Welcome to Litsy!

This has probably been my favorite of the series so far. By now we the readers always know that Eugenides has always got a plan in motion but through the introduction of a new main character POV we get to see what it looks like to be used in one of those schemes without being aware of it. The main heft of the novel is watching Gen struggle with the fact that he has to actually be king but the best bits for me were seeing him and Irene together.

Really enjoyed being back in this world with Eugenides. He's such a fascinating character: petulant like a child with humor and hidden depths and strengths. I just adore him. This book was fun and moved so quickly. Each book in this series just keeps getting better.

Started listening to this book today. I just love Eugenides and am glad to be back in this world again. I adore the way Steve West narrates these books too.

Just wanted to let you know, I'm still here. Making my way through The Queen's Thief series.

Started for Gen, started for Gen. The rest was unfortunately quite boring.

I just think a Game of Thrones-esque tv series of these books would rock my world.

Soooooo I lied.
I didn‘t intend to read this one so soon but I just gobbled it up!
Goodness gracious this was such fun! The first half, in Turner habit, was angsty and a bit dark.
But the second half was soooo fun!
I awwwd and laughed. I loved this one. ⭐️⭐️⭐️🌟🌟

holy hell I loved this book SO much more than The Thief and the Queen of Attolia. Eugenides and the Queen are such damn sneaky trolls this WHOLE book and it makes it so much more fun that you know the whole time that side characters are blind to essentially a giant royal gag. Speaking of side characters, I freaking LOVE Costis. He's used so well. This book did a lot of political and character development in a really short amount of pages.

If you haven't read this brilliant YA fantasy series, you really should start on it ASAP. No one writes like MWT does. I will forever be in awe of how beautifully she pulls off plot twists and turns, and also how she delivers clever dialogue. Reading order: The Thief, The Queen of Attolia, The King of Attolia, A Conspiracy of Kings, Thick as Thieves.

So I've been so wrapped up in this book and the next book in the series, A Conspiracy of Kings, I've pretty much put my life on hold. This has to be one of the best fantasy series I've ever read! I'm am totally in love with this world and its royalty and gods. Eugenides is so fabulous! Netflix get to work this would be a super series.

I'm sorry because I didn't take a pic of this book, but this is the only thing for wich I am sorry. This book (all the series, really) is fantastic, beautiful, amazing and a ton of other good things! You have to love Gen, he is fantastic and he is pure genius and he's fun and loveable and... ok, you got it, don't you?

My progress are slow but I am pleased!

This series keeps getting better and better. And I don't know how. The plot of this book? "The king gains the respect of the court" that's it. The whole thing. But somehow Turner manages to make it impossible to put down. I still can't get over it.

I honestly think the MC in this series is one of my favorite characters ever.

Maybe if I read long enough my occipital neuralgia flare up will magically disappear. (Things I tell myself over and over again although they never actually happen) maybe this time though 🤞🏼

Years ago I first read this series --in translated version -- and fell in love. It never occurred to me that upon rereading, I could fell even deeper. ❤️

Megan Whalen Turner was autographing at #bookexpo yesterday, and she very graciously signed all my Queen's Thief books!

I already know how things will end because this is a reread and yet, I still stayed up late to finish this book! SO GOOD 💖💖💖 Love all the characters in this one and how they continue to grow and develop as the story progresses. Also, it still has one of the best romances that I've ever come across. Subtle but packs a punch. And the one liners that were so on point made me smile and laugh along the way.

I started rereading The King of Attolia but wasn't able to read on the flight. After packing, went to bed at 2:30am and got up at 5:30am to travel to the airport in Manila. Hoping to be able to read more of this in the coming days. Thick as Thieves, I'm coming for you!

For #royalty I could choose no other than Eugenides and Irene. I love them as individuals and I love them as the very unlikely and complex romantic couple that they are. Watching their slow unfolding was my favorite aspect of this series.

It's always interesting to see everyone's month-end stats on Litsy. I look at totals on posts that say "oh, it was a low reading month for me," and they're higher than my high reading month! Ah, well. I had a great month--so many good books here. Two for #LitsyAtoZ (K & T), but I need to step up my #TBR game (I need a library ban!) I'm also making progress on some series. Finally finished that Robert Jordan--three Wheel of Time books to go!

I started book three today, and I'm so excited! I love this series so much... and I'm only halfway through. 😊

I took a pic of The Queen of Attolia for the #favoritecover prompt a few days ago, and I really should have posted a pic of this one too. Another great design from Vince Natale. I'm really sad the covers have been redesigned but I'm hoping that a collector's edition of the series will be released after all the books have been published.
