This is the first audible I enjoyed more than the physical reading.
Deeply disturbing. I remembered the majority of the storyline from reading however hearing it made it more visceral.

This story was bonkers in the best possible way! Talk about dysfunctional mother-daughter relationships. I thought it was really interesting seeing how each of these women dealt with the various types of abuse and mental illness going on and, while it wasn‘t hard to figure out what was actually happening, it was thrilling watching it unfold. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
It was a gorgeous day to finish off what my partner, Stew called ‘The perfect w/e‘. I went to ballet class for the first time in 5 mths on Sat thanks to Covid. The kids had a sleepover so we had a night to ourselves! Stew cooked special fried rice for dinner & I had a long bath, we both😭watching The Railway Man. Today we watched the eldest play soccer then tended the garden. I planted some spring vegies. I made pies for lunch then we watched GA.
Gillian Flynn inter-weaves everyday details with horrific turns in another fast-paced read.
I went and got this book after watching the first episode of the HBO series. A very dark and unsettling read about murder in a small town. This was a hard to put down book. Kept me wondering until the end. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
i‘ve actually managed to avoid the hbo series because i wanted to read the book first and was pretty excited to find this thrifting. my autumn/winter book list keeps getting longer, help, i need help😭
Read this from the local Little Library, 1st book in the #SummersEndReadathon I am not much into psychological thrillers but this pulled me in. Despite guessing the ending I still enjoyed it. Camille Preaker, a reporter, returns to her home town, Wind Gap, MO to write about the murders of 2 girls. It explores themes of motherhood, family, adolescence, & ideas of beauty. The book is slightly disturbing or maybe that‘s how this genre is.

Amazing book. I've read it in a couple of days... I couldn't let it down until I finished it. Complex characters and a great story.
Watched the tv series and was left with so many unanswered questions, so borrowed this from the library. Just finished reading it. As dark & filled with foreboding as the tv series which I felt did the novel justice, such that it even elevated some parts of the book and aspects of the character into a more evolved, fleshed out manner - providing more spaces for cutting forbidden words. Will review this for our Sisterhood theme. #WomenReadWomen2019
7/10 Overall a decent read. First half of the book borders on banal, last half much more interesting and is hard to put down.
It took me a bit longer than it should have (too many library books with due dates, #NetGalley books with publishing deadlines), but I just finished this. Wow. I started to suspect (as the reader should), but I was still surprised & compelled by some of the bizarre scenes and choices some of the characters made. A bit graphic at times, but I give this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️➕ stars. I don‘t have HBO so I won‘t be seeing the series but I wonder how they compare.
5/5 Stars - I read this book a few years ago and LOVED it. There are a few things that I realize now (having read a bunch of thrillers) that required the reader to make assumptions and the ending wrapped up extremely quickly, but this is still one of my favorites! The characters are dark and twisty and it‘s such a compelling, quick read. I highly recommend both the book and the #hbo series. The finale aired tonight. Did you watch it? #jpbookreview
Slowly making progress while reading other books; on page 82 (of 254), still getting to know the characters and getting a few for the book. It‘s a little slow moving but that‘s okay - I‘m reading a chapter at a time, and I‘m not bored with the story, although some of the characters/behaviors seem over the top. I‘m looking forward to seeing where this goes.
#pugsoflitsy Bleecker's out. Now it's mommy time
#bookandwinepairing📚🍷 A beautiful 2017 Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough New Zealand called Ponga. OMG is it delicious! I don't even really like Sauvignon Blanc but I like this one. CHEERS
Just started reading this and also just started watching the tv series. Not sure it‘s a good idea and I will probably finish the book before the tv series.
Anyone else watching the series? I‘m jumping in tonight!
Currently reading this book. I'm 1/3 into it and really enjoying it so far. What did everyone else think of it?
This is a dark and creepy tale which I read after Gone Girl and now I see a HBO TV series is in the works. There‘s also a Steve McQueen film, Widows, an Amazon TV show, which Flynn is also working on and, of course, another dark, political psychological thriller with 4 main characters which she started after President Trump got elected but she isn‘t saying anything more about that book. Full interview is on Goodreads.
