin Museum and be sure to sample all the bread in Paris. In London, check out Shakespeare in the Park. In Rome, eat gelato and soak in the feeling of walking through a living history book. Enjoy! 6y
