When I purchased The Thousandth Floor by Katharine McGee ages ago, I somehow completely missed that this book is classified in the YA genre. (I rarely read YA.) I enjoyed it more than I expected. It‘s a good story that kept me engaged, and has a suspenseful ending. I‘m sure people who enjoy YA and science fiction would very much enjoy this book.

Despite a very weird adopted sibling romance story line, I really enjoyed this one! It gave vibes of Riverdale, Pretty Little Liars and shows in that genre but with an addition of futuristic sci fi element. I am normally not a fan of stories told in multiple POVs, but this one was well written!

GondorGirl I'll admit that I really enjoyed this whole series... They were a totally guilty pleasure read. Trashy in the best possible way. 3y

This starts with a girl falling off the thousand floor tower. So you know there is going to be some drama. Honestly, this book is like Gossip Girl set in the future before they ran out of good plot lines. If that sounds like it might be your thing, this is the book for you.

DEVOURED this book. Katharine McGee is a rockstar and this story shared all the same DNA with American Royals: futuristic teenage angst, subtle class warfare, forbidden love...and I‘m HERE for it. The ending left me unsure of whether I want to follow the rest of the trilogy, but still, I thoroughly enjoyed this!!

It‘s been a while since I‘ve posted on here, and while I‘ve been trying to keep things more positive, it‘s rare that I get this angry over a book. I wouldn‘t recommend it to anyone, not unless you WANT to read a book filled with horrific stereotypes, glorified incest, uninteresting character dynamics, ending with the death of a bisexual protagonist, no less. I need to read something good to get this awful taste out of my mouth.

This really is a book about teenagers — insecure, impulsive, self-centered, hormonal teenagers who have too much money & time. Now, some readers would hate that, but to me it was fun! I found these characters relatable to my own teenage self, though the representation of marginalized folk needs improvement. The writing was good, but the plot moved slowly, & I‘m never a huge fan of revolving POVs. Still, I‘m curious to see where it goes next. ★★★☆☆

Much more Gossip Girl-esque than I remember. I took a issue with who is murdered as it falls into that "kill the minority" trope that I cannot stand being used. The world and tech is school and a lot of grey yet likeable characters.

This book took me a while to finish. I honestly was expecting something different and I normally am not interested in something so Gossip Girl-esque. That said, I did enjoy this book and the idea of a massive tower city was quite interesting. There was a bit too much drama for my liking but for what it was, it was well written.

emilyrose_x @limada I didn't love it but I didn't hate it either (very helpful I know...) I think the overall idea of the book was really good, but I felt some sections were maybe a little forced. A good read though, but I would definitely class it as YA! 5y

I've waited a long time for this trilogy, wanting to read them back to back once they were all written. I was so disappointed in the first one I'm not even continuing on in the series. Everyone I spoke to loved it and I thought it just fell short.

LibrarianRyan Finally someone else who thought as I did. I was expecting so much more. Not a gossip girl wanna be. The building would have made for incredible world building if it was explored better. If it had truly been the mystery/thriller it proclaimed to be rather than a high society snob fest. 6y

Maybe I‘m just kinda getting burned out from these types of books. I just didn‘t find this to be super original. It reminded me a little bit of The Uglies series and the characters weren‘t very likable which made it hard to care about. Not terrible, but not my fave in this genre.

I had heard about this series awhile back, but never had interest in it. Subsequently, a booktuber reviewed it, liked it, and I decided to give it a go. It‘s the type of book that‘s a forgettable read, yet while you‘re reading it, you‘re engaged. I‘m not sure if I will continue on, although I do have the second book from the library already. It‘s between a So-So and Pick, but closer to a So-So.

JanuarieTimewalker13 It takes place in Manhattan in about 100 years in future. All of Manhattan resides in this one tower. It is intriguing, in an entitled teenage mystery way. It‘s definitely different from anything I‘ve ever read before. 6y

Basically, this book is exactly what it says it is. Lies, drama, parties - a true mix of GG and LPL :)

One of those petty dramas where privileged rich kids sleeps with everyone and everyone betrays everyone, do lots of drugs and you are not required to think too hard.

But I was interested to read to the end - to find out who falls from the tower

1st book for 2019 done❤️ I am a little torn with this book..not sure if it‘s a pick or so so. It took me quite awhile to get into. Some of the futuristic items in the beginning confused me a little, and made me a little disinterested. With that being said, once I started to catch on and get to know the characters it started getting pretty interesting. I‘m curious as to what will happen next in the series....

This book is like the ultimate reality tv show meets dark drama meets, like, the most over the top, angsty, rich high-life story you‘ve ever seen. In fact, this story was SO heavy with the drama that it dropped to so-so for me. Don‘t get me wrong, I picked up this book expecting to see some privileged kids make fools of themselves, but it was just a bit too much for me. BUT I also don‘t tend to love this sort of story anyway, so it may just be me.
