This was phenomenal. I enjoyed book 1, but like all epic fantasy book 1‘s, it was heavy on world building and introduction of characters, so it took a long time to get to the action. This is 1300 pages of action and amazing characters. This is a beautiful high fantasy world and this book is added to my favorite reads of all time. I am a full on Sanderson fan now! 5⭐️
#Chunksterchallenge - 1310 pages!
#NSR22 - epic fantasy

I've been having a hard time adulting and instead living on Fraser's Ridge for the last couple of weeks. How do you keep from jumping right into the next book? Can you tell I've been living in that chair? Time to be in the present... for as long as I can stand it. #chunksterchallenge

I‘m about 100 pages from the end of the tagged book so I‘ve got some hot chocolate and time to read tonight. One of my #awesomeapril #readathon goals is to finish this one this weekend. So I‘m trying hard to make it. #chunksterchallenge #readingafrica2022 #Gambia

Tamra I recall seeing bits of the film as a child - it was quite the miniseries event at the time. (edited) 1mo
Texreader @Tamra Same here! As I‘ve been reading it I recall snippets. I was pretty young, maybe 8 or 10 but some things were unforgettable 1mo
Amiable Loved this book when I first read it. May be time for a reread. 1mo
Andrew65 A good book choice! 1mo

I'm this far into my April #chunksterchallenge
I didn't read at all last week, I couldn't go through the scene Claire endures with Hodge and his gang. I was just too exhausted from running a book fair and a book drive while teaching. But now I'm on my #springbreak and I can sit outside if the wind doesn't blow. In the next few days I'll catch up with some picture books (the library would like them back, they've written twice).

I had a complete letdown of a reading month in March, but I plan to use April to claw my way back on track with the #PemberLittens, with my monthly #PersephonePick, and with the #ChunksterChallenge. I'm also REALLY looking forward to the May reads with the #PemberLittens- Lady Susan, here we come!

I finally finished this year‘s #chunksterchallenge! And at times it was a slog, but I‘m glad I stuck with it. I didn‘t find it as funny as many do, but I‘m not a 3 Stooges fan, and there was a lot of that vibe. Best bits were Sancho Panza‘s proverbs and Cervantes‘ digs at other authors. @Amiable

Amiable Yay! Awesome! What was the page count on this one? There are so many editions in Goodreads! 1mo
Lcsmcat @Amiable I read the Grossman translation on Kindle (so page count is , shall we say, flexible?), but Amazon says it‘s 976 pages. 1mo
batsy Woohoo! I too felt a sense of accomplishment when I finished this 😁 1mo
