Meh, it was fine.
I finally forced myself to finish it. It‘s okay. The story doesn‘t really take advantage of the time loop thing. The MC time loops 3x in the first 1/3 and then nothing. The time loop felt like a convenient plot device to just to make certain parts of the story work. I also felt the conflict was thin and could have been explored more. Meh.
Book 16 for #winterreadathon
Magical realism for #holidayromancebingo
I will start off by saying that I am typically not a fan of “groundhog day“ stories of ANY kind. I hate how repetitive it is. That being said, I loved this one! It is another great holiday romance that I am all about. I never realized I was this type of person, but here we are. If you are a lover 9f Hallmark holiday movies, this one is for you. It is corny, predictable, and filled with all the things you love in a holiday romance.
Read in one day! Love holiday family reunion stories. This one does a time loop in a way that doesn‘t feel too excessive or like the only point of tension. Packed with lovable characters, great dialogue, 🌶, and a fun plot. I thought the barely-there love triangle would play more of a role + appreciate the different direction. Still, is it wrong that I wish we could‘ve explored that more? 🤡
In a Holidaze, by Christina Lauren, is a perfect book to read at the holidays. It follows Mae, a girl who has spent every Christmas at her family‘s cabin with the people she loves most. Mae hates change, so when she finds out that the cabin is being sold, she is very crushed. She‘s scared that the bonds between her friends and family won‘t be the same. As she tries to save the cabin, she forms an unexpected relationship with her lifelong friend.

I loved all of these characters, their relationships, and traditions. Mae and Andrew were adorable and the story made me happy as Christmas romances usually do.
The was my December #BookSpin @TheAromaofBooks
Good Morning!
Getting in some reading before starting my day.
Bk15 of December & #WinterGames2021 is done. And it‘s the #TeamBook too! Plus I‘ve got a ton of #WGWordSearch points plus a few bingo lines completed🎉I quite liked this book. I‘m not a romcom reader at all, but it was sweet, quirky & had a touch of magic as well. Groundhog Day meets Love Actually for sure❤️💚 #AVeryMerryBingo #HemisphereChristmasGames #MerryBookmas #AVeryMerryReadathon #WinterCosy #TisTheReadson #MistletoeManiacs 5,521pts👇
🎄!!!
I forgot I even had this one until I saw someone post about it on litsy today 😅
So far, so good!
Characters and relationships between them felt extremely dull and that made this boring to read. I think my disappointment was this big because I have read one so much better book by these authors. Conflict in this book was also really stupid.
There were still some sentences that made me smile! #Adventathon

#SeasonsReading ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Pretty good seasonal read. I liked the second half better than the first. #tistheseason
Another one done! This was fun. CLo books always put me in a good mood! Need to get to some of those library holds!

Finished this cute book for team buddy read for #wintergames #mistletoemaniacs and also using it for a festive read for #festivephotochallenge
@Clwojick
I have owned this book since last year but didn't get to it, so I was pleased when it was picked as our team read. Overall I did enjoy this one, but I kind of wish the authors had leaned a little more into the Groundhog Day theme, like I was expecting a lot more repeats than I got. I am a huge fan of the movie Groundhog Day (my family actually gets together and watches it every year) and one of the reasons I love it is because of the way Phil's⬇️
1. Low key celebrations with my loved ones 2. Cassandra Clare, Colson Whitehead, Sally Rooney 3. A beanbag of sleepiness and mashed potato
I rarely read romance but I picked this up on audio because it has rave reviews. And I see why; it‘s an original premise for romance and it‘s quite funny. The narrator is excellent, but I have learned that audio sex scenes make me cringe 😳. #romance #audioromance
Here‘s my pic for today‘s red and green #festivephotochallenge! Also showing off two of my Christmas crafts, the sign and the funny looking gnome. 💚❤️💚 26 pts
#MistletoeManiacs
Well this is my provisional tbr for #WinterGames2021 hoping to read more than this including our team read but this is the start. #mistletoemaniacs. First Post for the games.
@Clwojick
Okay, so I will admit that my #WinterGames TBR is a smidge ambitious...so much so that I went ahead and made two #BookSpinBingo lists! 😂 I don't see myself reading 50 books this month, but I have so many fun and fluffy reads to choose from that I decided to include them all!! The left list is comprised of Kindle books (starred titles on Kindle Unlimited for those interested) & physical books are on the right. However, my remaining free spaces⬇️
Shew! I‘m impressed with myself for managing to get these out today.
#bestof2021 on its way to @ozma.of.oz (fyi the post office computer was confused by your address…. I hope it makes it to you ok!)
Other goodies headed to @AmyG @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @Hooked_on_books and @Mitch . Fingers crossed they all travel safely and arrive in a timely manner!
