Busy day today, but first my tradition of reading this graphic novel that takes place on the Equinox. 🍁🍁🍁
Up next on this Tropical Storm Ophelia Readathon I seem to have going on here is this graphic novel set on the Autumn Equinox.
Stayed in bed this morning and read this cozy graphic novel that takes place on the Fall Equinox. Now I‘m ready for all things autumn! #SuperSeptember book 4/6
What a fun, whimsical story! It feels like what would happen if you took Stan and Ford Pines (as kids) from Gravity Falls and tossed them into Over the Garden Wall. The friendship dynamics were fun to watch play out, and the lantern quest was enjoyable. I felt really unsettled after their decision at the end… #KidsOnBikes #Comics #Whimsical
Had a tough start to the new year, but I finally finished my first book for #NewYearWhoDis #NYWD22 And I loved it! My daughter had this one, so that‘s why I chose it first. I loved the artwork and the story. The characters had me feeling all kinds of emotions (my favorite is the Fisher-bear). It had that touch of magic I always love in stories. @monalyisha @IndoorDame
I absolutely adored this graphic novel! It was adventurous and whimsical and gorgeous 😍 I could do with more stories of Ben and Nathaniel. Even Oakley approves 😸
This was my last #LMPBC book from last round. I'm sorry it took me so long to get to! @WanderingBookaneer what a great pick! I'll be sending it back to you this weekend 🙂

This was a cute graphic novel. But I have to wonder who who or what had the better night the ones who went back or the ones who went forward.
All the stars!
At 350 pages this is a proper novel length graphic novel. It all takes place at night and the color scheme captures the lighting and sets the mood perfectly, pulling you effortlessly into the story. The story itself follows a sort of dream logic that blends adventure, fantasy and mythology with a contemporary tale about friendship.
Heading to the post office today to mail out #LMPBC books for #GroupP and #GroupG
I was hoping to have my #HauntedHollowSwap and #BasicWitchSwap ready to mail as well so I would only have to make one post office run for October — but I am still waiting on some items for #HHS.
#BasicWitchSwap is assembled though! I can‘t wait any longer on #LMPBC so off I go. At least I can keep post office visits down to just two.

I only ran into the library to pick up my holds, along with the tagged book based on all the praise from @LibrarianRyan and @WanderingBookaneer ; but I ended up with 4 more and some DVDs. This does not include what I already have at home. #librarylove

This book was as close to perfect as a book can get. The story is full of adventure, of hope, of love, of everything that will lead to a smile on everyone's face. What I like most about this story is that it may have been written for middle grade, but the story is timeless. It could be read to the youngest of children and still enjoyed by adults. The illustrations are amazing and just make this graphic novel that much better.
Over spring break I've caught up on my reading. This graphic novel was really the kickstart I needed.
"Really, could you imagine? How splendid it would be... to swim among the stars?"
Yes, Fisherbear, yes I could. ✨
My review of this book can be found on my Youtube Vlog at:

Enjoy!
Excellent graphic novel kids book about a light fantasy/folktale adventure these “friends” take to find out where the lanterns from their annual Equinox Festival travel to once they are released. Great illustrations and I adored Nathaniel.

This cute graphic novel was an easy read. It was a fun adventure of two unexpected boys following lanterns. I loved how they discovered and showed off the stars and constellations. Not sure I would recommend this to a 2nd graders, maybe 4th or 5th.
I won't be at a beach in the near future, so here is one from when I was in Costa Rica a few years ago. And it is even a selfie :) That doesn't happen very often.

Tagged book is my current read, and will fulfill “readvisually“ when I am done.
This middle grade graphic novel was so much fun! A group of kids start out on an epic journey to see if the lanterns set afloat in the river really do turn into stars.
Most turn back.
With Hilda vibes, this fantasy adventure was pure fun.

This was a very quirky graphic novel, but it worked. My 8 year old has been itching to get his hands on it, so I will be curious to see what he thinks!
• Glad I gave this one a chance; it was a cute adventure story with beautiful illustrations. I'll have to check out the author's backlist next time I'm craving graphic novels. 4 / 5 ⭐️ •

A graphic novel about boys on an adventure. They meet magical beings, learn about friendship, and follow some lanterns. Blue and moody.
Every year at the annual Autumn Equinox Festival, the townspeople send lanterns down the river. One year four friends, & a fifth who is just a little too different to truly belong until he does (bullying/acceptance are themes) make a pact—“No one turns for home. No one looks back”—& vow to find out where the lanterns go. What follows is a thrilling adventure filled with friendship, imagination, & the impossible. Delightful MG graphic novel.
Did someone say space archaeology?!? Love. It. Oddly enough, this is the second time space archaeology has come up today!
(We won‘t speak about the throwing books away part...🤣)
So far I‘m really enjoying this story...
Another new book in the library...another graphic novel on NPR‘s Best of the Year List...another book to preview.
Ever since I started working in the children's section of a bookstore I've felt obliged to delve into certain genres that I had never read for my own entertainment but have surprisingly been enjoying a lot! Like middle-grade graphic novels.
Have any of you ever starting reading completely different genres than your norm for work-related reasons??
This graphic novel sits at that stage where you realize you have the agency to be mean, to exclude who you want to, and the ability to separate groups out. It hurts, and this book captures that struggle so well. Fantastic, in all definitions of the word.
This was a cute middle grade take on friendship and the struggles of not wanting to be the odd one out. It had a great underlying message with a some very interesting characters. 🌟🌟🌟🌟
