I didn‘t enjoy the jams Don got himself into in this one so much. They weren‘t as witty as in The Rosie Project and to me, not as lighthearted. I‘m invested in Don and Rosie though and will read the final book in the series.
3/5 stars
Loved this one as much as the first Rosie book! Kind of like a screwball comedy film, Don is in great form. Now, life is much more complicated and our narrator Don continues to misinterpret social cues and idioms like crazy. More characters are introduced and there are many complex issues that Don has to navigate through. I love him and Rosie and root for them through the whole crazy tale. Parts made me laugh out loud and others touched me.
This is a light pick because as much as I loved the first one this one lost some of the magic. I felt like Don was doing his best and trying so hard but the angst was not his fault and he shouldn't have been put in that kind of position to doubt himself. It was still cute and funny at times and I loved the way the secondary characters broadened Don's world.

This book is full of humour! Don is so smart and yet can't see a reason to tell his wife often that he loves her. It's a great addition to the series! The character of Lydia works well for the story, but I hate her as a person so much! Well written!

I wasn‘t a super fan of The Rosie Project because I never really embraced the main characters. But in book 2, I found myself rooting for Don to keep his girl and for cultural differences of NYC not to be the end of them. Now I‘ look forward to book 3.

Currently reading: The Rosie Effect - Graeme Simsion.
I loved The Rosie Project and read it in two days so definitely wanted to read this! A bit of a slow start but it‘s finally getting there and I am really enjoying it! Rosie and Don have such a pure relationship and I love reading just how it develops! Especially when Don has a habit of getting himself into tricky situations. #therosieeffect #graemesimsion #currentlyreading
This was still a pick, but I didn‘t enjoy it as much as The Rosie Project. The first book was funny and charming and this one just didn‘t feel quite the same.
I did wonder if it due to it being on audio; I thought that the narrator gave a slightly snarky tone throughout. Don is no longer getting into amusing ‘scrapes‘ but instead causing some quite serious problems, and Rosie herself came across as a bit of a cowbag! 😬
I loved this book so much! The chemistry between Don and Rosie is palpable. Contains plenty of the antics that made The Rosie Project so lovable. Expecting a baby throws a lot of drama into the mix, but also adds a lot of humorous moments. This was a very good sequel and love to see characters both old and new.
Really enjoying this one so far! Love the dynamic between Don and Rosie! Getting some reading in during my lunch break. Now back to work.
Not as enjoyable as the first, The Rosie Project, this still was a quick playful book. Trials and tribulations with Rosie and Don. He‘s still estimating BMI, and still attempting to navigate marriage and pregnancy. #SummersEndReadathon. #8
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5
From what I gathered in reviews about this novel in the Don Tillman trilogy, it is the least likeable of the 3. Personally, I actually preferred it to the first one even though I was so frustrated with Rosie and some of her decisions. So happy with how it ended.
I‘ve been sick all week with a throat infection and today is the first time I can read without getting a headache or feeling too exhausted. I‘m still so tired and my cough won‘t ease, but I can read now.
Before reading this book for book club, I had heard a lot of people say it wasn‘t as good as the first one so I was a little anxious about it. However, I found that I really enjoyed it. The first was better, but I think that‘s just because Don (the lead character) was a fresh idea and now we are kind of used to his mannerisms. That means it‘s harder for the author to surprise the reader. I didn‘t enjoy Rosie as much in this book though...
My favorite way to read! A good physical book with a fake fire in the background for some ambient sound and coziness 😂😂

I‘m on the family farm for the first week of school holidays. I tried to go for a walk and listen to the tagged audiobook but my niece had other plans. We managed to walk around one paddock before she requested to go back to the homestead. While I attempted to stretch she did my hair (in other words spray detangler in my eyes!) Lucky she is cute. #BFC2 #smallsteppersalright
So, these were my #aprilreads As you can see I am a tad behind. 😳 Life is just busy ALL. THE. TIME. I can‘t lock down time to read.
Tagged book was my favourite, but Virgil Wander & In An Absent Dream were close seconds.
It was a fairly good month, but one of the slower months so far in 2019. Actually, May has been even slower. I‘ll post about that in July. 😂
Highly recommend. This is the 2nd story about Don and Rosie. Don is on the autism spectrum, but refuses to admit it. The story begins with Don being told by Rosie that they are pregnant. Don panics. The story goes on in frantic and hilarious form as Don realizes he cannot be a good father. The story twists and turns until the ending. I enjoyed this story.
5/5 🌟
I love this series!
You get attached to Don so easily. He's a wonderful character and I love following his journey.
The author understand Don's personality very well and it is very well written.
It's very light read but Don gets into many troubles, which makes it more interesting. It's not only about romance and it's a funny read also. 🙂
Didn‘t like this nearly as much as the first book. Still cute but It didn‘t feel realistic to me. I think that if Rosie knew Don as well as she did, she would have realized all of his good intentions and not gotten so upset with him. Also, while the comedy of errors is part of the charm of these books, this seemed a bit much.. and this audio narrator‘s “American” accent was... 😬.
That was a close one, but it ended well. I even managed not to cry. Excited for the next one to come out at the end of this month.

