The 2nd in the Jackaby ya series, this story was fun to listen to on my commute this week. It takes Jackaby & Abigail to another town to solve a mystery involving dinosaur bones.

Another fun paranormal mystery with Jackaby and Abigail. This is book 2 in the series. I love the narrator and enjoyed the new adventure and the overall series adventure. An easy read/listen.
Some things were predictable, the elements line up like ‘loaded shotguns‘ but the characters and story are so fun that I don‘t even care!
Starting this today.

While I did love the first book more, this was a solid follow up book and continued on the charming and witty adventures of Jackaby and Abigail. I found I had figured out most of the story partway through. I am curious to see where the next two go though.
This was another quick, fun read. I‘m really enjoying this series.
This one was so exciting! One fanged vampires, dragons, animals that can change into different forms, plus Jackaby is hilarious. I want some more bonding between Abigail and Charlie.
This series is so underrated. Corky and fun. I live how blasee they are like "well of course there's dragons" or "well obviously they're shape shifting fish pretending to be cats."
Time for another good old reread. Apparently I'm bringing like all my historical fictions right now...
Yep this will be my day until I have to brave the cold, two more times, to pick up the kids from school.
My other favorite mystery series, the Jackaby books, are competing with everything else in my life for my time. I‘m reading these on kindle (they are very cheap) but would like to own the paper copies. I didn‘t enjoy this book quite as much as book 1, mainly because I was very frustrated at Abigail‘s desire to prove herself a paleontologist when surely its far more interesting to be a detective of the paranormal!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Trying to read but someone keeps saying pet me. #CatsOfLitsy
"Some girls work in shops or sell flowers. Some girls find husbands and play house. I assist a mad detective in investigating unexplained phenomena."

Ahhhh, I love a good DDC reference 😂😂😂
I love this series. It‘s a great, fun read when the world is full of anxiety and you just want to get lost for awhile. I think the second book was better than the first.

I love this Sherlockian paranormal YA series. Protagonist Abigail Rook, the narrator, is a compellingly feminist woman of the time. Great fun! Can‘t wait to read book 3.
Who else is reading this series?
I dare say I liked this one even better than the first. Laughable moments. Dinosaurs. Mystery. Fish cats. Definitely recommended for a quick, light read. Excellent to get you back into things if you‘re in a slump. I can‘t wait to read the next one!
Finished the second book of the Jackaby series, and it‘s still charming. I did feel it could have a little more Jackaby wit, but overall it was a quick fun read.
I didn't like this one quite as much as the first of the series but it was still am enjoyable read. It is fast paced and I like reading quick easy books in between bigger ones. I will definitely pick up the next book of the series soon after the slight cliffhanger Beastly Bones ended on. It seems that Jackaby and Abigail will be investigating what really happened to their ghost roommate Jenny.
"The greatest figures in history are never the ones who avoid failure, but those who march chin-up through countless failures, one after the next, until they come upon the occasional victory.”... “Failure is not the opposite of success—it‘s a part of it."

1. Something completely different from the real world and what ever is going on.
2. A mix of both.
3. I tried piano, guitar, and trombone as a kid but never got the hang of any of them.
4. Make You Feel My Love - Adele

Starting September out right with some reading. So far this one is as fun as the first of the Jackaby series. This one starts out with fish/kittens and vampires.
Joining in with #TwoInThree readathon challenge for this weekend. Thanks to @Samplergal for the fun challenge.
I'm starting with Beastly Bones (Jackaby #2) by William Ritter
Loving this series so far!
Just bought the next two from Book Outlet!
Only ten chapters left to read.

2 am. Book done. Been a while since I stayed up this late reading. Loved it just as much as the first. Time to find the third. :)
Couldn‘t resist jumping into the second one right away. Luckily, I didn‘t have to wait long for it to become available at the library!
Got off work early, so doing some #audiocleaning

I love the sheer quirkiness of this mystery series. I love the mystery and the humor. The narrator is fantastic! Now I just need the rest of the series in #audiobook format, but alas not on Hoopla, not on Libby.
A little #audioweeding today
Next up on #audio the second book in this quirky series.
Finished this while Lane napped and Nina enjoyed some tummy time (aka Nina fell asleep during tummy time and made zero effort to lift her head...)
I actually like this much better than the first book. I was a little ambivalent about continuing the series but I‘m very glad I did!
The library is being used for testing all afternoon, so I‘m a little limited in what I can get done today.... it‘s also about 20 degrees colder than the rest of the school. So I‘m hiding in the faculty room for a little while to warm up!
Yesterday was a stressful day at work, followed by a stressful evening at home. Came in to work this morning and immediately got bombarded with annoyances- students with computer problems, inconsiderate coworkers, a parent calling about a brand new book being destroyed by the rain...
Something light and fun was necessary for my lunch break...
“By request of my employer, the contents of chapter thirteen have not only been omitted; they have been pulled directly from my typewriter, shredded, and used as terrarium liner for a particularly pungent frog.” Aah, Jackaby! 😆
Loving this series by William Ritter! Jackaby, the first in the series, was good but this one was better in my opinion. If you like Sherlock Holmes & enjoy a touch of the magical, all stirred with a bit of humour, you‘ll love this too. Jackaby & Miss Rook are in the middle of a case involving kittenfish(u need to read it!) when they‘re called to a dig site in Gads Valley that involves fossilized bones & a murder. 5⭐️
Loving the Jackaby series by William Ritter! It‘s funny, witty & clever, with a touch of snark. #dontstareatthefrog
I started The Wicked Deep but I just wasn‘t in the mood for it, so I‘ve picked up this instead. It‘s kinda a half & half novel, half magical realism & half crime/mystery so hopefully it will appeal to both sides of my “readers brain” #itsarealthingjustaskanybibliophile
