I finished two books and started a third (Along Came a Spider) Read 897 pages in total (would have been nice to see that at an even 900) and of course I had a great time challenging myself to read though a busy weekend.

This book was fine. It had the issue that annoys me across a lot of books of every single character sounding like a self help book/someone repeating what a therapist told them and announcing the ways their minds work rather than behaving like people, which did annoy me, but I liked the setting and bones of the story, and it was very Christmassy.

This book was so completely magical it made me wonder why I let it sit unread on my kindle for so long. It‘s made me want to do an entire Philip Pullman reread - perhaps Christmas is the perfect time?

I described this scene to my husband and he said, “It's literally a Hallmark movie.“

Pretty much, yeah. And that's not really my thing, so I found this pleasant, but a bit on the gooey and obvious side. Also has a lot of side character info from earlier in the series.

On the other hand, 413 #WordSearch words. 😂

My weekend was kind of jam-packed but I managed to read 26 chapters of Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, and finished two Harlequin Romances: Fa-La-La-La Faking It and an oldie called Saved from Sin. Also listened to 90 minutes of Thank You for Listening and started the graphic novel of On Tyranny.
