I love Shakespeare's works. I was listening to/re-reading (I like to read the book while listening to the audiobook for anything I read for university) this play because I am going to refer to it in my exam in two days. And of course I love this play just like anything Shakespeare wrote 😂

1. A lot of books? I have to juggle because if I don't I won't read anything other than my assigned reading for university. So I'm currently reading 6/7 books? Sometimes I can't keep track of what I'm reading, but that's how I work
2. Hopeless by Colleen Hoover
3. Will I ever be good enough by Karyl McBride and also an Arabic book called علاقات خطرة (It means in English "dangerous relationships") by Mohamed Taha

#weekendreads @rachelsbrittain

BookishMarginalia I juggle many books at once and sometimes (often?) lose track of some... that‘s how I roll too! 4y
Seeking_Serenity @BookishMarginalia I don't know why I do that, but I can't change it 😂 4y

Must read (TL) for high school level great for DR. So many other writers have their own version of this particular story line. Tragic and dramatic it is excellent for any library...for an older audience. UDL, Provide multiple means of representation, provide options for comprehension. EL, teach questioning for clarification. techniques#LAE3414sp19

DrSpalding Go back and use the rubric. Be sure to add EL/UDL and a teaching resource to each post! 6y

I think it‘s all the energy I have left today...just enough to post this, however unoriginal (could it be any more unoriginal—robbing from poor old Shakespeare, alas?) it may be. Voting day, after all...I‘m spent.

Two weeks late, but I've made it to Act 2 for the #ShakespeareReadalong. 🙄

Lcsmcat You‘re not 2 weeks late. This weekend is Act II. 6y
Sace @Lcsmcat I thought we start Act III today. It took me until today to even get to II 🤣 6y
GingerAntics We don‘t discuss Act III until next weekend, though. 6y

Sace @GingerAntics ah. OK. But I still haven't read act two so... More lurking this weekend 😂 6y
GingerAntics Audio play? lol You can get through the whole thing in about 2 hours. lol 6y
Sace @GingerAntics I'm actually almost done. I'm just having attention issues as usual. 😒 6y
GingerAntics That‘s easy to have with Shakespeare sometimes. 6y
Sace @GingerAntics not gonna lie, I think this no fear edition might be adding to it! 6y
GingerAntics I‘ve never tried that edition. 6y
Sace @GingerAntics it's way to tempting for me to be lazy and just check the "translation" and it breaks my reading rhythm. (Makes sense in my head.) 6y
GingerAntics I used to do that with parallel editions. I realised I was missing all the language and quotes. I seem to do so much better since I started reading regular editions. 6y
Sace @GingerAntics exactly. Unfortunately the only other edition of Macbeth that I have is not portable or easy to read in bed. 😕 6y
GingerAntics Do you have reading apps on your phone? Kindle, nook, Apple Books/iBooks (I don‘t know what phone you have). You can download free copies of any Shakespeare play on all of those. It‘s no ideal, but it could help. They generally don‘t have footnotes if that‘s important to you, but it‘s something. It might work if you don‘t mind reading on your screen. 6y
Sace @GingerAntics I do have a kindle. I might try that for the next read along. 6y
GingerAntics If you‘re cool spending a few bucks you can get some nice, fancy, hyperlink footnotes that are always fun. lol 6y

Today I went to the FOTL Clearance sale and picked up this little gem. I usually restrict my hunt for old copies of ‘Hamlet‘ but this caught my eye: An 1897 edition with very light and very few pencil markings and a discreet library stamp. The front bottom edge of the cover shows some damage from long term storage on a shelf, but the pages show very little discoloration. It‘s small, but I love the feel of it when I open up the pages 🙂

#bookhaul

rustoryhuf I love older copies of anything by The Bard. 7y

"Double, double toil and trouble;
Fire burn and cauldron bubble.
Cool it with a baboon's blood,
Then the charm is firm and good."

#MacBeth is probably one of my favourite Shakespeare plays. It's so weird and twisty! Also the witches have the best lines.

So my work collects and distributes things for teachers in our area. JoAnn's donates a lot of holiday stuff...including witch mice. I saw the three sitting there on the shelf and I just knew. I present to you...MICEBETH!

As I predicted, reading in serial format didn't survive the weekend ... I upgraded my #serialreader app and binged on the rest of The Importance of Being Earnest. Now I'm about to start Macbeth, which I've been meaning to read for literal decades. 💀 Cheers to this app for giving me the nudge I needed!

"And oftentimes, to win us to our harm, the instruments of darkness tell us truths, win us with honest trifles, to betray's in deepest consequence" // I just read Macbeth in 2 days and in 2 sittings for my humanities class. I've always adored Shakespeare and amidst the old-speak and blank verse rhymes is found quite the story of a fallen man whom we can learn a great deal from! #Shakespeare #Macbeth

I bought the Serial App and it's going be to be a great way to read all the Shakespeare I want! First up, Macbeth. And I have to say, Lady Macbeth is the female equivalent of Patrick Bateman.

cewilf My favorite Shakespeare play! I highly recommend both the 2015 and 1979 adaptations (Michael Fassbender, Ian McKellen). 8y
Classic_Wirginia @cewilf I just finished it and k really want to see it acted out on a screen. I know my inner reading voice isn't as powerful as an actors. Thanks for the recommendation! 8y
