This quote hit me like a truck. I had to put the book down and hug someone after reading it. I get the feeling I‘m going to be crying a lot while reading this book.
Just finished this one on audio from #Libby. I was very vaguely aware of Hannah Hart before this book, but I really can‘t pass up a highly rated memoir! I think it was most successful when dealing with her relationship with her mom and her childhood, but really all of it was heartfelt and genuine. It‘s hard to say you enjoyed a book that deals with such hard topics (mental health, child abuse, self harm) but it was ultimately very enjoyable.
I was excited to find this signed copy of Buffering at McKay‘s in the bargain section. I know her from @ Midnight- did anyone else love that show as much as my husband and I did? I miss it so much! Anyway, I thought she was adorable and funny doing comedy improv on there, so wanted to check out her book. I‘m actually listening to the audio, since she reads it. I often listen to audios of books I own to climb #MountTBR.
Apparently you get a signed book for every bone you break.

So nice to meet yous!
Hannah Hart cracks me up on her YouTube show “My Drunk Kitchen” so when I bought this book, I sort of assumed I would be laughing at the puns and jokes she tells but instead I really got to know and understand her in a way that made me even feel like I connected with her. Love her even more now.
5⭐️- This memoir was incredibly emotional and I was completely absorbed in it. I read the entire thing in one day. I had no idea what Hannah went through as a child and, even though I admired her before, this memoir put her positive attitude in greater context. She is incredible.
I‘ve loved Hannah Hart since she first appeared on my computer screen, a little tipsy and attempting to make ice cream from scratch. Since then we have both grown a lot, although only one of us has been catapulted into Internet stardom. I'm so excited to finally be diving into this now that it's out in paperback, to continue to learn from this incredibly inspiring woman. - Jax

Some of my favourite fiction and nonfiction books about fierce, independent women. I recommend all of them!
Even though I have watched Hannah's videos and enjoyed them, I wasn't originally interested in her book. However, I'm pleased that I took the time to listen to it. She does talk about her career, but it's the chapters on her childhood, her mother's mental issues, her father's strict religious beliefs, and her sexuality that really stand out. I highly recommend listening to Hannah narrate her story. #nonfictionchallenge17
Just started this. In the audiobook, Hannah Hart reads her memoir. I'm not familiar with her YouTube series but am now definitely interested in checking it out!
Honest. Vulnerable. Uplifting. Strong. Poignant story.
"For me, dealing with #depression isn't about trying to run away from the feeling; it's about learning to walk alongside it."
#Libraryhaul! If memory serves me, Buffering won an #AudieAward, but I'm sure the physical book is just as fun 🎈
"It's about progress, not perfection" - Hannah Hart
I'm helping my sister dog sit some truly adorable dogs, but I also kind of want to cry.
You ever stumble across another individual and your brain just kind of record scratches to a stop and goes "oh, I'm not alone in this"?
Yeah.
I didn't know what to expect from this one. I'd heard (false) things that didn't give me a good impression, but once I read it for myself I was pretty surprised. It's definitely not what I would call a light read, I haven't teared up during a memoir... We'll ever. She's incredibly honest and doesn't hide anything, and she's been through a lot. Don't go in expect something light and fluffy, expect something really heavy.
Got my hands on the ebook so I can finally finish it despite the missing pages in my physical copy. #autobiography #readjanuary
Going to prove you should never believe anything you read on the internet... Someone posted an edited (?) version of this that made it seem Hannah states that Triggers (not trigger warnings) in life aren't a real thing. However, that's not what she said. And now I'm bummed I was silly enough to believe it. Ah well, live and learn.
Lots of tough topics discussed with a bit of humor. Very interesting read.
Really honest which made it a tough, but worth it read.
I was so surprised by this book. I'm trying to formulate a sentence that could encapsulate this book and all I can think is: it's so breathtakingly honest. I'm so glad she chose to narrate the audiobook because her stories in someone else's voice wouldn't have had the same affect.
#audiocrafting during my last hour at work. Not to brag guys, but I may have walked AND stirred my coffee at the same time. It made me feel like I had my crap together 😂I'm usually tripping over myself just standing.
Hart tells the story of a difficult childhood with a mother with schizophrenia who went most of her life undiagnosed. The book is filled with heart and honesty and perfectly balanced with humor and sarcasm and Hart is a great narrator.
Just finished this fantastic, heartfelt memoir by Hannah Hart. I didn't really know much about Hannah Hart before listening to this book. I'm really glad that I saw this on Audible and decided to give it a go. Now I really want to read My Drunk Kitchen and watch her YouTube Challenge. Highly recommend.
23 of them were either children's books or manga haha. Looking at reading challenges, such as Read Harder, I've noticed I have very constricted reading list. Unintentionally of course, my tbr list is just so long and I want to read all these old books and it's difficult to branch out because there are SO many books to be read that aren't on my list!! But I should branch out more, there are only so many fantasy novels one can read... #nov16stats
She has a very interesting story to tell.
A little uneven in places, but also a really moving account of growing up despite some...fairly steep odds.⭐️⭐️⭐️
I took my time and chose to savor this book and I am so glad I did. Hannah Hart is one of my favorite people on the internet and her ability to maintain optimism is beyond inspiring. Read this book, please. It will teach you so many beautiful things and make you want to smile and love more. So good!!
17 missing pages!😩I don't know what to do about this.
Look what finally came in the mail today! ✨
beginning this book by one of my favorite YouTubers! #HannahHart #BufferingBook

Jenny Lawson wrote the foreword to Buffering. My heart is so, so happy.
Yes yes yes yes yeeeeesssssss! Found this in our galley room at work and I am not waiting another minute to dive in!!!
Not what you expect to read but what you needed to read.
Hannah is the FIRST person I've seen acknowledge this depression - my depression. It was honestly getting to the point that I questioned "is it real? Or did my brain make it all up". Thank you Hannah, even if it did make me cry. But it was with happiness for once.
