This book is set in Boston, so when it referenced places that I have been to, I thought it was really neat and made the book more enjoyable.

Such is human memory... you forget the truth and believe what makes you feel better.
Thank goodness for audio books. I'm struggling to sit still enough to read lately (as much as I want to). Audio books let me immerse myself into some of my favourite worlds while fulfilling the need to be constantly active.
3✨The last book of this series had me laughing like all Riordan books. It was really just a meh for me. Without getting into too much detail. Magnus must help his friends take down the villain of the story. It has an open ended conclusion to tie in the next series. Read for #roaringwolf History (There is a deaf character) it is also my #DoubleBookSpin for April @Littlewolf1 @TheAromaofBooks 🎧
4✨ I love the humor throughout these books. This series starts with Magnus telling of the events leading up to his death. Which, is really when the story starts. In true Riordan fashion there is lots of adventure, challenges, and a quest that our hero‘s journey through to save life as we know it. This fits under “Cough,Cough,Wheeze” for #roaringwolf @Littlewolf1 (Just for funzies)
Loved this book! Very sassy and hilarious. Definitely love these characters!!! A good way to break my slump. Highly recommend this series!!!
As I said previously, I had a hard time finishing books in 2020. I decided to read this YA book since it was low-commitment in my mind. I did read it through, and enjoyed it.
Read in 2020.

“You missed a pedestrian, wanna go back and hit her?” -Magnus Chase
So I've been in an anti-reading mood for quite some time. However I picked this up yesterday and it is actually holding my interest. Which is good. I've missed reading. Just haven't been able to bring myself to do it for a few months. Hopefully this will spark that love again. Here's to trying.
#Top20Series has encouraged me to read another series by Rick Riordan, loved his Percy Jackson series. So just starting the first book in the Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard Trilogy.
I really enjoyed this book when I read it a while back. It's very fun. I just recently had the pleasure of reading Riordan's acceptance speech for the Stonewall award this book won. Inspiring. Made me cry a little, not gonna lie.

This book... it's like Norse mythology on crack. It is crazy, full of modernized legends and twisted beliefs and messed up gods. The hero of the story is being pushed from one weird situation into another without any particular connection or sense to complete tasks that will help him save the world. The cover is stunning though!
I love how effortlessly Rick Riordan weaves together these mythological worlds and legends into modern day. Such a fun read!
APRIL HAUL
I am a bit crazy, I already have around 50 bookd on my TBR but keep buying new ones anyway!
Forgot to update this but I finished this book yesterday. I enjoyed it more than the previous series (Kane Chronicles.) Started The Hammer of Thor last night.

How did you choose this book: It looked cool and the cover really spoke to me.
Well I can't host my own challenge without using #theshow's name, can I?! These two #chase-related books are on my wishlist! #SeptemberSins @Cinfhen @squirrelbrain
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Going back to my mythology nerd roots with this one! I had a lot of fun with this, and I‘m excited to see where the trilogy goes next!
Gotta admit. I'm pretty sketchy with my Norse mythology.
But I loved this book, certainly a fresh take on being a demigod.
A good addition to Rick Riordan's mythologically based stories :)
I‘m already loving reading this one! And look at that gorgeous logo!
Today's #24b4monday results! Not doing so hit, and it just wasn't a Pride and Prejudice day...
Friday's #24b4monday results. Hoping to double this today. Maybe if Team Go Rocket wasnt invading Pokemon Go, I could read more 👀
I wanted something that light and easy, and this was the perfect book. A fun read—I probably won‘t finish the series, but I enjoyed reading this one!
#bookishbingo: Muslim protagonist
Here I am once again reading Rick Riordans book completely out of order. I thought “hey this about Norse gods it won‘t connect to PJO”.. it connects lol. But not by a lot, at least for the first book. I actually enjoyed this so much, Norse God‘s are my fav and I enjoyed these versions of them. Also I was glad the parentage of Magnus wasn‘t predictable, the banter the characters had was actually funny. Only down side was Sam she annoyed me so bad.
Magnus Chase!!!!! (*THREE* Magnus Chase!!) A tote! A @BookBabe bookmark!!!! 😱😱😱 A kitten fort! 😂🤦🏻♀️😜
I think these are from the AMAZING @RestlessFickleBookHoarder and they‘re perfect! I desperately wanted these books and I‘ve wanted this specific bookmark for months! Fantastic swap, sent all the way to Singapore!
Many many thanks Sara and to @MeganAnn for organising (and including us international folks!!). #mythsandlegendsswap ♥️😊
I enjoyed this one more than I thought I did while reading it. Had to rush through it to be done in time for book club, but there‘s a lot of great humor, mythology, and characters within. Also, so many Kurt Cobain references. 🤷🏻♀️
I am currently in a terrible reading slump. 😭
I hope some good ol‘ Riordan will help me out of it.
( I‘ve had this book on my shelf since 2015 and still haven‘t read it 😅)
?"My name is Magnus Chase. I'm sixteen years old. This is the story of how my life went downhill after I got myself killed."?
Magnus Chase is probably my second favourite character out of all of the characters in Rick Riordan's mythology books.

“To Cassandra Clare, Thanks for letting me share the excellent name Magnus”.
My worlds are colliding! Starting this one next for my Tween Book Club: Book Worms!
My Tween Book Club (Book Worms) just picked this as their February read!
Generally pretty good. I really loved the diversity of the characters. I also really enjoyed how the characters were able to turn a weakness into an advantage and how the mythology was woven throughout the story. However, I did find Magnus‘s tone to get a little irritating at times.
Now that finals are over, I have lots of time to read! Also, when the weather got cold in October, I brought my potted bell pepper plants inside. One of them has rewarded me by growing a pepper!
#NOSPOILERS I got pretty far into the book, but didn't finish it. I liked the humor and all, but to me, something felt missing and/or confusing. Yes, yes, the main point I stopped was that I had trouble understanding and interpreting the plot and what was going on. Also, part of it was, my therapist spoiled the second book for me. If I could read this head on, no break, no nothin', I would. I feel guilt for leaving a book I wanted to read. 7.5/10
About to begin a new adventure. Don't disappoint me now, Magnus!
Any one else notice that many or Riordian books have a lot of water on the cover. I hope his characters like #swimming.
#readingresolutions @Jess7
The book was awesome... Rick Riordan has a unique skill to blend in humour with a serious end of the world storyline. 🐺🐺🐺
I am starting 'the hammer of thor' today...
It‘s been so long since I‘ve read anything by Rick Riordan. I‘ve only just started The Sword of Summer but I‘m already wondering why I didn‘t read it earlier! I missed Riordan‘s humor so much 😆😆😆
No #riotgram today (because I don‘t have anything for the category), but my Bookcase Box arrived... I think I‘m going to cancel because I‘ve tried all of their boxes, and I‘m just not feeling any of the titles I‘ve gotten recently. These are from the YA box... thoughts anyone?
I was wary picking up another #riordan book because I tried to read the #percyjackson series, and it was just a little bit too kiddish for me. I was pleasantly surprised. The #diversity in this book is absolutely impressive. From disabilities to religion, almost every character has something that makes them unique, and towards the end of the book, it‘s shown how those traits that in society might have been treated as a weakness becomes a strength.
