So unfortunately I ended up in the hospital this weekend with a bowel obstruction. We‘re hoping to resolve it medically. Between this and the allergic reaction, it hasn‘t been a great week for me medically. ☹️☹️

Megabooks Fortunately my obstruction was resolved medically, so I didn‘t have surgery! ?Unfortunately, my iv was in a spot that made it hard to use my phone, so I wasn‘t on social media much. (My iv would stop flowing every time I tried to check in!!) So I watched 90 Day Fiancé when I didn‘t feel well enough to read, but I was also able to finish 2.5 books! (So now I‘m 5 reviews behind. ??‍♀️) I‘m glad to be home and back with Molly! (edited) 1y

Megabooks @Addison_Reads I had the NG tube in for 24 hours. It helped, but it made me really stuffy and my eyes watered to a degree that I still have a rash on my face. Plus it is just massively uncomfortable! But it‘s over and I‘m better, so that‘s what counts! 💜💜 1y

“Christine had stroke-like symptoms Monday and was brought to the hospital via ambulance. Fortunately, I was at home when it happened
She's ok
Had to stay the night, get a myriad of test through the night and today
Couldn't get an MRI due to claustrophobic anxiety
However, all other tests indicate no damage and the information suggests a TIA
They are treated as such”

I am home now.I do feel ok. I‘ll be on couch.

batsy I hope you are doing OK 💜 Rest well at home. Is it possible for them to give you a light sedative before the MRI? My mum has had to do a record number of brain MRIs the last couple years so I have an idea how tough it can be 😟 1y

TheBookHippie @batsy I‘m allergic to anything they could give, unfortunately I am allergic to most medication. benzodiazepines are what they‘d want to give and I cannot have them 😝 they can‘t put me under unless it‘s to save my life due to my reaction to that so it was do it or 🤷🏻‍♀️ I tried 3 times they were worried I was making things worse at that point. 1y

mcctrish I didn‘t even know there were drugs 🤣🤦🏻‍♀️ I almost managed it and then started to have a panic attack. It was bizarre and an out of body-ish feeling experience. I‘d had a CT scan and was fine. I should have paid more attention to my mom when she was complaining about them 1y

TheBookHippie @mcctrish I had 3 CT scans those are easier and shorter!!! I had same reaction you did! 1y

mcctrish All of mine were pre-pandemic and shit show government crap, since anxiety seems to just be my new normal I‘m going to have hope I don‘t need another ( condition that necessitated the first was a misdiagnosis ) 1y

TheBookHippie @mcctrish well it‘s a hoot now, also I only needed it to say 100 percent what happened THEN they says it wouldn‘t matter treatment is the same …um what?! I see my doctor tomorrow … I am 99 percent sure I had a complex migraine attack and then full blown anxiety. 1y

TheBookHippie @Catsandbooks Thanks!!I Am off to doctor in the morning to see what is next. I am fairly sure that I had a complex migraine attack that acts exactly like a TIA in presentation. However they have to treat me as such just in case. 1y

I had a frightening night at the hospital with my little one last night. He‘s feeling much better now. But as always I am so grateful to the wonderful NHS staff who are there, exhausted but skillful and kind, to care for us. Also thank goodness for antibiotics! Sometimes they are magic! I have a raging temp today so also feeling so grateful my husband has a rare week off (not sure he‘s seeing it quite the same). Going to try to do some reading 👍

Hi Littens !
My surgery was a success and they removed the lump. I'm in quite a bit of pain and just taking it easy at the moment. Binge watching shows and reading today, helping me feel a lot better !

obviateit Love that skyline! Do you guys have a support system here? Injuries can be so hard if you don't have close friends or family nearby. I don't know you, but I'd be happy to bring a freezer meal or something on Sunday! My big kid has a recital in university city, so I could bring something after.
