pickA soft pick. This was pretty repetitive on several counts, but there was lots of Christmas-y vibes, and the MMC is an NHL player, so yeah. Didn‘t hate that! I also rooted for the FMC, who has a complicated relationship with her mother, and was just trying to follow her passion.

pickI held out as long as I could and went ahead and finished this today while I was doing the last of the holiday errands and wrapping. Loved it! I would really like to see an adaptation! This is loosely based on A Christmas Carol, one of my all-time faves, so I had a feeling I would like it.

pickFun read! A different kind of holiday novel but it really worked. I enjoyed the world that the author built, with each holiday having a royal family. Coal, the prince of Christmas is basically a screw up, and he is pitted against Hex, the Halloween prince, in a fake competition for the hand of the princess of Easter. When Coal finds out the reason for the ruse, he sets out to fix it, and falls for Hex in the process.

Happy December 1st! I‘m ready for a month full of festive reading! 🎄
so-soOkay, the positives were the rural autumn Scottish setting and the LGBTQ+ representation…very awesome! The negatives are that I really didn‘t get invested in the characters and the spice was not very spicy. It just seemed like a lot of potential was missed. So, I didn‘t love it, but I didn‘t hate it either.

pickThis was really cute and the descriptions of all the grilled cheese sandwiches definitely gave me a craving! And I didn‘t see the twist coming at all. There were lots of characters to keep up with and I struggled with that a bit, but this was enjoyable.
