An entertaining start to the series…I‘d read more of them for sure! Rachel, a police officer, is dumped by her fiancé, so her bestie Sarah, a crew member on a luxury cruise ship, suggests that Rachel join her onboard. Rachel befriends a wealthy elderly passenger traveling solo, and quickly learns someone is trying to kill the old woman.

#bookspinbingo - this is my #bookspin for this month!
This was a powerful YA fantasy!
First off, I loved that the story was inspired by the authors‘ grandparents and their romance during the Japanese occupation of Korea. Drawing on real life experiences gave the story a ton of emotional depth.
I also enjoyed the dual POVs. The story is told in alternating points of view of the two leads, Seung and Eunji.

#BookSpin Day 7: Peter Lerangis, farthest left, is #TheGhostwriter of popular series such as Babysitter‘s Club, Hardy Boys, and Sweet Valley Twins - before becoming a mega-famous author himself of The 39 Clues, Seven Wonders Series among others. This photo of ours was taken in November 2022 when my dear friend (and colleague) and I were in New York. Peter generously treated us out for lunch with his famous wife, Tina DeVaron, a renowned musician.
A late #bookspinbingo post from July. I completed both #bookspin and #doublespin reads. A few of my reading choices were defined by challenge prompts that I wanted to complete, which is exactly why I do them.

#BookSpin Day 6: Bertie Badger‘s grandfather, “Gadzooks the Great” was once a “conjurer of note,” a world-famous magician who traveled to Prague, Kathmandu, Antipodes and Timbuktu. One would wonder what the #ConjurersWife was like - see what I did there? My full review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-idh