Reading book 2: The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion
I loved the first one so much! So entertaining
The God-children are toast in their beds, so it's just me and the puppers for a few hours. Perfect time to get back to this book
While my husband is busy packing to go away on his first bear hunt, I'm planning how to best utilize the extra reading time I'll get while he's gone. Seems like a win/win to me! Continuing on with The Rosie Effect as a start 😊
Lately audio is all I've managed, but really miss sitting down with a physical book. Going to see if this is the book to break my reading slump
I loved this, even more than I loved the first book. The #audiobook 🎧 are read by the author & Don‘s lines are read perfectly! I laughed, I almost cried, but mostly I became FURIOUS during this book!
I found myself getting angry at the way Don was treated throughout the book, not just by strangers or that HORRIBLE psychologist, Lydia, but by his friends & family!
(More in the comments. 👇🏻 I have a lot to say about this book!)
While I didn‘t like it as much as The Rosie Project, I did find it an enjoyable read. I found it to be a bit slow at times, but it still managed to hold my attention and my love for Don only grew! Looking forward to The Rosie Result.
I read The Rosie Project in April 2015 so I was a bit concerned starting this book that i wouldn't remember the plot or characters very well but I needn't have worried, within a few pages I was back hanging out with Rosie and Don.

Of course I just had to read the next in the series. Not as enjoyable as the first one, but still good.
📚 I like to mix it up but I do enjoy thrillers, dramas, romance & non-fiction. Anything that makes me laugh, like The Rosie Project!
😱 Not a phobia, but I don‘t like clowns. My stomach drops when I see one.
🖍 I wanted to be an artist. It makes me a little sad that I don‘t do anything “arty” anymore.
🌡 26C, the coolest it‘s been all week, but the humidity is high. 😩

I didn‘t like this one quite as much as the first. There were definitely parts where I got a good laugh and it kept my interest, but the story got confusing in parts and it ended very abruptly.
Enjoyed this sequel to The Rosie Project, though it definitely wasn‘t quite as captivating. I feel like the author really lost the sense of the character, Rosie, and the loss of her complex presence in the story made it a little one dimensional. The story was like a series of misunderstandings until it finally resolved in the last chapter.
Overall, still glad I read but missing the subtleties of the first book.
⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
Thoroughly enjoying this book so far! 😍
My library hold became available just in time for me to bring Don and Rosie on my weekend trip! 😊🎉
Just spent the Easter weekend in Newcastle, at my beautiful friend‘s house, watching the ocean. And occasionally reading 😂
This book didn‘t last me long! I loved the first one and liked this one even more. I‘m devastated there isn‘t a third one!
This book was just ok. While I really liked The Rosie Project, this story just wasn't as good to me. It's similar to seeing a sequel to a movie. It usually isn't as good as the first one.
Congrats on the Litfluence @CoffeeCatsBooks ! You all see plenty of Olive the beagle on here, so I'm highlighting my childhood dog Rosie. She's a golden mix who's been mistaken for a puppy since we adopted her in 2004, since she's only about knee-high. #payitforward #dogsoflitsy
Littens I need your help! I was organizing our home library and these are the books I‘ve either abandoned or totally overlooked. It‘s weird that most of them are blue. I feel guilty because someone needs to enjoy them so I‘m making an effort to read them this year. #bookishproblems. If I don‘t finish by the end of December I‘m donating them to our neighborhood library. Which one should I #readfirst? Go!
Rosie is pregnant, and Don gets into trouble as usual, this time in pursuit of becoming the perfect father and husband. Rosie sees things differently, and the relationship is in trouble. Don's perspective is still unique, fun, ultra rational and socially inept. His biggest challenge is Rosie, whom I wanted to shake... Ahhh! The characters are fun but the plot is often contrived, and it is less fresh than the Rosie Project. 3.5 stars.
